This is a thread to discuss various Chinese books/treatises on military strategy (The Art of War, Wuzi, 36 Strategies, etc.) For starters, which books/treatises have you read or own and which is your favourite? I'll post mine a little later. Also although this thread is primarily for ancient texts (ie. before the 19th century), has anyone read anything Mao Zedong wrote on the subject? (I'm not quite sure if these texts count as literature per se, so feel free to move if appropriate JohnD) |

Sun Zi's Art of War is the only one I've read in full. I had a copy of Sun Bin's Art of War, but I don't think I brought it with me when I moved. I would really like to read the defensive parts of the Mozi, but I don't know of any English translation. |
