With the drinking age varying from country to country, with as many as 19 having no legal requirements for drinking age to some such as India with a drinking age ranging from 25-30. First: Do you feel that there should be a drinking age, why or why not? Second: Should the drinking age be standard across all countries? Why or why not? Third: If there is no drinking age, should it be left up to personal responsibility? |

First: Do you feel that there should be a drinking age, why or why not? im saying yes to this, because some people who drink do stupid things and sometimes shouldn't be drinking...like for example if there isn't an age some kids will get a drinking problem soo early!! Second: Should the drinking age be standard across all countries? Why or why not? well here is 18, which i think is okay Third: If there is no drinking age, should it be left up to personal responsibility? nmm interesting question |

I think the drinking age, as much as I hated it growing up, is a must! In America the drinking age is 21. This is a bit too high, in my honest opinion they should lower it to 18. At 18 years old you're old enough to go to college and live on your own, so why not drink as well? I also think the drinking age should be universal around the world. Having different rules country-to-country gets confusing. Plus most people follow their own countries rules regardless where they are currently living. |

Yes, because if minors drink it may effect their lifestyle, and it would lead to more violence/bad behavior within the community. I think the drinking age should be standard across the world, that keeps it fair, and you won't get any annoyed people. :P As for the 3rd question, I guess so. Someone needs to take charge. xD |

1. Yes. Whilst you can argue that some people are more mature than others, or some young people act more mature than older people, the universal truth is that below a certain age, alcohol has more significant effects on a person's body, mental state, and wellbeing. The laws are designed to prevent that as much as possible. 2. It really depends too much on culture to have a standard across the entire planet. Plus, who would decide? 3. I don't see any other option. If there is no legal requirement, then obviously the only remaining option is personal responsibility. Whether that's a good idea or not... well, I don't think so. |

I certainly do believe there should be a drinking age. I don't want to see 14 year olds out drunk (although I do anyway). What I dislike is that a child can get married at the age of 16 but can not drink until they are 18, at least where I am. Which of these requires more responsibility, and should be done at an age where responsible decisions can actually be made? Either way, 18 is fine for the age. I'd rather like to drink myself and not wait until I am 21. |

I think there should be a drinking age because kids should not be able to easily buy alcohol. However, in the US the drinking age is 21 (I think?) which is way too high. It's 19 here in Canada but I believe it should be 18, at that age you're an adult, and if you can enroll in the military, you should be allowed to drink. |
