When you step into the map room, it is not shelves upon shelves of books that greet you, but racks full of scrolls. In the centre of the room stand several heavy oak tables, maps laid out on some of them. They are all placed around a large bronze globe, engraved with the details of the known world, its surface rough with mountains and valleys. At the entrance to the room there is a large, thick book on a stand, listing all the maps available, along with the shelf they can be found at. |
