"Are you really surprised at the drinking?"

Well that was cause for a snort. Ho boy, it took all First Aid could not to laugh at the comment.

"Ratchet was a pretty heavy drinker too. You wouldn't believe some of the little medic secrets he taught me. And by that I mean, he taught me some low key ways to counter feeling heavy in the processor the next morning. You should really see the faces on everyone. They all watch me get wrecked and come morning it's like nothing happened! But, yeah, almost all the medics I met have been that way. I'd say it comes with the job, but Lottie is the exception."

First Aid hadn't known too much about Caminus. He wondered if the drinking thing for Lottie was just how she was raised over there. Most of Caminus was a mystery to him, asides from the epic combiner battle he fought down there.

"But being a party ambulance aside, I try not to go too overboard with the drinking here on the ship. Never know when I'll have to do emergency surgery. It wasn't a problem when Ratchet and... Ambulon... We're here but now it's me and Lottie, I'd hate to leave her handing while I'm off purging my tanks."

Considerate, but still. It wouldn't always stop him from toppling off the deep end once in awhile. Especially with Ambulon gone. He had been part of First Aid's impulse control while Ratchet served for damage control. First Aid was as reckless as he was talented, which was saying a lot.

"Still, I typically don't even go to my habsuite of I'm being honest with you. There's no real point to, I'd rather just stay at the medbay anyways."

He left out the part about how all his habsuite had was a recharge slab, a desk covered in wreckers issues, and his autobot badge collection mounted to the wall. Overall it was empty, but a sign to just how frequently Aid left the medbay to focus on himself. There was no time for a personal life when your job was so demanding.

"That's a fair assessment of the medbay. I'd go to say it's unsettling at times too. I mean, for me it's home, but man... I have some pictures of Delphi on a data slug I'll have to show you sometime. That's a creepy medbay. I mean, it was an emergency room, but like.. Isolated 'no one can hear you scream' creepy. And if you knew pharma, whoooff, he was creepy too."

Though First Aid had nothing nice to say about pharma.

"Other than the gun I'm sure you have more projects that you're working on? I'm starting to get the vibe that you start a lot of projects on impulse, which is really quite inspiring. I mean, having the processor to come up with such ideas at such an incredible rate... It's admirable to say the least!"

"Medics have drinking secrets? I'll have to take notes if we go for a drink then." How was this something he didn't know about? Damn the Lost Light for not having more medics to steal drinking secrets from.

"Is that why I hardly ever see you around at Swerve's? Another thing you medics are way too good at is working too much." Coming from him that meant something. Last time Brainstorm performed the annual performance check on the quantum engines with Nautica they'd been down there for three whole mega-cycles. It was a job well done but at the end of the day his wings had ached from sitting up against the wall with a data pad in his face.

"I can relate to living at work. I don't have any drinking secrets but I know how to make a lab bench work as a makeshift berth." Not that a medic could really use that information. The medibay was basically a room full of reacharge slabs after all. Also full of tools creepier than the ones he used in his own workshop, and Delphi. He'd heard that Delphi was creepy before when it actually functioned, but the stories everyone had heard from Drift and Pipes? Creepier.

"Flattery won't work on me." Brainstorm tutted at First Aid's compliment. "But science and a creative mind are a startlingly impressive combination." Some would argue that there's too fine of a line between true creativity and insanity, but if the product of insanity is anywhere close to being as fundamentally progressive as some of his past projects he could honestly say he was okay with being called insane. At that point it would be less of an insult and more or a compliment.

"You'd be one of the few who find it admirable. I believe in Ultra Magnus' words he called it... a hazard to other individuals and myself? When he said that it hadn't been just my fault though. I was tweaking the micro-generator for the quantum entanglement blaster and Riptide spilled his drink over it." It was a team effort, and nothing was better than bonding over the small explosion it'd caused in the brig for the next day with Riptide. Even better when they sat at the blackened table in the corner of Swerve's to reminisce over it.

"We all have a lot of secrets. Mine just mostly involve tricking your processors to sober up remarkably faster, I like to reason it's in case of an emergency since it can kinda be a little risky, but it's never come to nip me in the aft yet. Though until I find a way to reduce the risk of purging, I might not pass along my art of heavy drinking just yet. Well, Ratchet's art. I mean it's not a true sober, but it's enough to help me get through surgery. Now that was a wild time I wish to never repeat."

As he spoke, First Aid continued to pick at any bits of dirt that might be in his seams. Digits gently traced and dug into some of his joints and plating seams, nothing he couldn't wash out later when he got back on the ship. It was just, well, exciting to be covered in something not energon for once.

"Any time you see me at swerve's is when I've decided Ive worked too much and need a break. So I'd say you're fair to make the assessment. In my defense, we are understaffed. Even if we had a full house of all four of us, as impossible as that is, we would still be short. But, what can you do? I sure as pit can't do anything about it."

First Aid couldn't help but smile, even if it was hidden behind that face mask. He remembered seeing brainstorm without his mask, the features of his face so different from the rest of the crew. It made Aid wonder why he chose to cover up, not that it was his business. It would be a little hypocritical to ask when he refused to uncover his as it is. Still.

"Being as my 'sleeping quarters' are pretty much lined up with berths as is, I will take you up on that information should I find the legs to adventure out of my comfort zone more. If I ever find time to crash at your lab you will be the one in charge of recharge arrangements. But hardly could I imagine that could be comfortable. Then again, have you ever had to recharge with four other mechs practically piled ontop of you? As uncomfortable as it was at first, it was probably one of the best recharges I've ever experienced."

He missed it. While there was no way to match that sensation perfectly, Aid wondered if he were to recharge side to side with a mech outside of his gestalt bond if it would function similar. Not that he knew anybody to ask, nor would he have the nerve. He'd just have to wait till his crew returned to the lost light. Groove probably took Aid's place at being at the bottom of the recharge pile in his absence.

"Hey! It's not, well I mean it is a complement, but I didn't mean for it in a bad way! Besides if I were to somehow get the energy and the creativity you have to work on projects you know what I'd be called? A bad Doctor and id be slammed with malpractice, as that's typically morally frowned upon. But I mean, yeah you're a scientist so it makes all the sense that you have, like, an endless amount of inspiration to keep moving your studies forwards?"

That next bit about Ultra Magnus had Aid snorting again, a dismissive hand wave.

"Ultra Magnus doesn't really understand that without experimenting and trial and error we never progress forwards. I mean, I certainly see the concern of harming anyone on the ship. I have the same concern. But I mean, I think his concern is his way of getting involved even if it's not as warm as you'd like it to sound? He's mostly here to balance out Rodimus's impulsiveness if you ask me. Well, I mean, he has a job and all that don't get me wrong. But nothing would ever move if those two didn't balance each other out. We would either have too much impulse or everything would be too stiff. It's a nice balance, I'd say anyways."

"Willingly sleeping in the lab? That's... brave? I suppose if you spend most of your time in the medibay then a lab- my lab probably isn't quite as unsettling as it is." Brainstorm's turned his attention back to the field as another bot lapped by, more courteous of their distance to First Aid and himself.

Of all the places he'd ever slept he'd have to say his lab was his favorite. Nightmares? Well there was almost always something easy to tinker on to get his mind off of it. If he did sleep in his lab it was almost always just a brief nap, short enough to ward off any unfortunate dreams. Then back to work until he was tired again.

Brainstorm tried to keep his lab as unintimidating as possible, keyword try, it was hard to make a rack of guns not intimidating to a group of mechs that had only recently stopped fighting in a 4 million year war. Hanging upside down from the ceiling helped. Despite how reclusive and distant he could be while engrossed in his projects, he did enjoy the occasional company. Requested weapons from fellow crew mates was always a joy too, especially when they gave a specific request. Soaring above and beyond the predetermined guidelines was generally the goal on anything made by his hand, especially when he saw the surprise on their faces.

"I was just teasing! No such thing as a bad compliment, and while creativity is a good thing in science I'm sure the medical field takes a sizeable amount of patience and endurance that most mechs don't have." Though Ratchet wasn't really known for his patience, it was something he'd seen in most other medics. As well as a sympathy for life, mechanical and organic alike. "Endless inspiration" while that might be true, didn't always mean the product of said "inspiration" could be held in the same light. Brainstorm frowned at the radar gun in his hand. No more meteorology.

"I'd say Rodimus and Magnus are a good balance. Only problem being how unpredictable the two have always been. Unpredictable isnt always a bad thing though." It certainly made their journey thus far an interesting one, and Ultra Magnus and Rodimus have both changed over the course of time.

When Brainstorm had been asked if he'd wanted Rodimus to resign from being Captain all that time ago he'd honestly said yes, not because he had anything against Rodimus, but because he'd believed at the time that if they were to depend solely on Rodimus for leadership that they'd most certainly fail. Now? Now was different. Rodimus was different. Ultra Magnus wasn't really Ultra Magnus. Megatron was wearing an autobrand. A lot had changed between then and now. If anything, crew morale had been higher than ever. Even with the looming threat of having a warlord on board. Everyone had killed or helped kill some bot or another at some point. It was a debatable topic, and even with war being on everyones hands that didn't change the fact that Megatron had done wrong, everyone knew it, but it also didn't negate the fact that there was a sizeable amount of effort on Megatron's part now. Nobody was pure evil, so when is it considered fair to kill someone as punishment for past wrong doings? Who gets to have that power?

If they were going to play the blame game then wasn't Optimus at fault too? It took two to fight a war, and Optimus had made life hellish for plenty of mechs. Brainstorm's life had started out hellish, being an M.T.O. was hellish, trying not to let being an M.T.O. chase him through his profession was hellish, and who gave the order for more Autobot M.T.O.'s? Certainly not Megatron. ((Literally a mad man's ramblings omfg sorryy for the text wall.))

Brainstorm dismissed that line of thought with a shake of his head. Nothing could be done now anyway, Megatron was co-captain and they were still on a quest to find the Knights Of Cybertron. Brainstorm tried for a more comfortable smile. "See that swell of clouds over there?" Brainstorm inquired with a point to the sky with his unoccupied servo.

"I never really thought of our medbay here on the Lost Light as creepy, but I used that is because I came from Delphi. Delphi was once all sparkly new too but it fell into a bad state quite rapidly. It wasn't quick from the beginning but at the end it was such a downward slope it was hard to keep up. Your lab couldn't possibly be that bad. Besides- I imagine there is a lot going on in there as well to provide white noise? White noise is very helpful for those with recharge issues."

Seeing the next racer approach, even at a distance, had First Aid flinch and close up his vents. As soon as he was sure he was safe, the medic opened back up, regaining his more relaxed stance. He had enough organic matter in his system for a day, and a long wash was definitely in his future as soon as he checked back into the bay. Lottie would understand, she probably didn't like dirt or organic grime either.

"You've hit the nail on the head with that one. Patience, endurance, patience again, and I like to add in a gentle touch. Something Ratchet didn't always think to have. Seriously, I've seen him chuck that wrench before. A few times he's even gotten me, accidentally of course. I've never mucked up so bad to warrant a smack over the helm. But pit, I would not call that gentle or patient. But do you really see patience being that interesting? I feel like it makes me boring. Not much of a conversation starter as your radar gun or how all the things in your lab work."

"But I guess it's also foolish for me to try to compare two different talents? What makes you special is of course going to be different than what I'm skilled at. There would be no point in having a ship full of everyone with the same set of skills. But don't think because I'm patient that I'll let you walk over me. You'll best be getting your aft down to the bay when your physical is up, or I'll have to make a house visit."

Of First Aid's talents, being intimidating wasn't not one of them. While he could be firm to keep patients in line, Ambulon had always been the better of the two with intimidating. Then again, he was also not as sweet as Aid was either. They had been a perfect team, while it lasted, picking up on the others slack. Lottie was a hard worker, but he just didn't have the same flow with her as he did his old partner from Delphi.

"I know I wasn't an original part of the ships crew and jumped aboard a little after launch, so I could only imagine the bumps you all must have hit when you first lifted off. Rodimus is very unpredictable. I feel at times he gives very firm wrist slaps and then responds to make up for it with extremes. I can't really judge much, as I know I wouldn't be able to lead this ship, but he must be doing moderately okay if him and Magnus and megatron all haven't murdered one another yet. Not that i see them as murderous, I was exaggerating. No murders."

Staring out into the field, Aid felt a soft ache to his spark. It was becoming almost like clockwork when he would feel the uncomfortable pulses now, but it wasn't anything he couldn't swallow or mask. The silence washed over both of them, lost in two totally different trains of thought. While First Aid had no idea where Brainstorms mind was racing, his own was lost in thoughts about Delphi.

Where would he be NOW if he never boarded the Lost Light? Would Ambulon survived back at Delphi? Maybe Aid would have been the one to be sawed and split in half before his eyes, leaving the other abandoned alone in a horror house of an emergency room. It made him shiver, thinking of all the ways Pharma had held over them, sweet Pharma who fell to corruption.

Aid had always sensed there was something unspoken between Ratchet and Pharma, never placing a finger on it. Never asking because he likes to not pry where he knew he didn't belong. All the same, if weighed him down immensely. All the other ways Delphi could have been handled, all the other ways First Aid could have changed his fate. Ambulon's fate more specifically. The guilt combined with the soft gestalt pain, drawing out a sigh.

"Sorry, got a little lost in thought for a moment. Maybe... Maybe when we go for a drink it'll come up. No promises."

There was already something Aid had planned to talk with brainstorm about as soon as they sat on those bar stools and got their poisons. Here wasn't the time nor place, but it still raced on his mind. Something he didn't understand until it was too late, something he had been afraid to disclose with Brainstorm. He wondered if maybe it was going too far to when bring it up, but he had all the time in the world for deep late night conversations.

He needed to speak, before it became suspicious just how quiet he had grown.

"You share your lab with Percy right? Mind if I ask how often Whirl pokes around too?"

First aid trying to nosey in about the wreckers was about as subtle as his autobot brand collection. It wasn't. Everyone that had gotten to have at least three conversations with the medic knew he was a fan, though the lengths of that sometimes were blurred. Between the whole secrecy with Springer to just being heckled by Ambulon and Pharma for keeping up with his issues. Still. Whirl and Percy were two bots Aid had always been keen on meeting.

"Maybe talking about patience isn't all that significant, but it's an integral part of whoever it belongs to, and something distinctly lacking in most." Patience came hand in hand with a great many things. It didn't always mean passiveness either, it meant persistence too, and forbearance. Brainstorm didn't know all of First Aid's past, from what he did know he'd wager persistence was a very reasonable summarization.

Brainstorm actually startled when First Aid raised his voice, the intimidation clear in his tone. Brainstorm narrowed him with a testy silence. Newfound friendship did make it easier to talk his way out of things. Things being annual check ups, but First Aid was also level headed enough to remember a check up was for the better of Brainstorm's health anyway. Brainstorm dropped the idea almost as quick as it had come, simply nodding in acceptance. Solemn acceptance. He'd still try to get out of it, tooth and nail, but he'd have to be crafty. Craftier than last time.

Oh, last time, that was a story to be told. Brainstorm feared the wrench for a reason, and sure, being a scientist working with all sorts of tools means you'll probably find yourself on the receiving end of a wrench at some point. Whether it be because you dropped it on your own face and sat on the floor in incredulous shame (personal experience), or because you accidentally maybe borrowed some project notes from a coworker without asking and they vigilantly sought retribution (sorry Perceptor), but when Ratchet's the one throwing it? It hurts so, so much more. Maybe the extra pain is just your pride dying with it, or maybe it's because Ratchet's a seasoned wrench thrower, but it always hurts more. Of all the things First Aid had learned from Ratchet Brainstorm was so grateful that wrench throwing wasn't among them.

Brainstorm acknowledged First Aid with a small sound. No murders yet, and if Brainstorm was to guess he'd say there wouldn't ever be any amongst Rodimus' favored group. It was a long time coming and it was still bumpy, but for now everyone was content. Mostly. Never 100% though. Brainstorm glanced down to First Aid who had fallen strangely silent. He wanted to comment on it, he probably should. Nothing too serious has happened recently, so it had to be something heavy and personal. Something Brainstorm really wanted to ask about. But he'd never really got to this point? Not in any social opportunities recently anyway. How would he even start? " "What's wrong?" " Would that be too short? Informal? Rude even? First Aid's boundaries were still a little unclear and Brainstorm knew better than to test them so soon. Another time, when First Aid decided to tell him himself.

"If it does come up over a drink I can't promise I'll be any good at talking about it. Hopefully offering an ear will be enough?" It was unspoken that Brainstorm had problems chatting about more deeply seeded personal affairs. He always tried his best with Chromedome, he knew his support was better placed in dragging the nmemosurgeon up off of his aft, Chromedome wouldn't let him help in any other way. Brainstorm shifted his attention back to First Aid when he broke the silence.

Brainstorm actually laughed, a little too loud after such a thoughtful stretch of silence. "Primus no, me and Perceptor could never share a lab. Every now and then high command will send down a tougher assignment that needs more than two hands but then and only then." Very different minds, minds and morals. Whirl though? How long ago was it that he dropped by? Too long, by any account of his own. Whirl was more than willing to test weapons and adopt them as his own if Brainstorm so permitted it. That had been sort of an awkward phrasing on First Aid's part hadn't it?

"There wouldn't happen to be any reason in particular that you're asking about Perceptor and Whirl, right?" It hadn't added up quite as quickly in his mind as it had after saying it allowed. There was very little the two had in common afterall.

"You can say that twice. Sometimes I wish I could share my patience with some of the crew, but I know that would totally defeat the point of everyone being their own selves if everyone was just as patient as myself. But patience isn't really a learned skill is it?"

Still, while it might not be learned, it was a trait all medics had to some degree. Ratchet and pharma far less than First Aid. Then again, Aid also found himself to be more sensitive and empathetic. Growing and learning from all these stuffy medics sometime made First Aid insecure that he'd never catch up to speed with their teachings. It wasn't until he has surpassed them with his findings on restarting sparks that Aid ever felt on par.

Ratchet and Pharma were both skilled, but it was just hard to also feel skilled when they would tease him about minor things. Extreme attention to detail, sensitivity towards inanimate objects, the whole nine yards. It didn't help when he was known to be reckless as well. Comments of concern lost their meaning when the others had been teasing him earlier that day. It was things like this that made Aid draw to Springer so attentively in the first place.

Aid was not intimidating in the least, probably as intimidating as Tailgate was before the whole super strength ordeal. So it took the medic by surprise with Brainstorms response. Was he actually being taken seriously? Well, Brainstorm could try all he wanted to dodge and get out of medical exams, but Aid was determined. He'd have to be extremely cunning to try to get past First Aid, not impossible, but it would take a lot. Happy with the response, Aid left it at that. Brainstorm seemed to accept his fate, besides, first aid was always swift when it came to physicals. It was mostly just personal questions, some even Aid didn't want to ask or know the answers too. Especially when most mechs lied anyways.

It wasn't like he wanted to ask and know to be nosey, it was an important question to help rule out potential issues. Maybe one day more mechs would be more honest and trusting of Aid, or least realize he was just desensitized to how personal these conversations were to begin with.

"That's fair. I mean. I do want to have a good time with you when we go for our drinks but... It's just one of those things I don't think I couldn't say in such an open atmosphere. Sure, yeah, we are alone. Nobody could hear us. It isn't even that scandalous. But it's a deep thought. A personal thought. Something that, well, I don't think this is the time or place. I'll never force you to answer either, but if it does come up I'm giving you audible permission now that you can shoot down the topic and tell me to change gears. I know sometimes I'm more loose with what I have to say or what's burdening me after a few. I'd hate to make you feel obligated or uncomfortable just because I can't let go of the past."

Yeah. Letting go of the past was extremely rough. That seemed like something they both sort of shared, to an extent anyways. Though usually, for First Aid anyways, he hasn't noticed things in the past that the time they occurred. No it was long after when he had the clarity to look back. Which was a shame to be able to see all your missed chances and all your mistakes without having the power to change things.

Though if things were different, he wouldn't be covered in dirt talking with Brainstorm now.

"I was just curious bout Percy and Whirl was all. I never really get accidents from Percy but Whirl used to come in a bit before I had left. I was..."

Why was he even lying about this? Why did he even feel the need to cover this up? It was time to come clean.

"Okay that... Was just an excuse. I'm a really big Wreckers fan, it's not really a secret, but I used to get teased a bit over it. 'Too interested' I think were the words used to describe it. Anyways, if you had known Whirl well, I was going to ask that maybe I could stop by same time as him and say hello, but I'm honestly a bit nervous to approach whirl when I'm not repairing his pinchers. Not that his personality is bad, it's actually rather refreshing, I just don't know if I'd be able to hit it off with him as well as I had--"

Shit. He didn't want to leak about springer, not here anyways.

"As well as I had with you! Hopefully I'm not being too forwards or awkwardly by stating that I find it easy to talk with you, Brainstorm."

Decent... Decent save. Not really. Not that it was a huge ordeal to keep Springer a secret, he already told Lottie the details about him and agent 113, but it was just better to be safe than sorry with those sorts of things.

"Hey, if we do chat about it thats all its gonna be. Just, chatting, about whatever? If it's something extra extra personal then I wont feel forced to answer. I can listen. Might not have much of an answer but I can always listen." Well, as long as it isn't regulations or another lecture from Ultra Magnus about "lab protocols" or "dangerous chemical fires in the hallway".

A Wreckers fan? That hadn'tbeen particularly surprising with how popular the Wreckers had gotten. It was mighty easy to forget Perceptor had been a Wrecker when the scientist spent most of his days couped up in a lab. Not that Brainstorm hadn't seen how skilled Perceptor was with a rifle- he was definitely a little envious, of all the blasted guns he'd been able to build, a reasonable sniper rifle had never been one of them.

Brainstorm frowned in the awkward silence ensuing First Aid's hurried... conclusion? That had been strange. "I- ...thank you? Whirl doesn't seem to be much for idle chatter but I'm sure he'd enjoy talking about the Wreckers." Brainstorm couldn't say he knew all that much about Whirl, but he'd heard in passing conversation before that Whirl held his time with the Wreckers close.

"I should probably mention now that there's a swell of clouds up towards the north thats coming this way. We have a bit of time? I just know from personal experience that organic rain can be especially messy." It was full of weird bacteria that Brainstorm really didn't want to witness first hand on his plating. Meteorology had some benefits he supposed. Very, very little in space unfortunately.

"Yeah, you're right. I think I'm getting a little too wrapped up in thinking and over thinking. Sorry about that, it's always a bit of a bad habit. Stems from always wanting to care and nurture everyone that the thought of being a problem is always a huge concern for me. Still, you're absolutely correct. What happens happens."

Trying his best to pull any evidence of being flustered out of his EM field, Aid looked around at the ground before answering, he was starting to strike out.

"Yeah, whirl is definitely very animated. Which is something I greatly enjoy. But yeah I.. I'm a really big wreckers fan, Pharma and Anbulon would tease and borderline heckle me on it. 'Useless nonsense' was the words I believe? Anyways, I always found it as more of an escape than anything. To keep in the know, you know? I don't know."

After pointing out the clouds, the medic's head perked up from looking at the first to looking out at the skyline. Those clouds sure didn't seem like the 'happy' white ones he liked to see.

"I've only ever experienced organic rain once. Just from watching from inside. Our home isn't really fond of this kind of weather, with all the moisture I'm sure. But I can't help to feel like, from a spectators point of view, that it's very nice. Though I do agree that maybe we should pull it inside, I doubt betting covered in dirt and rain in one day is good for anyone. Maybe in sparse moderation."

Aid swallowed thickly, feeling a tad awkward.

"Were you still interested in continuing talking once we reached inside? Just so I know if I should, uh, part ways or follow you through the halls. I'd hate to misread the air on this one. Though at some point soon I really need to get washed up of this."

He gestured to all of him, mainly to the dirt but any number of jokes could be made. Sadly Aid was a mess that solvent washes usually couldn't fix. That was more or less a sadly applied bandaids on a gaping wound. It did really nothing but an attempt was made at self repair.

Brainstorm regarded First Aid with a smile as the medic stood there for a moment staring at the ground. He could definitely bring up the whole Wreckers thing to Perceptor next time he saw him. Whirl could always be the back up plan if Perceptor didn't care. He wasn't sure if that would be a good idea though, Whirl might get a little to enthusiastic about it. Not that plan a or b were bad. Being a medic and all meant First Aid had probably had to deal with at least one of the two at least once. It was a small world on their big ship.

Brainstorm was almost curious enough to remain outside and witness the rain showers for himself. But rain clouds also supplied a considerable amount of lightning when they got more severe. Lightning would probably be painful on the circuits. He'd fried circuits plenty of times before but having to replace the whole sensor net would be a hassle. Also super awkward to manage until he gets used to the new sensors. Not to mention the scratch of dirt still residing between his joints and the protoform beneath. He's probably had enough first hand experience with organic matter for one day.

"Up to you! I suppose if you're not too busy running errands and collecting those aforementioned supplies then I'd be glad to have the company. Unfortunately, the mini washrack in my lab isn't working. An honest mistake with some acid- accidental acid that's been carefully disposed of." He was no chemist, by no stretch of the word. That didn't mean he didn't dabble in it- well, try to dabble in it anyway.

He certainly wouldn't stop First Aid from following him, but it might be boring. He'd probably have his face stuffed in a data pad for the next several cycles hammering out the project notes and a rough draft.

"We could always meet up again later tonight for that drink you mentioned? It is shore leave afterall. I'm sure by night most of the more energetic mechs at Swerve's will be tuckered out." Also a good reason to stop for a break after a few cycles of working.

"Yeah, meeting up at Swerve's sounds like the best plan of action. I can wash up in the medbay no problem, I tend to try and avoid the public wash areas."

It was no real surprise that First Aid was shy with that sort of thing. While he had nothing to really hide, he saw the act as one of privacy. Only once or twice had he been forced to use the public facilities and the experience was nightmarish to say the least.

"But yes, let's meet tonight at Swerve's after we both have played a little catchup with our work. I'm sure you're itching to get cleaned and start drafting that gun after all. I should probably give Lottie a run down for the evening's objectives."

With that Aid followed Brainstorm up into the ship, parting their seperate ways once inside. He wouldn't admit just how much he was looking forwards to his drink later this evening, but it was evident in his body language. Tired and sagging, he padded back to the medbay, ready to continue the day.
