Did nobody ever dust around here? Was it really so hard to keep things clean and in their rightful places? Apparently not, First Aid was soon to realize. He hadn't even left the Lost Light for that long and the moment he gets back on ship and its like the whole medbay had gone to hell and then just straight up abandoned. As usual First Aid was left to clean the mess and, well, no surprise there when he started to feel a tension head ache creep on.

Baby steps, baby steps.

After an hour of going through inventory and pawing through boxes of supplies, at least the newly instated CMO had some idea of what he had to work with. Lots of disposable absorbent wipes at least where still in stock, which First Aid figured would be a great thing to have for when the next bar fight at Swerve's broke out. Always handy to have some of those around. Thankfully a lot of the supplies found was still in good condition, sans a few extra loose syringes. Into the trash with those.

Taking a long outward vent, First Aid soon found himself with a new task to tackle while getting the Medbay back to tip top standards. With inventory done it soon came to mind that lots of equipment would need calibrating as well. Not to mention how many tools were most likely left unwashed. All the data pads with outdated patient files. First Aid could scream.

Well. He already was. What he thought was just mental frustration was soon channeled into a high pitched audio squeal. Startling himself momentarily, First Aid lowered himself to one of the patient seats with a heavy thunk. He was starting to get really overwhelmed by the work load and it had only been a few hours.

"Primus..."

Lowering his helm to his servos, First Aid was caught up in a whirlwind of emotions. The two bots he had really learned to call friend were both gone with no sign of return anytime soon, if at all. Sure, he totally knew others on the ship but not on that close of a personal level. As far as he thought, most of them probably didn't even like him since his job required him to do things others tried to avoid. Like physicals and checkups and asking intrusive personal questions.

He was back at square one. Back at the beginning. Temporarily at the top but for what? A fancy metaphorical white coat to match his hammy down title of CMO!? What was even the point of being the CMO when the bots that helped you get here weren't even around to support you?

He supposed that's what making new friends was about. To give you new experiences and new families. Maybe even help get you out of places one couldn't reach to escape on their own.

But enough mulling around. First Aid slowly rose, making his way over towards all the emergency equipment. While he hoped crash carts weren't anything he would be using for a long while, not having them fully stocked would pose a problem if he ran one to an emergency scene only to find it empty. Besides, he had to start somewhere if anything was going to get done.

Maybe in the off chance that someone needed him they'd come down to the medbay. Even just a hello or to ask for a bandage. While he doubted the prior, it was more than likely someone would come through the doors cradling a severed limb or leaking some kind of fluid. And when that time came First Aid wanted to at least be half prepared to do his job.

Rewind wandered down the hallway idly, looking for something to catch his interest. Chromedome was away doing something with Brainstorm, Tailgate was busy helping someone lift heavy objects (everyone was recruiting the poor minibot into their tasks these days, Rewind thought with a chuckle, not that he blamed them!), everyone else he knew about was hanging out at Swerve's - which was fine, but the bustle of the busy bar wasn't what he was in the mood for right now. So now he was just strolling through the ship, looking for someone to talk to. He was at least familiar with most people on the ship, and he'd become re-familiarized with most of those after...the duplicate business, and had gone out of his way to meet and chat with the people he hadn't known previously at all (meeting new people was always exciting), so he'd have to run into someone to chat with eventually, right?

A strange-sounding, high-pitched squeal sounded off from somewhere, catching Rewind's interest. He stared perplexedly in the direction it had come from for a while before realizing it had been a mech making that sound - a noise of frustration. Wow, tough on that guy, whoever it was. Rewind began making his way towards the source of the noise, finally walking with a destination in mind.

Soon enough he realized he was heading towards the medibay, and stopped to think about who'd even been making that noise. Probably not a patient, he decided with a snort, those would probably have been making verrrrry different noises. A medic, then? Ratchet was gone, that didn't sound like Velocity - First Aid? Rewind thought he'd heard something about this ship's new CMO being back! (Well, and now he had heard the sounds of this ship's new CMO, back.) He hadn't known First Aid at all from his own ship, given that here he'd joined up post-takeoff, but he'd heard him and the Rewind from here had been decent friends, he'd come to his movie nights. Rewind had meant to get to know the guy better now, but initially he'd been hesitant because of the whole I-don't-know-you-but-you-know-the-dead-me thing. Then he'd gotten acclimatized to being on the other ship, and hung out with him a couple times, but then the medic had gotten called out to Earth and that had put a pause on their lopsidedly developing relationship. But now First Aid was back - and if he was making noises like that, it sure sounded like he needed someone to talk to right around now.

"Hey Aid," he called as he walked into the medibay. It looked pretty neat in here. "Heard that noise you just made, buddy. You sure you don't need a medic yourself there?" His words were light and joking, but he put enough seriousness in his tone to hopefully show the medic genuine concern. "Welcome back, by the way!"

There was a rush of embarrassment in First Aid's field, if only for a split second, as Rewind suggested that Aid see a medic. Even if it was a joke, there was some truth to it. However, this was not the time for those problems, it was time to properly greet the minibot.

"Ah, rewind! It feels like it has been so long, how have you been?"

It was such a cliche question, but Aid really had no other icebreaker that didn't involve looping the conversation back to his stress of cleaning the medbay head to toe single handedy.

"Okay, that was kind of lame of me to ask in that way, but really how have you been? It feels like literal ages since I have seen you! I mean, it sort of has. I wasn't around for quite some time and all, I'm to guess that you've got all sorts of stuff that happened since I left to talk about from being here on the ship?"

Reaching a servo up to his visor, first aid rubbed any and all traces of optic fluid that had been trapped beneath the lip of the visor. It was starting to itch, having welled up in the corner of his optics during his little stress squeal.

"I'm kinda, ah, embarrassed you heard that... Promise not to tell anyone?"

Rewind laughed. "Promise, promise. It's by far not even the weirdest thing I've caught someone doing," he added, tapping his camera with a glint in his optics. He took a look around the medibay and picked an empty recovery berth to perch on, his pedes dangling off the edge as he looked at the medic.

"I've been - I've been doing okay, more or less? I don't know how long you've been back, who else's filled you in on the various sundry adventures on this ship - your tip about the Agent 113 bullet led us to the Necrobot's planet, did you hear about that? Turns out he's just a guy with a teleporter and a spark signal detector." The knowledge of the Necrobot being nothing fantastical may have disappointed mystery-loving Nightbeat, but to Rewind it was fascinating all the same. "Me & Domey made some progress on the Dominus search there, in a sense I guess." He fiddled his fingers on the edge of the table uncomfortably. "Kinda only vague information, but we know something interesting happened with him, so much that even the Necrobot isn't totally sure if he's alive or not - and even vague information's already better than going so long with none at all. Or knowing he's dead but nothing about how it happened." He sighed quietly. He was glad to know Dominus wasn't for-sure dead, but there was still so much searching ahead of him.

"And then there was this whole mess with some psychiatrist friend of Rung's and his - I imagine Lottie's told you all about the people turned inside-out, yeah? I don't envy her having to deal with that, it was a scary time for everyone. But that's over and done with, at least." He looked back up at Aid and made as much of a mock-grimace as he could show with just his eyebrow ridges.

"How about you, though? You went back to Cybertron, how are things back there? I heard the rest of this crew stopped by not too long ago too, I wasn't here for that but people've filled me in on some of the developments since we left - still can't believe Starscream's president, that one sounds like it's a shock to everyone," he mused. So much history was happening on their homeworld right this minute as the planet and the race adjusted to the war finally being over - he should be there to record it.

But no, his own mission to find Dominus came first. He was barely doing enough to find him as it was. And finding the Knights would be a pretty historic event on its own (if it ever happened, of course.)

"And how are you as in, you? What was that noise about?" he added, hoping it didn't sound like too much of an afterthought after his curiosity about the state of Cybertron. He was genuinely concerned about whatever'd been stressing First Aid out enough to the point of - well, that noise.

Looking at the camera on Rewind's helmet, First Aid didn't once doubt that he wasn't lying. When one was constantly recording they were bound to pick up on some unsightly things. Whirl getting a pinched caught in a vending machine, Ultra Magnus's kitten sneezes. And now for the ever growing collection: First Aid stress screaming. Unlike the other two, his was far less adorable and more or less pathetic. Never the less, rewind gave his word to secrecy. Hopefully that was the truth.

Catching dangling pedes in his own optics, Aid smiled beneath the mask. He wasn't the only one who's pedes didn't make it to the floor when he sat, it was almost a relief. "Agent 113..." First aid mumbled, letting his one servos scratch nervously at his other. Agent 113 brought back memories of Springer. Springer and his bright green paint. Trailbreaker and how he'd been forced to watch as he was smashed to the inside of his own panic bubble. Swerve as he lied in the medbay, succumbing to rust poisoning. All because First Aid had been too preoccupied mourning Trailbreaker and Ambulon, throwing a pity party when the crew needed help. He swore to change.

"Cybertron is... It's trying. It has a lot of work to do still and honestly I'm happy to be here on the ship than still down on the surface." It was a bias claim. "I'm not sure where I sit about Starscream as president. But maybe that's because he forced me into a combiner team so suddenly. Either way. I've retuned and mirage and my brothers have also just returned too. They sent me ahead which was a bit painful. Don't know how much you've gotten to record about gestalt teams but separation anxiety is quite a pain in the aft."

Again with the nervous scratching. He'd strip the paint soon if he didn't ease up. It was hard not to feel anxious without his brothers around, his spark pulsing out to get no response. Thankfully the four were back on ship and could give him a nice group hug sometime soon. quelling this anxiety was proving difficult on his own.

"I wish I could have seen the necrobot though. And I wish almost that I had been hear for the whole inside-out jamboree, not that I thought it sounded like fun but to help. Lottie works hard but there's no way only one medic can be alone on a ship of this size."

"Ah, that, uh..." Now it was Aid's turn to sink to the berth and dangle his own pedes, hands folded neatly in his lap to not to accidentally brush against rewind. "I've, it's hard to be here knowing that almost every death on this ship somehow traces back to me. Not that I caused them, but I was related in some way. Red alert's ordeal I was the one to discover the why and the how, but I wasn't able to stop it. I could continue listing names and names, but it's hard to come into work and just..." He pointed to a desk, a thin layer of dust over its untouched mess. Computer terminal still lit and ready for its owner to put in the password and continue typing their report.

"It's hard to accept that he's never coming back. I'm not sure I'll ever fully move on from this. Though of the crew members, you'd understand where I'm coming from the most. I don't like this feeling of trying to move on with my life and feeling guilty for doing so afterwards. Now any time something small occurs on ship I immediately feel stressed to the limit, I suppose."
