Velocity regarded him for a bit, expression still unreadable. And it did take some time for her to respond beyond that. With the fizz--and the suspicion--gone from her field, it switched abruptly to, well, sympathy. Her expression finally softened to match.

"You know, Aid...you don't need to come back to work right away. I think...now that everybody's right-side out again, I can handle it on my own for a couple days. If you need a breather, I mean..."

"Lottie I'm not stepping back anymore. I've been gone enough, too long if you ask me. I should have been here when, you know, inside out bad times where happening. And I should have been here even before that. I shouldn't have left as soon as we found the bullet in swerve's brand."

Swerve's brand. That bullet from agent 113. Springer's trust in him. That was an entire set of other issues. Oh Springer, Aid hoped he was doing well.

"I'm a little stressed and rightfully so. Lottie we both just need to try to keep smiling. I can feel like pit and back, but I won't let anyone else on this ship suffer because I'm sitting around feeling sorry for myself."

This whole scenario was unpleasant. But there was one thing Aid needed to confirm, otherwise he'd be on edge as soon as he punched out for his shift.

"Lottie... Please don't touch his desk..."

She still seemed to be of the opinion that he needed a day or two to re-adjust to the ship (and the new and inventive ways to have crew members hurt themselves), but she didn't argue further. It was only partly because she knew it would only stress him out more.

"Not touch what now?" She hadn't really touched any of the other desks while she was there--mostly because she hadn't had the time to root through anything while she'd been there. They'd been too busy.

Turning slowly, Aid pointed to the desk behind him. It was still covered in its clutter, nothing dirty though. It was an organized clutter. Something Ambulon could have made sense of easily if asked for anything. It matched his personality really, Aid was positive if he started going through his documents that he'd find paint chips as well.

"Ambulon's desk. Promise me you won't touch it."

Out of respect, Aid hadn't touched it. Least that's what he claimed. It was more that he physically couldn't bring himself near the thing before his optics were full of fluid. Ratchet had told him not to worry about cleaning it last he had tried to do so, so aid had left it as is. He hadn't remembered much of that day, other than curling up on one of the patient berths and taking a needed recharge. Ratchet hadn't stopped him, figuring the junior medic hadn't slept since it all happened. He'd be right.

"... I really loved him, Lottie. What Pharma did was... Vile... Pharma always had his way to try and tear us medics apart somehow... I thought treating Cosmic Rust would be the end the horrors I would see by his hands and, primus, I never wanted to be so wrong."

Velocity unfolded herself from where she'd unceremoniously let herself drop, and gave them a companionable (if not somewhat awkward) pat on the back.

"I'm sorry--really. No one should have to go through that." She'd heard the stories! "And I won't touch his desk. Promise."

She made a gesture that suggested making an solemn oath--probably a Camien thing--but she seemed sincere about the promise.

"Thanks Lottie..."

Her word was enough to pacify him. Aid had no doubts about Lottie keeping to her word, least for the moment.

The gravity of everything was starting to finally pull the CMO back down to the ground. Sighing heavily, slouched forwards, he couldn't think of a place he'd rather be over the medbay.

"Lottie this ship would be such a mess without us, huh...?"

As terrible of a motivator it was, it held some truth. It felt good to be of use, to say the least.

She smiled, giving one final companionable squeeze before sitting back down.

"Nope. They'd all be in trouble without us."

...which was actually true as of late!

Looking to the clock, turns out they hadn't been talking nearly as long as it had felt. That being said, this left them lots of time to get stuff in order. While Aid had scrubbed the place top to bottom and gotten files organized, there was still a lot to do.

"So, Lottie." Aid started, getting up slowly. Eventually he dragged his chair back to his desk, moving a bit stiffly. He had been slouched for awhile. "Tailgate said you did a lot of testing on him. Mind if I see those files? I'd also like to see anything you have documented on Cyclonus's recent injuries. Just so we can put our heads together about if Cyclonus will need some kind of PT program to get him back in top shape, or if Tailgate will in fact need to come back down for testing."

Poor little minibot. If Aid could, he'd rather not drag them down to the bay again for the medics to poke and prod. There was only so much they could get away with before Tailgate might actually snap angirly. While it was a reasonable request on the medics part, it was hard work still to try and corral their patients to come down.

"Um--sure. Here." With a little rooting she found the right data pad--pads, actually, since she'd tried to use a different one for each kind of injury. It was the only way she'd managed to keep them straight.

She did, however, try to keep from commenting on how stiff he seemed; she still thought he needed to take a day off to rest.

"Tailgaite," she just handed him the pad--it was easier!, "And then Cyclonus' should be the first one on this one. I need to get him down here one more time before I make any decisions about PT. He's a little rough, but he looks like he's moving okay? I don't know--he plays things close to the spark; it's always hard to tell."

"Trust me Lottie, they both are very reluctant to accept the help we can offer them. I'm not sure if tailgate's case is simply because they don't want to be at they bay, or maybe they're just tired of being poked at. I just wish it was easier to get through to them that I'm not checking up on them so much because I can, it's because as their doctor it's our duty to make sure they're in optimal health."

First aid swiped through the first set of files, most of his own notes filled in any blanks pn Lottie's. Still, skimming would suffice for now. He'd still have to have either himself or Lottie do another physical on Tailgate to be certain.

"As for Cyclonus, I want to believe he's more accepting to help. When I got on board he was very determined to do everything his way. I don't get to see him often, but he's warmed up from that lone wolf status he tried to set for himself. Consciously or not, you can argue either case. Still, his damage worries me. Even if he seems to be moving fine, I'm not sure if there's an underlying issue that will uproot itself too late. A lot of optic issues work in that way."

He gestures to his visor before lowering the datapad once more.

"You said he was full of bulletholes? Mostly on the armor or did any make contact with vitals?"

"Clipped, but not overly damaged. The damage was from behind, so there was a lot of armor to punch through to get to anything important.
It should be fine. Should. But I've been meaning to get him back in for a followup. I can do a check then," she offered.

(OOC: Because that's what I'm dong with Cyclonus in another thread right now lol))

"Mmmm that's about all we can do, really, so thank you Lottie for staying on top-top with this stuff. Not that I think less of you, I'm just pleased that you're already taking the needed steps before I can even ask them of you"

That helped his visor beam a little, least something good was happening. Not that Cyclonus being shot up anywhere was a good thing, but that he was cooperating with Lottie was a good sign.

"Have there been any other injuries? Missing or reattached fingers, maybe optic repairs? Especially optic repairs, so many optical issues remain dormant unless check ups are done regularly. Photon blasts especially, can make you blind from the exposure on the optics if you're not careful."

She sat up a little straighter at that. Lottie was--despite everything--still fresh out of school! So she'd been in school a long time in attempts to pass her licensure test...that was beside the point. (And only Nautica needed to know about that part!) It was just putting more wind in her sails--particularly with all the decidedly not normal happenings!

"Optic replacements? Sola's Forge I think someone shoots an optic out at least every other day, here," she half groaned. "I'll have to go through my notes again to see who needs a follow up."

"Yeah tell me about it. If it's not a punched or shot optic I'm jamming someone's arms back into their sockets."

A tasteless joke, but Aid was almost happy Whirl had no fingers, because by now he was positive that they'd all be blown or cut off. Not that, well, what happened to whirl was fair or just. Pinchers were just easier to lose than digits. He'd keep that to himself, no need to offend anyone at the sake of an innocent joke.

"If you could eventually get me a list of those follow ups I would be more than happy to contact and engage them! There's just so much that needs to get done it seems, not that you haven't been working hard. It's just a job for five at a minimum and for awhile it has just been you, I'm sorry for my absence. Anyways. Let's see what else needs to get accomplished..."

Aid tapped his mouthpiece thoughtfully, trying even think what they could do next. He frowned at Ambulon's desk, trying to recall what he has been working on last. Quickly he shifted gears.

"Ah, we should eventually get around to restocking the crash carts. Not that there's no supplies, but I worry that the energon we have in there could use replacing. I know I hadn't updated it since I got on board, I doubt ratchet has either."

Lottie nodded in response, tossing her other data pad onto her desk. He'd--whether thankfully or not--derailed from his own adventures for the time being. But, well, she had a lot to distract her.

"Sure--let's start there. When we're done, I can look through my files and send you on a list. We might actually be able to work through it if we're both reminding them." She stretched a bit, working a crick out of her back. "I do still want to try and get Tailgate in, though. The last thing I want is their spark to start shrinking on us. I still don't know if...whatever hapened is going to hurt him in the end."
