Trailcutter had been out drinking, again. Why had he been drinking, you ask? Well, besides the usual reasons, like his horrible self esteem, Trailcutter had been through a lot in the past week. He had woken up in a different universe, found out he was dead in said universe, got into a huge bar fight that resulted in him getting his visor broken, lost an optic, and got a broken nose. At least he got all of those fixed afterwords. After that, he was thrown in the brig, and he couldn't even remember what he did in the fight to get put there. Well, on the bright side, he'd gotten a chance to get to know someone new. She wasn't much of a talker, but they had talked for a little bit before they where released from the brig.

So now here he was, stumbling down the halls as he tried to make his way to his hab. At least, he thought he was going to his hab. In reality he had somehow made his way down to the Decepti-Cabana. A funny name for a floor, really. Luckily for Trailcutter, he hadn't come across any of the Decepticons so far. It wasn't like there was a whole bunch of them running around, there was really only a handful at most, but sometimes that's all it took. And there he was, lost, drunk, and trying to find his hab. And failing horribly.

'None of this looks familiar at all.' Trailcutter thought as he walked down a dimly lit hallway. He was so confused, he could have sworn he went down the right hallways. Well, he might as well keep going, maybe he could find an elevator and start fresh from a floor he was more familiar with. Trailcutter continued walking for a while, but kept getting the feeling of being watched. Whenever he turned to look, there was no one there. He tried to brush it off, thinking that maybe the engex was making him paranoid. Eventually he started to get a little tired from all the walking and figured he could rest somewhere for a bit. Walking into a nearby room, he looked around and realized that it was an observation deck. He could definitely relax here for a little while. It'd be nice to gaze at the stars for a while.

Trailcutter made his way over to the large window that stretched along the wall and decided to sit down on the floor. He crossed his legs as he sat, feeling himself sober up a little bit as he stared out the window. For a moment he was calm as he looked at the far off stars and planets slowly passing by. As he sat and admired the view, that strange feeling of being watched came again, only much stronger this time. So much for being calm. After a few seconds, he decided to look and see if anyone was there. He turned slightly, without moving from his spot, and as he did so he saw that someone was indeed there this time.

'I don't think I've ever seen him before.' Trailcutter thought as he continued to look at the mech. He had mostly red armor, and had coils on his shoulders. As he looked, Trailcutter also noticed one really important feature. The mech didn't have any optics. What happened to this poor mech? What happened to make him lose his optics? Why didn't he get them replaced? Trailcutter realized he'd been staring at the poor mech long enough, and decided to say something to him.

"Hey, sorry, I didn't know you where there. I'm not intruding on your space, am I?" Trailcutter asked. He really hoped he wasn't intruding, the view in this room was really nice, after all. He stared at the mech again, and after another moment a more important question crossed his mind. "What's your name? Are you one of the Decepticons?"

Kaon had been following the energy signature since shortly after he'd first recognised it, surprise fading into curiosity as he slipped out of he and Vos' shared habsuite as silently has he could. He'd first assumed the noises - loud noises, at that - were from one of the other Decepticons restricted to this level of the ship; likely not one of the so-called Scavengers, who had taken up as far away from the DJD's quarters as possible and were, generally, quiet. Whoever this was either cared little about the racket they were making or weren't aware, so it was either Skywarp - and Kaon's plans for him ran a little longer than catching him alone and unaware in the hall - or someone else.

He'd just decided that he didn't care when the energy signature hit him, familiar and not Decepticon in origin. He'd hissed, softly, grinning; it was about time he'd found something on this ship for entertainment.

Kaon hadn't bothered to remember the Autobot's name, back on Ofsted, but since arriving on this damned ship it'd been thrown at him from every Autobot, spat with hatred and vitriol. Trailcutter was lurching and stumbling along the hallway, occasionally pausing to peer at the plaques next to the doors lining the hall. He was clearly, to borrow an Autobot term, completely Star Sabered - and yet not entirely oblivious to Kaon's presence. More than twice he found himself quickly ducking into an empty room as Trailcutter turned around, scanning the hallway behind him; Kaon huffed inwardly. He wasn't exactly an accomplished lurker like Vos, but failing at trailing a drunken Autobot - one he'd taken by surprise and killed already - would really be adding insult to injury.

Eventually the Autobot entered one of the rooms instead of just examining it, and Kaon paused as he weighed his options. Vos was likely going to be out after him soon, but Kaon's curiosity still wasn't sated. He assumed Trailcutter was present, alive, because of the same series of events that had led to his and Vos' arrival on the ship, but that didn't explain why he'd wandered onto the Decepticon-only floor (Kaon was never going to call it by its 'official' title. Rodimus could stick his creativity up his exhaust) unless it was just sheer drunken stupidity, but that didn't quite ring true, either - out of the entire ship, Kaon figured this one would be the most heavily discouraged from coming down here.

Especially with Kaon around.

He entered the room, his sensor net picking up the vastness and drop in temperature, the wall lined with windows instead of metal - an observation deck, then. He felt his lips twitch upwards, briefly. Trailcutter was a huddle of warmth and the stench of engex in the middle of the floor before the windows, presumably enjoying the view. After a moment he felt the vibrations of a mech tensing, and Trailcutter turned.

"Hey, sorry, I didn't know you where there. I'm not intruding on your space, am I? What's your name? Are you one of the Decepticons?"

Kaon let the silence linger, keeping his not-gaze focused squarely on the other mech's face. He let it linger just on the edge of uncomfortable before breaking out in a grin that was mostly teeth, raising his arms.

"Oh, no, you're fine. This is your ship, after all." He swept an arm out, indicating he meant the Autobots as a whole, rather than just Trailcutter. "I'm only a guest." He didn't remember Kaon. At all. This was more fun than he could've hoped for. It was all he could do keep his EM field drawn close, hiding his amusement, as he stepped further into the room, closer to Trailcutter; he tapped the golden symbol on his collar once, twice, still grinning.

"Kaon. Yours?"

When the mysterious mech grinned at him, Trailcutter couldn't help but feel a little unnerved. He quickly shrugged the feeling off, deciding that it was the engex making him more paranoid than necessary. After all, you shouldn't judge a mech by his smile, no matter how creepy it was.

"Oh, no, you're fine. This is your ship, after all."

Trailcutter assumed he meant that the ship belonged to the Autobots, therefore he could go anywhere he wanted, but that wasn't necessarily true. From what he knew, the ship had been given as a gift to Rodimus, so technically the Lost Light was a privately owned ship. It didn't belong to the Autobots. It was owned by an Autobot, yes, but that was just it. It belonged to an individual, not the whole. The ship itself had no official affiliation with anyone except the captain and crew, which consisted of Autobots, Neutrals, and now Decepticons.

"You know, it isn't just Autobots on this ship. Didn't even start out with a one hundred percent Autobot crew. You may be a guest, but as long as you're on this ship, you're entitled to have your own space just like everyone else, no matter what others on this ship think. That's how I see it, anyway." Trailcutter turned slightly to look out the window again as he sighed. "So, next time, if I happen to intrude on you and you don't want me around, just say the word and I'll leave you be, okay?"

Sometimes Trailcutter wondered if he was too nice sometimes, or if he was just really naive. He preferred to think it was the former. After all, deep down they were all just Cybertronians, right? They all had sparks within them, they all had thoughts and feelings, just like everything else in the universe. He turned back to look at the mech just in time to see him tap at his collar. The gesture caused him to notice the golden Decepticon symbol.

"Kaon. Yours?"

Kaon. That name seemed familiar for some reason. Probably because it was a city back on Cybertron. But, even considering that fact, Trailcutter felt that wasn't the main reason the name was so familiar. He could have heard the name being mentioned before on the ship, it was certainly possible. Trailcutter overheard a lot of things at the bar, most that he never remembered unless it was brought up again. Oh well, the answer would probably come to him later.

"Kaon. Like the city on Cybertron? Neat. So you are a Decepticon, huh? That's cool, I guess. My name's Trailcutter, but some of my friends call me Teebs. It's nice to meet you." Trailcutter gave his signature smirk, but realized very quickly that Kaon wouldn't be able to see it. Oops. He felt a little bad about that, but then figured that even if Kaon couldn't see it, it would show in the tone of his voice. Trailcutter looked out at the stars again and then wondered if Kaon would like to join him. He may not be able to see the stars outside, but some company wouldn't hurt, right?

"Hey, Kaon, would you like to join me? I know you can't see an' all, but we could always talk and stuff. You don't have to if you don't want to, though." He said as he turned to look back at Kaon.

As Trailcutter waited for a response, he started to feel a little hungry, so he reached into his subspace and pulled out a box of assorted energon bonbons. He may not be full of fancy secret compartments like Rung, but he did carry a lot of snacks and candies on him in what little spaces he did have. He just loved the rust flavored stuff. Maybe Kaon would want something to munch on, too. He figured he should offer some of his snacks to Kaon. Besides, he didn't like eating alone, it made him feel pretty pathetic.

"You want any of these bonbons? They're assorted, so there's plenty of flavors to choose from if you want any. And I have some other stuff if you don't like bonbons. " Trailcutter set the box down beside him, opened the box, took a rust flavored bonbon out and popped it into his mouth. It had been a while since he'd had one, and he let out a content hum as he swallowed the treat. He felt calm and at peace, just sitting and eating bonbons while gazing out the window. Trailcutter let a small smile grace his face. For the first time in a long while he felt truly content, even if he was in the company of a Decepticon.

Kaon resisted the urge to snort and cross his arms. Whatever the other mech thought, no ship with any amount of Autobots around - including ones at the helm - was going to stay any sort of neutral for long. If he sincerely believed what he was saying, then he was more naive than Kaon'd originally assumed. Or more drunk.

"Kaon. Like the city on Cybertron? Neat. So you are a Decepticon, huh? That's cool, I guess. My name's Trailcutter, but some of my friends call me Teebs. It's nice to meet you."

"Yes, just like the city." The first to be liberated by the Decepticons; the place where Megatron began his army in the pits. He somehow doubted the Autobot would appreciate the history lesson. "Charmed." Teebs wasn't making any moves to exit in a hurry, the outline of his frame staying still and relaxed in his chosen spot on the floor; any lingering doubts of this one being from his timeline vanished. Pit, he didn't even seem to know of the DJD if he considered meeting Kaon nice - or he was so blazingly smashed that he was no longer consciously aware of the danger.

He wondered how much the other Autobots had told him. Hm.

The room was silent for a moment, and then Trailcutter extended his little invitation, and Kaon gave in and did cross his arms. It was one thing to sit there and casually speak to him from across the observation deck, but asking your murderer to have a friendly little sit-down was a little beyond Kaon's scope of expertise. Even if Trailcutter wasn't aware Kaon was the reason his alternate self was absent from the ship, just blithely asking a strange Decepticon for a chat was leaving the territory of naive and entering sheer stupidity. Perhaps those force fields of his were the only reason he'd made it as far as Ofsted in the first place?

A rustling interrupted Kaon's thoughts and he tensed; with the inhibitor claw and all the other nice little modifications the Autobot medics had seen fit to give him he could barely pull a charge anymore, but he could at least stun Trailcutter long enough to make it back to Vos. His sensor net locked onto Trailcutter's shifting form, generator kicking into standby-

"You want any of these bonbons?"

-before abruptly shutting back down. Kaon imagined the little noise it made sounded just a bit sad, and choked down a laugh. This entire situation was absurd. The tension bled from his frame, plating relaxing, and he decided what the hell. If anything, imagining Rodimus' potential reaction to this little meeting was enough motivation to nudge him across the room and onto the floor near the other mech, leaving a good deal of space between them.

"What flavours do you have."

Trailcutter sat there, calm and relaxed. He knew he should probably have been more cautious, seeing as Kaon was a Decepticon, but for some reason he just didn't feel threatened by him. It was like his spark was telling him that everything would be fine. Trailcutter always listened to his spark, no matter what the situation was. It had never steered him wrong before, so why not continue to listen to it?

"Yes, just like the city."

It was really interesting that Kaon was named after a Cybertronian city. Mechs weren't usually named after cities or landscapes unless there was a special reason for it. It was a shame that the city didn't really exist anymore. Hardly any of the original cities and landscapes existed anymore, the planet had essentially been 'reborn'.

Something kept nagging at him in the back of his head about Kaon's name. Maybe he should try to get more information about him, maybe then this feeling of familiarity would make sense. Hopefully he sobered up soon, that would definitely help the situation. Fortunately, for once, he needed four times a much fuel than the average Cybertronian just to function properly, because of how he was forged. Because of this, he was already slowly burning off the Engex. Not as quickly as he would have liked, but that couldn't be helped. Unless he decided to go force field crazy, he'd have to wait. He didn't know how long, but he hadn't drank as much as he usually did, so with any luck it'd only take an hour or two at the very least.

Trailcutter made sure the box of bonbons was placed properly on the floor, so if Kaon decided to come over they both could reach them easily. He looked up when he heard movement, and saw Kaon making his way over. He noticed that when Kaon sat at down, he'd left quite a bit of space between them. It was understandable that he didn't want to sit too close, what Decepticon wanted to sit close to an Autobot? At least he'd decided to come over, that was a start.

"What flavours do you have?"

Trailcutter was a little surprised but happy that Kaon accepted his offer to sit and share. In Trailcutter's experience, Decepticons usually wouldn't want anything offered to them by Autobots, even with the war over. Though of course it was completely understandable, all things considered.

"Let's see, there's silver, mercury, acid, rust, chrome, gold, an' copper. I have plenty more snacks so you can go on ahead an' help yourself." Trailcutter pushed the box further over to Kaon so he could reach it better. He never would have thought he'd be sitting there sharing bonbons and chatting with a Decepticon. This had been one crazy week for him, that was for sure. He wondered what Kaon's week had been like. It had probably been better than his, but there was no harm in asking, right?

"So how's your week been? Mine's been pretty hectic. I mean, it's not everyday you wake up in an alternate universe an' meet a dead friend who's alive an' well." Trailcutter figured he could share how his week went, that maybe it would help Kaon open up more. Perhaps he'd gotten caught up in that bar fight too. Hopefully he hadn't gotten hurt if he did. Trailcutter reached over and grabbed another bonbon, tossing it into his mouth.

Kaon was fairly certain the candies weren't poisoned. Trailcutter was still alive, after all. Still, after grabbing one - and belatedly realising he couldn't tell what the hell flavour it was - he held onto it, the sweet caged in a loose fist.

"So how's your week been? Mine's been pretty hectic. I mean, it's not everyday you wake up in an alternate universe an' meet a dead friend who's alive an' well."

He opened his mouth and promptly closed it, a frown pulling at his face. Lying was always an option - more often than not the most convenient and the most fun, and he wasn't really keen on telling every random Autobot about how he'd "woken up" vomiting and having a seizure in a storage closet. Something about the other mech - his field? - was making him want to tell the truth, though. It was thoroughly annoying. Kaon remembered ripping his brain module straight out of his helm; discussing his week with Trailcutter over sweets was such a wild contrast that his processor was struggling to keep up, insisting the other mech was dead.

Kaon didn't like feeling this disoriented.

"Painful. Apparently something about the universe-shifting process decided to glitch when it was my turn." A compromise, he supposed. The urge to slam Trailcutter's head into the windows increased slightly; why was he bothering to make an effort? He could almost hear Vos ticking at him in disappointment. "Are there...many here, who were dead where you came from?"

If nothing else, he could at least try to gather information.

Trailcutter watched as Kaon seemed to want to say something and then decide otherwise. He seemed deep in thought, as if he was trying to figure out was to say. Say what you want about Trailcutter, but he was far more perceptive than most mechs give him credit for. He didn't need an EM field to tell that Kaon had been stressed by his earlier question. It was understandable, really. What Decepticon would trust and Autobot with any kind of personal information? Trailcutter hoped he was at least coming off as trustworthy, if nothing else. He'd never betray another mech's trust in any way, shape, or form.

"Painful. Apparently something about the universe-shifting process decided to glitch when it was my turn."

Trailcutter couldn't help but feel a bit bad for Kaon. It wasn't pity, exactly, it was more like compassion. Sure, Kaon was a Decepticon, but it wasn't fair that Kaon's experience had to be painful. Trailcutter didn't know what exact kind of pain Kaon must have went through, but it must be bad if he didn't want to elaborate. Whatever it was, he hoped Kaon had at least gotten help quick.

"Oh, I'm sorry. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Trailcutter meant it, too. Kaon's business was his own. Although, Trailcutter couldn't help but find it strange. Why did Kaon experience pain, when Trailcutter and all the others he'd talked to didn't feel pain at all? Maybe it was just a glitch, as Kaon called it. Or maybe it was something else. Oh well, there was no point in speculating at the moment.

"Are there... many here, who were dead where you came from?"

Trailcutter was a little surprised by the question, but could understand why Kaon would want to ask. Well, Kaon had answered his question, so it was only fair that Trailcutter answered his. He shifted a bit to get more comfortable, then relaxed again before answering the question.

"Well, yeah, a few. There's Pipes, Rewind, and uh... Oh, Ambulon, too." He was grateful that they were all alive and mostly well in this universe. Sure, some of them may have had some traumas or other issues, but they were here and that's what mattered. "I'm thankful that they're all here, everything just seemed darker without them around, you know? Oh, I think Pharma's here, too. I didn't really know him, but I knew he was dead."

Thinking about his now-living friends, it got Trailcutter thinking, and he hummed to himself as he fell deep into thought. He still didn't know how he died, no one would tell him, but in all honesty he didn't really want to know. Not that he didn't care or anything, he just didn't see the point in knowing anymore. Hell, he was alive and well now, wasn't he? That should be enough. Athough, everyone seemed to know about it, he could see the sadness and pain in their optics sometimes when they looked at him. It had to have been pretty bad if they where that upset about it.

Then there were some mechs that seemed a little overprotective, Rodimus among them. He had actually gone out of his way to tell Trailcutter to not go anywhere near the Decepti-Cabana, and even had him promise that he wouldn't go there. Trailcutter did end up promising, but he found the whole thing strange. Yes, they're Decepticons, but they're not all bad. Some Autobots can and have been just as bad, if not worse, than some Decepticons. He'd obviously broken the promise, even if it wasn't intentional, but what Rodimus didn't know couldn't hurt him. Now that Trailcutter thought about it, though, maybe it was a Decepticon that killed him? Then Rodimus not wanting him anywhere near the Decepti-Cabana would make sense. But all the Decepticons on this floor came from other universes, didn't they? So maybe things would be okay this time.

As he thought more about it, he got that feeling again. The feeling that he should tell Kaon what was on his mind. He didn't know why, but something was just compelling him to tell Kaon about what he thought about his death. He didn't really see the point in telling him, but the feeling persisted nonetheless. Trailcutter sighed to himself. He was so confused, but he had listened to the feeling before and things turned out fine. Why would now be any different? After realizing he had been lost in thought for an extended period of time, he turned to Kaon to apologize.

"Sorry, I got lost in thought for a moment there. I wasn't trying to ignore you or anything, I just have a lot on my mind, is all."

Trailcutter then noticed that Kaon still had the bonbon in his hand that he'd picked up before. It took a moment for him to realize that Kaon probably didn't know which flavor he had grabbed. Trailcutter felt like hitting himself. Primus, he was so stupid, of course Kaon wouldn't be able to figure out what the flavor was, he couldn't see.

"Do-... Do you know which flavor you grabbed? Do you want some help?" Tailcutter asked, hoping he didn't offend Kaon. That was something he never wanted to do. He was really hoping to completely sober up soon, that way he hopefully wouldn't make another blunder like that. Kaon hadn't needed to stay with him, he'd chosen to stay. Trailcutter didn't want to chase him off by seeming inconsiderate.

Trailcutter, Kaon decided, was too slagging nice. It was beginning to border on unnerving. Kaon's theory of him surviving the war only due to those shields of his was starting to sound more and more like it was actually the case.

The names of the dead bots earned a thoughtful, barely-perceptible hum. Ambulon, the filthy traitor from Delphi; his defection and placement so close to the DJD's headquarters was what had spurred on that "deal" with the stuck-up CMO. And he was here on the ship too - delightful. Kaon couldn't wait to meet him again.

Pipes he didn't really know much of - or care about, to be honest, but Rewind. His continued existence was something he and Vos would have to look into - with any luck he belonged to this Lost Light, but if he was one of the new arrivals...

Pit. If he left now to report to Vos Trailcutter would get suspicious - there was a chance he was too drunk to notice, but on the off-chance he wasn't, Kaon didn't feel like blowing him off and losing his first real source of information on the ship so quickly. If Trailcutter left and told Rodimus about this meeting then it was sure to come down on his head; if he played it right, though, he could probably get the overcharged mech to keep this little meeting a secret. Maybe even set up another - Kaon had a feeling he could wring a lot of information from Teebs under the guise of friendly questions. He was certainly naive enough to go blabbing about his personal life to a Decepticon, after all.

"Sorry, I got lost in thought for a moment there. I wasn't trying to ignore you or anything, I just have a lot on my mind, is all."

"Hm?" Kaon dragged himself from his thoughts, felt his face twitch in mounting irritation as Trailcutter noticed the candy. "No, it's fine. Really. How are the rest of the crew taking all this..." he waved a hand in the air, making a general gesture. "...stuff?"

Trailcutter noticed Kaon's face twitched in what looked like irritation. Trailcutter assumed that it was because Kaon didn't like being dependent on anyone for anything, even if it was to sort through candy. He hadn't meant to irritate him, but some things just coudn't be helped he supposed. Maybe he should ease up a bit. After all, Kaon seemed to be getting slightly uncomfortable with all the attention.

"Well, alright, if you're sure." Trailcutter figured he may as well apologize to Kaon. He just couldn't help himself sometimes, he just really liked being nice. Unless he was previously upset and heavily drinking, of course, then he could be very bitter. "Sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable with all this niceness."

"How are the rest of the crew taking all this...stuff?"

"As well as they should, I guess. A little tense and agitated about the situation, but considering everything, it's not too uncalled for. I think that's probably why that bar fight at Swerve's escalated like it did." Trailcutter remembered just how brutal that fight had been. Not from his memory, but from Rewind, who was more than happy to show the video he took of the fight.

Trailcutter now knew what had happened during the fight, at least for the most part. He never realized how brutal some of his friends could be. He'd also felt bad for hitting Ten (even if it had been an accident), and had apologized to the bouncer, who was fortunately understanding of the whole thing. Swerve, however, was a different story. Trailcutter hoped Swerve forgave him soon. He still caught Swerve glaring at him every now and then. The force field specialist subconsciously reached up and touched his visor, more specifically where his right optic was. He was glad that his visor and optic got fixed. He was practically blind without his visor, only a select few knew this. Without it, he could only see to about arm's length. Just as quickly as his thought process derailed, Trailcutter realized he had been quiet for too long again.

"Sorry, I let my mind wander again. So where was I? Oh, right, how everyone's taking the situation." Trailcutter rubbed the back of his head. He felt a little silly about his wandering mind, it had been happening a lot lately. At least Kaon seemed patient with him so far, aside from the irritation. "Well I know Megatron, Rodimus, an' the science department are doing their best to find out what happened, and maybe send some of us back to our own universes, but so far they can't seem to figure it out. The mechs that crossed over seem to be settling in well enough, and the other members of this Lost Light are coping as best as they can. So all an' all, everyone seems fine so far. Well, as fine as they can be."

Now that he'd mentioned Rodimus, Trailcutter sighed as he thought of everyone and how they'd been treating him since he arrived. Like he was some fragile thing that needed protection from every little thing. Rodimus was usually the main offender. It wasn't that Trailcutter didn't appreciate it, but the over-protection got a little annoying after a while. He gave another sigh, finally feeling himself sober up a bit.

"But then there's me. I suppose I'm doing fine, but it's just... I just wish everyone wasn't so protective of me. It was nice at first, but now... Now it's just annoying. I know that their Trailcutter died an' all, but I can take care of myself. I'm not as stupid an' naive as everyone thinks. I'm just good natured, that's all!" Trailcutter felt a rant coming on, but he couldn't stop it. How long had it been since he'd been this agitated? Trailcutter stood up and started to pace, as he spoke, his voice getting a little louder with each sentence."Did you know Rodimus actually forbid me from coming anywhere near this floor? He said it was for my own good, an' that he just wanted me to be safe, so that they don't lost me the same way again. What does that even mean? He even made me promise not to come down here, under any circumstances! What if I get drunk, like how this happened? I can't always control where I go when I'm drunk! Sure I burn through a charge quicker than others, but not quick enough to realize where I am or where I'm going before it's too late! Oh, and then he said if I broke my promise, I'd be put in the brig! The brig! And then when I'm let out I'd have to have a chaperon! A chaperon to follow me around everywhere! I don't know if he'll go through with that, but you can bet I'm never telling him about this. You know what? We should keep meeting here, swap comm numbers or something, set up meetings! Why not? I''m feeling rebellious! Primus, this whole thing is enough to make me want to punch a wall! I know they want to keep me safe, that they want to protect me an' all, but I'm not their Trailcutter!"

Trailcutter stopped pacing, took several deep breaths, and gave a resigned sigh as he reached up to rub his forehead. He started to feel a slight headache coming on. He took a minute to calm down before slowly walking back over toward Kaon and sitting back down. Trailcutter looked down at the ground and spoke softly with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I'm not their Trailcutter. I'm not the one they lost. I may be Trailcutter, but I'm not him." He paused for another moment before speaking again. "I'm sorry, Kaon. I'm sorry you had to hear me rant like that. It's just frustrating."

Trailcutter supposed that he did want to know about the other Trailcutter's death, if only to understand why everyone else acted the way they did around him. That feeling from before eased up some, but it was steadily being replaced with the growing headache. He had so many questions running through his head, it was starting to make his headache worse.

So. The ship's scientists were looking for a way to send everyone back, were they? Kaon turned that thought over in his processor, thinking of Vos - given the choice, would he want to go back, return the universe where he'd been left to die? Would he be given a choice? And Kaon himself - his violent, messy entrance into this universe, so unlike all the others, didn't bode well for wherever he came from, but nobody seemed to think much of the implications. For all their sanctimonious self-praise, the Autobots cared little for anyone not sporting their badge. Kaon wouldn't put it past them to send Vos - and himself - off without their own input. He clenched his hands, forced himself to ex-vent slowly and ignore the the itch of his generator begging to start. He would discuss this with Vos, later.

Kaon snapped back to the conversation at hand, proximity sensors pinging as Trailcutter abruptly stood and began pacing. He kept his face in the mech's direction, tracking his movements with his sensornet, frame tensing slightly - his anger didn't seem directed at Kaon, but he hadn't survived this long by ignoring his instincts.

If Kaon hadn't already experienced the mech's personality back on Ofsted, he'd have suspected Trailcutter of setting up some kind of ambush. As it was...It seemed as though the Autobots were encouraging dissent in their ranks by withholding information from their crew. Subtle manipulations were more Ta- more a certain someone else's thing, but Kaon wasn't just about to leave this opportunity sitting on the ground, rubbing his head.

"I'm not their Trailcutter. I'm not the one they lost. I may be Trailcutter, but I'm not him."

"That's true," Kaon said, letting a little bit of earnestness into his voice. "Whatever happened to their Trailcutter - they shouldn't be expecting so much of you. Threatening your freedom aboard this ship-" and he really had to resist the sarcasm leaking into his words now, "-isn't fair. I'm certain he's only concerned for your safety, but there's a line and he's on the verge of crossing it." Belatedly, Kaon realised the candy he'd been holding had gotten crushed earlier; he could feel crumbs working their way into the joints of his fingers. Great. "Especially since all of us down here are harmless." Not entirely a lie; everyone had been disarmed and he and Vos were mode-locked, thanks to the inhibitor claws. Not that Vos couldn't get creative with anything that happened to be lying around, but nobody needed to know that. "Now, Tra- Teebs. I don't want you getting in trouble or anything, but if you do really want to keep meeting up, I wouldn't be entirely opposed. We don't get many visitors down here, as you can imagine.

"And if you ever need someone to just listen, I'm always here to lend an audial." Kaon aimed his best, least frightening smile in Trailcutter's direction.
