[tw: getaway mentions abound] Skids would usually take his drinking to Swerve's, sitting at a table with a handful of the friends he'd made on board, laughing at jokes and stories, and piecing together some of the things he was missing. Spending time with his friends, friends he'd never have made if he hadn't ended up on the Lost Light, meant a lot to him, especially given the parts of his past he did remember. Friendships hadn't been at the top of his priority list for a long time and, so far as he could recall, he hadn't ever been that great at making friends in the first place; his days at the academy had probably been some of the few times in his life where he'd had friends in his fellow students. The war had made it difficult to maintain a lot of those friendships and they'd all become distant in the millions of years since their academy days. And in the time after the big, troublesome gap in his memories, Skids couldn't recall being much in the mood for friendship. Getaway had insisted they'd been friends, but he wasn't convinced that the other mech had been telling the truth. He couldn't remember his time working for Prowl that well, but something told him that he hadn't spent that time befriending Getaway. As genuine as the friendship with Getaway had felt after Luna-1, the other mech's manipulations with Tailgate made Skids suspicious that he was another victim of Getaway's lies. He refused to go down to the brig to question Getaway, though. Not only did he know he wouldn't get any answers from the escapologist, but he didn't trust himself to keep his anger in check. The friends that Skids had made since coming on board the Lost Light would usually be great company - Rung would have a model with him to work on; Nautica would be ready to chat his audio receptors out about some of the Camien literature that Skids was interested in; Brainstorm would be showing off designs for his latest abomination of science. Swerve would be happily serving drinks, joining in the banter occasionally, and laughter would be bouncing off the walls of the bar. Normally, Skids would be there, laughing right along with his friends. Not tonight, though. Oddly enough, he wasn't in the mood. Though "Visages" was newly reopened, there were only a handful of customers and the quieter atmosphere of the classier bar was ideal for Skids' mood and need for less of a crowd. Skids approached the bar, ordered a bottle of the best the menu had to offer, and took it and a glass to a table in the corner. He just needed a quiet night, that was all. |

Of the few bots in "Visages" a femme was among them, she had a piece of paper on the table as she drew on it,next to her hand was a glass almost full to the top showing how she had not taken to many drinks from it. She didn't notice much as she didn't need to look up too much in "Visages" as she did at Swerve's, not many bots meaning bots with wandering optics that would land on her and wouldn't move till her own glared at them. That's normally what happened every time she would go to the mini bot's bar,the staring, whispering, the bots who can't mind their own business. So when she heard a second bar had opened up on the lost light she didn't skip a spark beat to check it out maybe. And Good thing she did much more relaxing and less bots who just didn't care who or what she was doing. The perfect spot for her sense she wasn't much of a talker or a person to even make friends the silents of "Visages" welcomed her. But she couldn't help but look up every time a new sound broke this silents which kinda bothered her but who dosen't look up when something cuts thought silents like a knife. So when the doors to the bar slide open she glanced up at the mech walking didn't think of much at first but then it hit her and she had to take a double take. She knew this mech well not by name but she has seem him around the ship many times, and at Swerve's normally taking with everyone and just well being the polar opposite of what Neon was. Why wasn't he at Swerve's with his friends? She couldn't help but watch him go to the farthest table in the bar which was even odder but she couldn't fully judge she normally did the same thing when she was at Swerve's,she snapped out of it and looked down at her picture why should she stare at him like everyone else does with her,she shakes her head before putting down her pencil and gently grabbing her glass, her straw curved over and down her odd mask to let her drink from the glass without worry of having to actually take it off. Her optics wondered again looking over at the mech trying to think of his name...... |

Skids noticed her looking at him. He noticed a lot, his processor taking in detail after detail whether he wanted to or not - that was yet another downside of being a super-learner; his processor was never at rest, even when all he wanted was a slow, quiet night where he wasn't overthinking everything. He wanted to drown his processor in engex, turn his mind off, and forget his memories all over again. Chromedome and Rung had both warned him about forcing his memories back and the more he thought about, the less he wanted to know what had happened at Grindcore. He'd rather focus on the memories he'd made since joining the Lost Light. Except his processor wasn't letting him. Even around his friends, he had trouble focusing. He'd never been easily distracted, but more than once, Rung or Nautica had needed to nudge him into responding to a question lately. All of his friends had noticed the change in him and they'd try to ask him what he was thinking about and Skids just didn't want to speak about it. That was why he'd decided to skip out on the usual meet-up at Swerve's to begin with; he didn't want to face his friends and their questions again. Skids looked over to the femme, catching her looking at him again. He raised his hand in a half-sparked wave of greeting, arching a brow at her as a silent invitation to join him if she wanted to. |

She hadn't even noticed her optics were still on the mech, her brain was so focused on she felt she knew his name but just couldn't think of it for the life of her,she might have accidently overheard it and just can't make the face match with the name. She snapped out of her thoughts when she saw him look towards her,she was about to look back down at her drawing when she say him wave. She tilted her head softly 'i-is he really inviting me over to sit with him?.........well if i do I can find out what his name is' he thought before standing up putting her drawing and pencil into her cargo space before grabbing her drink and heading over to Skids, the closer she got to the mech the more in her spark she felt changing her mind, but it was soon too late she was at the table, she set her drink down on the table before sitting down in the chair in front of him. She looked up at him,ok now that she was closer to him she could see something was indeed wrong with the mech, maybe something was on his brain and he just didn't want to talk about it......kinda like her. She takes a deep intake before holding her hand a crossed the table for a hand shake "my name is Neon.........nice to meet you" she said in a calm tone of voice |

Skids managed a bit of a smile when she picked up her drink and came over to join him. He'd been meaning to start talking to the rest of the crew outside of his usual crowd; there were so many on the ship he didn't know. Though he'd came to "Visages" to have a quiet night, he was just too much of a friendly mech to sit on his own and the femme - Neon, as she introduced herself - had seemed like she could use a drinking buddy. "Skids," he introduced himself, reaching for Neon's hand. "I don't think I've seen you around the ship much. How long have you been with us?" It was the easiest, most basic conversation starter, but it took his processor off the hyper-focus that it'd had on his missing memories. Presented with someone new, he could turn his attention more clearly on interacting with others again, instead of the out of character withdrawn focus he'd been feeling. |

Once their hands were together she shakes his hand,Skids that's right I have heard his name well mostly when she was at Swerve's but she never really saw the mech in person only heard a few things around the ship, lost his memories, likes being in the vents for some reason and a few other things but those were the main two. "joined about the same time Megatron came onto the lost light........sense Starscream was becoming leader of Cybertron I just wanted to get out of there before everything exploded or something" she said the last part a bit jokingly but with Starscream who knows what could happen. "I normally just stay in my room or try avoiding other bots sense they like taking things and making them way bigger then they should be....." she putting her hands onto the table and looking up at him. "what about you how long have you been on the lost light?" she said tilting her head softly, after all it would be rude to make him do all the asking, plus it seemed that he enjoyed talking to her to him which was a bit odd if he liked talking so much why didn't he just go to Swerve's maybe she'll find out in time. |

"Still trying to wrap my head around Starscream, of all mechs, being the ruler of Cybertron," Skids admitted, wrinkling his nose before pulling his hand back and reaching for his drink. He took a long sip, then a second, draining the glass easily before refilling it. "Kind of glad I got out of there when I did." Of course, he hadn't even been on Cybertron when Starscream had been elected. He'd been on a mission for Prowl and then the whole ordeal with Tyrest, his missing memories and the legislators had come around and Skids had been part of the Lost Light crew since. The only time he'd been back to Cybertron was when the ship had gone to join the battle before Megatron's trial. "The crew gets bored easily," he pointed out about bots taking things and making them bigger than they should. "Travelling between systems can take a few days and with nothing better to do, they turn to gossip and the Lost Light Insider for entertainment. Not that I'm not guilty of it myself, but sometimes, they do go a bit overboard with it." Skids paused when Neon asked how long he'd been on the Lost Light. He wasn't particularly in the mood to talk about himself, but he didn't want to seem rude by not answering the question. "Almost since the beginning. I ran into the ship just after initial launch and joined up on the quest. It's been a wild ride, but I don't think I'd give it up for anything." |

Neon nods her head in agreement "I mean for the time I've been here it has been really crazy........and by launch you mean the failure to do that they kinda did blow themselves up on the first day" She said before taking her drink and taking a sip from it,before setting it back down "And they do get bored easily I swear everytime I go outside my room Tailgate tries to scare me........don't know why but he dose........he's more cute than scary.........and don't get me stared about the gossip" She said rolling her eyes and letting out a deep sigh "I over heard a rumor about me being a Ex-Djd member............I've seen what they can do and I wouldn't have a spark if I was a ex-djd member but sense I'm not a very big fan of talking in large groups I just let the rumors go around........" She said softly, she had noticed the pause before he answered her question and it made her think maybe asking that did really bother him,he was a odd mech but friendly at least he talked to her before starting a rumor about her "Is there anything else you wanna ask about me?" She said before tilting her head again, she normally didn't ever ask this question and if people did ask her about herself she normal lied or didn't answer, but she felt like she could trust Skids he had his secrets and so did she. But the only difference from this is she knew her secrets and he didn't. |

"I was told that's what happened, yeah," Skids replied, pouring a little more engex in his glass. Even with the so-called best stuff in the bar, it took a few drinks to get him even tipsy. "I was on the other end of that. They picked me up after they'd regrouped from that accident." He tilted his head at the mention of Tailgate. "Lemme guess, he's been going around on that board of his again. We keep telling not to fly around in the hallways." Skids arched his brow at the rumor Neon spoke about. "Seriously? I can't believe anyone who throw that rumor around, especially now." With Vos and Kaon on board, he would have thought no one would dare come up with DJD rumors. Only a handful of those on board had been on the second Lost Light just months ago to see the trail of destruction and death that the DJD had left on the duplicate ship. Skids could recall the sight in his processor and it had him shuddering to think of it. How could anyone on the ship spread a rumor that anyone else was part of the DJD, ex or not? "I'm sorry they're saying that about you. No one deserves that. I'd offer to put a stop to it, if you wanted." He took a moment to put aside the thoughts of the DJD out of mind, picking up his drink again and drinking more slowly this time as he thought about a question to ask. He did want to get to know other members of the crew, but he didn't want to pry. He thought about when he'd first caught sight of Neon looking towards him. "I saw you working on something earlier. Was it a drawing?" |

She sighs softly "the rumors are fine, let them figure out on their own the truth ..........or till Magnus overhears it and yells at them that's the main one I am waiting for.........I sure do enjoy Magnus's style of punishment .............as long as I'm not the one getting punished" She said with a soft laugh, which kinda sounded natural but only a little she looks up at him, before slowly nodding her head and taking out the drawing from the cargo hold, she sets it down it was a half done drawn picture of someone's robotic arm holding a rose from earth with it's vines around the arm, right now it was just a outline "It's just a outline right now I might add some colors to it later" She said softly, she normally didn't like showing her drawings off. But I gusse she could trust Skids. "When on Cybertron I talked to Blurr a lot when I would go to his bar,and while I was there he would tell me about things he saw on Earth and I would draw them out while he explained them.......I kinda feel in love with drawing roses" She said with a slightly happy tone |

Skids gave a light frown when Neon said to let the others figure out the truth over rumor. "I don't think that's fair to you, though. Why should you have to suffer because of rumors when there are ways to stop it?" He considered finding a way for Magnus to overhear soon what was being said on the ship. The former enforcer would no doubt put a stop to it and punish whoever had started the rumors. "I doubt Magnus would punish you for what's being said about you. It's not on you that people are saying awful things about you." Setting his drink aside so he didn't accidentally knock it over to spill over her drawing, Skids leaned over to look it over. He was no artist, knowing technique and skill, but never putting much spark into the skill, but he could see the loving details Neon had put into her work. He'd never seen a rose before, but Neon's depiction gave him a good sense of one. "You're very good," he complimented her, looking up with a smile on his lips as he caught the happiness in her tone. "It looks lovely. It's good to love what you do, if it's drawing roses or what ever else. Perhaps we'll find some roses on our travels for you to see them for yourself." |

"Yeah I know,Magnus has to be the most fair bot in the universe. Also putting the rules and logic before who you are and what you've done I've seem him do this a million times over.........I gusse that's why others like talking to him about problems around the ship over Rodimus and megatron" She said before taking another sip of her drink then setting it down so it didn't spill on her picture. To her Magnus was a easy book to read well till she found out he was in armor the whole time, but his personality dosen't change trustworthy is the main word she would use for the load bearer "and thanks I was a artist before the war started......and I love doing it,it's just know it's a bit harder to find supplies to do it and I swear if Rodimus finds out he might order me to paint bright red and yellow flames on the side of the ship........"She said rolling her eyes softly, she knew Rodimus had little self control but she also knew he would only make her do so to piss of Megatron or Magnus when they get him riled up. |

Skids gave a nod. "He's a good mech. He can be intimidating at times, but he's really a good mech." He and Magnus didn't always see optic-to-optic, what with Magnus being a stickler for rules and Skids being a rule-breaker with a reputation right up there with Rodimus - though not quite up there with Whirl - but he did like the mech. He knew that, if Magnus got word of the unsavory rumors going around, the former enforcer would be quick to resolve the matter. A smile crossed Skids' lips when Neon spoke of being an artist before the war. At least she recalled her previous life. He'd known mechs that had long-since forgotten their pasts, remembering nothing but war. He remembered being a student, learning from Senator Shockwave with his fellow outliers. He often wondered if it was possible for a reunion some time. Trailcutter was back because of the same enigma that brought Shockwave on board. They could probably get a hold of Scoop and Windcharger. He wasn't sure what had happened to Glitch; they'd fallen out of contact a long time ago. Thinking about his old friends had Skids feeling worse. The last time he remembered them being a group was back before the war, proper, when they'd been at the Alyon Region protecting sparks. And that - he couldn't remember much about that. He remembered being there, but there were so many gaps in his memory. More gaps. Skids leaned forward, hand pressed to his helm and optics shuttered for a moment. Why so many gaps? This didn't have anything to do with Tyrest or Grindcore, all of it happening so long ago. He couldn't focus on this, though. He was supposed to be having a conversation. So he poured himself another shot and drank it down before returning to the conversation. "You could talk to Ten about supplies," he suggested. "He's got quite the artistic talent, so a bunch of us got him some supplies the last time we were planetside. I'm sure he'd be glad to share." He gave a smile at the comment about Rodimus. "Pretty sure you don't have to worry about that. He's been captain of this ship for a couple of years and hasn't had it covered in flames yet." |

"Well it's Rodimus.......no one really know's what is going on through his head" She said before taking another long drink from her glass, before setting her drink back down. She smiles softly under her mask "I can ask Ten a bit later......on the way here I saw that Swerve's was really busy right now,and I don't want to distract him........sense he's the only one keeping that place from blowing up into a bar fight" She said rubbing her arm remembering the last fight at Swerve's got her a few others locked up in the brig. She sighs before setting her hands onto the table, she looks up at Skids. She knew Skids was trying hard to act happy,he was covering something up,she knew this from the moment she saw Skids walk into "visages". Sadly being a sniper she can read this kinda of stuff, she had trained herself to read emotions of others, but mostly of the enemy to know if they knew she was there or not. "And yes Magnus is a great bot he's just too strict on the rules sometimes......but besides that it's nice to talk to him once and a while" she said softly before picking up her picture and putting it back into her cargo hold. |

"True enough, I suppose," Skids agreed. "Though, to be fair, he's not quite as bad as he was before." Oh, sure, Rodimus was still flighty and got them into a spot of trouble from time to time, but ever since Overlord, there'd been a stark change in the fiery mech that most seemed not to notice. The closer one was to Rodimus, the easier it was to tell. "I like to give our captain, both of them, the benefit of the doubt. They've both changed a lot since they took command." Perhaps it was a bit dangerous to speak, even indirectly, of Megatron and the changes he'd made, considering Skids hadn't even realized how his supposed best friend had been plotting an act of treason with the intent to get rid of the former warlord. He had no way of knowing what Neon's opinion of their second captain was, but Skids was willing to give Megatron a chance. He'd made his point to Megatron about what it meant to wear the Autobrand and had been watching him since and, although forgiveness for the millions of years of war and murder was not his to give, Skids believed that Megatron was finally getting the idea. "I think Swerve's giving Ten the day off tomorrow," Skids continued, returning to the conversation. "You could probably drop by his room and talk to him then. He's pretty friendly. Much better than the Legislators I fought. He'll probably be glad to talk to another artist." |
