It isn't really a nap, Vos thinks. He's not that tired, for one thing, and he and Kaon have a perfectly good hab suite if he wants to recharge. If he were really going to nap, it certainly wouldn't be out here, where anyone in the world — well — a select subset of Autobot crewmembers could try something.

'Try' being the operative word. Mode lock or no.

No, he's just... relaxing. Keeping an eye on things. No one has even noticed him so far, stretched out on top of some kind of electrical box near the stairs to the Decepticon floor, feeling the generated heat wash over him and settle into his frame. Not many things on this ship are what he'd call comfortable — all the architecture is too round for his tastes nowadays — but slipping into some nook and just watching the world tick slowly around him.

You wouldn't think it, if you knew him, but he can be patient. And there's nothing else to fucking do.

Still, everyone has their limits. Vos has been curled up for ages now, and when he hears someone coming, strides all too distinct below his perch, he can't resist the urge. Lucky for them, perhaps, it's only a playful urge: rapidly clicking and grinding some of his currently-internal firing mechanisms, letting out an eerie sound that echoes against the metal, just above where whoever-it-is is passing by. He's not actually hidden at all, just a little out of most gazes, and a glance would reveal his golden eyes peeking over the edge. Maybe it'd be better to figure out exactly who it is first, but his opportunities to be impulsive are so limited. And it'd really just ruin the fun of it all.

Rung startles at the sound, datapad clattering to the floor as his arms jerk like he's been stung by a live current. "Who's there?" He asks, helm jerking as he looks for the sound. Objectively he knows the chance of true danger is low, but experience has taught him that weird sounds on this ship only ever mean trouble.

When he catches sight of yellow optic, he exvents. "Vos?" He asks, voice low and warm, consciously smoothing out his field into something smooth and relaxing. "What are you doing up there?" His faceplates melt into a welcoming expression. "If you're looking to scare mechs, you know, everyone thinks the oil reservoir is cursed." He injects just the faintest amount of amusement into his words. Everything about him right now is careful mix between honesty and calculated emotion, meant to calm any possible... upsets. It gets a lot of practice nowadays.

He waits patiently for a reply, bending down to retrieve his 'pad. The action turns his back to Vos, revealing the vulnerable back of his neck as he tilts his head down to check for any damage to it.
