There was a rust stick under the desk.

That was the reason why Tailgate was also under the desk, squinting to make out the shape of the candy in the dim light. Post-movie night cleanup for the host often continued long after everyone had left - one time Tailgate and Rewind had found two full cubes of what was probably someone's personal science project in under-the-table engex in the archivist's closet. And after the incident with Crosscut's shovel, the unofficial movie night rules had expanded to "nobody is allowed to watch from the vents no matter how crowded the room is, and that means you, Skids".

It wasn't as if the occasional chaotic movie night was bad, but Tailgate preferred the more sedate ones. Like tonight had been - various crew members sitting kibble-to-kibble on the floor (both berths had been pushed into the wall to offer more floor space, and Tailgate had been using their stepstool as a chair), just calmly enjoying a mix of Cybertronian and human films while snacks were passed around. It was nice, a little pocket of normality in the wake of the confusion from the quantum whatever-it-was that had happened.

"Got it!"

Tailgate finally snagged the rust stick and backed up, holding the candy up triumphantly. Most of the guests had filtered out of the hab already, but a few were sticking around to help with cleanup - this was the first time Tailgate was hosting, and they wanted to make sure suite 14 was still (mostly) spotless when the cycle was over. The minibot stood and brushed off their knees, looking around.

"Okay, I think we can pull the berths back out now..."
