So much panic, so little time!
((OOC: Things I learned today--I have to actually look up 'Albuquerque' in order to spell it right!))

There was a door leading out of the 'Decepticon floor' that Nickel was pretty sure their...hosts...had overlooked, or had grown a bit lax in guarding. Either way: she'd been bored. She'd gone wandering. And she'd found a door. Door was unlocked. Curiosity kicked in. And she found herself in the...what was this again?

Nickel poked her head a bit further out the door, found the place empty (or as far as she could tell at her altitude), and skated a bit further out. Common sense told her to turn back and go about her business back on the one wing of the ship that was okay for her to wander in. But boredom told her that she should take advantage of this. Because if the big lug heading security didn't realize he'd left a door unlocked somehow, it was only a matter of time before he realized something had glitched.

So--Nickel skated out of the service corridor and went a-snooping. It only took a moment or two to realize she was in the oil reservoir. But--well--there were worse places for her to get caught. Like the bar. She'd spent a goodly amount of time in the brig for that, actually. Though her current solitude suggested she'd have a bit more time out of the claustrophobia of the 'Decepticon floor'--and maybe more of chance to escape if someone wandered in.

The incident at Swerve's few days ago had left Skyshade with a warning and a long-lasting lecture, during which he thanked the Primus for his ability to take short naps without raising any suspision. The real warning, or threat for him, was the repetition of the same event resulting into him either ending up consulting Rung or spending some time at the Brig. Although, the Brig shouldn't be a problem once he figures out a way to get away... Right? No, he would get in more trouble afterwards.

Putting that aside, visiting Swerve's just after few days wouldn't be the greatest, both from his and bar's perspective. Waiting few days didn't bother the jet at all - he needed a break from people and their fuss. The only place providing him almost an absolute solitude, was the Oil Reservoir.

It was his celestial sanctuary where he often worked on his datapad non-stop; or he winded up taking a nap in very odd positions.

Despite the Oil Reservoir being deserted almost all the time, Skyshade took great caution walking in the room. The doors slided open, him side-stepping to use the door arch as a cover. He scanned the room from distance, then hopped inside with careful light steps, as if he didn't wish to wake up something akin to an Eldritch monster. Finally founding his confidence, he looked one more time around the place--

Wait.

He had to do a double-take at a Minibot lurking here. He abruptly stopped in his tracks, confluxed at the sight of them - while being someone he barely saw or heard about on the ship, this Minibot was strangely familiar... No, that was not Tailgate, they would have urged Cyclonus to be with them. Who was this Minibot, he could not remember at all... Or was it his crack on his visor tricking his processor which he hadn't fixed yet?

For a moment, Nickel froze--ready to dart back into the service corridor and prematurely end today's (albeit accidental) escape attempt. She was on their ship, so she intended to play by their rules. Occasionally. If there weren't any open doors piquing her curiosity.

It took that entire moment (as brief as it was) for Nickel to recognize who'd cut in on her wandering. And even less time for her to go from shocked at being caught, to just being, well, angry.

"You!" Nickel was even more peeved at having her tools taken away--she would have gladly used any of them on his face right about now.

Visibly flinching - wait, no, hopping - he more resembled a startled cat more than a normally surprised bot. He could only blame his overly-sensitive audial receptors, while serving as a perfect tool for eavasdropping, usually made his processor ache. Thus empty places like these were his saviour for his audials.

But not now. when this Mini was, for some reason, furious at him.

He took few steps forward, mindful to go around Nickel, his optics glued to her in case she wanted to vent her anger at him. A strangely familiar fella, yet he struggled to remember who she was... Slowly the memories started to flow in his mind. Swerve's. Getting wasted (he was no proud of that). Someone invading his personal space. Yes... That must have been her.

He was so glad he had a mouthplate - a sly grin spread across his face realizing something. Now that he was fully sober and competent, he could perhaps have some fun for a while... Like acting dumb.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." Speaking of acting, he could pass a lying detector. Who knows where he had learnt that. (He seemed to know almost everything.)

Oh and also - Decepticon badge noted.

"Oh no, no, no," she waggled a finger at him like he was a child being scolded. "Don't you try that with me, aftshaft. The only reason I didn't end up in the brig after that is because security realized I didn't start it!"

Being small meant she was sometimes given leniency. That and, well, she didn't 'fit' with the DJD members on board--being small also meant everyone assumed you were 'cute.' It was maddening. Much like the situation she found herself in now.

If he could, he would laugh. He would laugh so much at her. Albeit he had decided to keep his show and play his acting role of being ultimately amnesiac of the event - or even doubt Nickel.

"What's the deal with you? Jealous the weather up here is prettier?" He gestured in the sky above him, shaking his left wrist along with his fist clenching and unclenching - he couldn't help it in fact, it was his subconscious reflex as if he wanted to grasp something. How had he developed this tick was unclear to him; but his left hand always had a mind of its own in situations such as these.

As much as he wanted to be left alone, he knew Nickel wouldn't let him walk off that easily. And now, fully competent and sane, perhaps he had the upper hand... Admittedly, he also wanted to rub it into her face, that he in fact, was capable of more than just getting wasted. He hadn't upgraded his body just for fun.

"Yo, shortstuff, why don't you go pick someone your own size?" Whatever got into his mind to do his next move, was quite daring. He leaned forward, stretching his ridicilously long arm forward to poke her on her forehead with his talon, like a cat playing with an unidentified, new object.

Would he regret that later? Most likely.

No, Nickel was not going to let Skyshade get off easily--not at all! She didn't like cooperating with the Autobots, but cooperation meant she had an easier time, and leniency in some cases. Like when she was found outside of her designated area. With some monumental use of will power, she managed not to glance nervously at the door.

She did, however, notice the tick. The skinny fucker was lying to her, all right. The glower deepened.

"Ain't the air up there a little thin," she retorted, jaw set stubbornly.

And, if there was anything Nickel found more annoying than size jokes, it was someone giving her a poke (though it wasn't quite as maddening as a pat on the head). Though small--and a little stubby, like most minis--Nickel was pretty spry. It came from having to keep up with bots who had strides many times her body length. In this case, this spryness was put to use grabbing said pointy finger and wrenching it.

Bigger bots could be brought down closer to ground level if you wrenched the right finger. If anything, it'd be a surprise.

"Dunno, aftshaft. Looks like someone my size is picking on me, first." She exvented in annoyance. "And am I gonna get my apology or what?"

Skyshade had a fast reaction time, beneficial in his unknown to many past - but now with the war over, he had been slacking off. He had loosened up way too much, although, he found a good use to some of his skills learnt during his lifetime. But now, a Minibot excelled in what he used to be a professional - speed.

But he had his strengths - like his high pain tolerance. He didn't beep, nor cused when his talon got painfully twisted; the same couldn't be told about his expression hidden underneath his visor and faceplate. A mixture of pain and regret decorated it, with his yellow optics flickering every now and then. He had to come out with a plan, and fast - or he would end up with a broken finger.

So let's see - calculating in his mind he considered all of his options of getting out of her grasp. He noted he was oddly, very oddly leaning towards Nickel's optic level, although one of his legs was outstretched to its maximum, while the other glued itself to the ground under his body to support the weight. One hand still free, and one more trick up his sleeve... Or... On his back, rather. Yes, he heavily thought about deploying his Minicon, Screech, to at least startle Nickel, but he feared for his safety and well-being, after that infamous killswitch.

"Well," he hissed through his gritted teeth, enduring the pain, "I think it's you who started all of this in the first place. Oh, and what apology?" And with that, since this was the best option (he had considered jumping high in the air, but he would have to sacrifice his finger), his other arm came literally flying towards Nickel's face, the sight of claws that close to one's optics hopefully enough terrific to force Nickel to release him.

((ooc - his body position might not make sense cuz iM VERY TIRED RN, BUT i could draw this to visually show how stuck he is))

((Ooc: I kind of read it as he's leaning forward. Nickel's pretty damn close to the floor, after all!))

Nickel didn't flinch. She'd been with the DJD for far too long to be easily startled--especially by a bluff. Particularly since neither of them could afford to start a brawl and attract the attention of whoever was on security detail right about now. Well, attract the security detail again.

After he was done playing his bluff, though, she let go of his finger. Her point had been made.

"You're the one that had a hissy fit in the bar and started throwing things. That display nearly got me thrown in the brig. And now you're acting like you didn't do anything. I think I deserve an apology."

Judging from the reaction, though, Nickel doubted he knew she was walking on thin ice just by existing on the ship. Probably the only ones in less favor were Vos and Kaon.

Was he ever going to get a break from her? He would have pinched his noseridge and simply activated his cloaking system which would both baffle Nickel and allow Skyshade some time to walk away. Although, the energy consumption put him off considerably.

"Whatever," he grumbled, making a swift jump over the Minibot, "here's your damn apology - sorry for my incompetent self for nearly injuring you, is that good for you?" He walked to the very end of the platform, only several metres seperated him and the massive pool of oil. Choosing to ignore Nickel, thinking his apology was suffcient, he laid down, legs hanging off the edge, arms behind his head.

"Shouldn't you be in the Decepticon area?" He asked that out of the blue, sounding more like asking himself to find the answer why Nickel had wandered here to a Decepticon unauthorized ground.

She glowered at him for the longest time, arms crossed, before she finally answered.

"Sarcastic, but acceptable." Nickel knew she wasn't going to get anything further out of him. But, then again, she also intended to avoid him altogether if she could help it. Right now was just a fluke. She hoped.

"Should be. But somebody left a door open. Couldn't help myself." She was being honest, but she hoped the saltiness would make it sound sarcastic enough. Not like the aforementioned door would stay open much longer before security noticed it. "What about you? Don't you lot have important things to be doing rather than moping around?"

"Napping is a quite important activity." He mused, stretching his arms and letting them plop across his chassis. He tapped his fingers against his metal plating, creating a silent melody that echoed through the Oil Reservoir. Otherwise, he did nothing, nothing at all. As if a switch had been flipped, putting all of his motivation into a garbage disposal, and the only thing that he could do, was this. And no, there was definitely no "between" his workaholic and doing nothing state.

Although if one paid attention enough to his moving audial receptors, they never seemed to stop moving. Sometimes one of his receptors stood motionless, while the other almost scrapped the metal floor; did he hear something others would hardly pick up? The answer - yes. However, he only chose to randomly listen to whatever he sensed - most likely nothing extraordinary was happening. Except for that highly offended groan that could only be produced by Whirl.

"Isn't the shift supposted to change soon?" What kind of shift, well that was pretty obvious if you were a Decepticon on the loose.

Nickel noted--and it was hard not to when there wasn't much else moving in the room--but she still stood there, sour and stubborn for the most part. Whether that was because she'd been bored out of her mind and didn't want to go back to her hab, or because she wasn't going to be intimidated remained a mystery.

"Could be." Nickel genuinely didn't care at this point. She could always sneak back--it wasn't like they always stayed in their habs, after all. There were plenty of places a mini could be overlooked.

Minutes might have passed - which wouldn't bother Skyshade if not for Nickel still being here. He had expected her to leave, or at least hear her entering one of the vent systems that kept the Oil Reservoir at an adequate temperature. He huffed, changed his napping position several times but the last attempt to get comfortable nearly resulted him into falling off the ledge. Now, sitting down like a loaf, he faced the Minibot (feeling much safer, since for whatever reason, he didn't enjoy having people out of his line of sight), watching her with undying curiosity.

She was still here. And she was seemingly not really unnerved around his presence, just like the other bots.

Another long time passed, with Skyshade motionlessly watching Nickel. He pondered very deeply what he could do with her around - that's when he remembered something he considered as a fun fact for anyone who'd found themselves in the airshafts at least once.

"One of these vents lead to an intersection. If you take the right turn, you can get to the habsuites. I think it's hilarious. You can move someone's stuff three inches left to see what happens. Too bad, I'm too lazy to do that."

Nickel--dead set on enjoying some time away from the monotony of the 'Decepticon floor' of the ship--had been trying to enjoy solitude that wasn't exactly solitude. She was, however, not so confident that she could leave the room without being immediately detected by security. She, like Skyshade, suffered through the company.

Though she was a bit surprised when he actually tried...conversation. Nickel was suspicious.

"Speaking like someone who has experience doing this?" Truth be told, she didn't know what to make of the comment!
