After the spectacular night she had, Steelhide was on her way back to her Hab Suite. She had a long way to go from Swerve's, but she was pretty content with it. Walking down on the corridor, as she reached the elevator, she heard a smaller rustling noise. She looked around, trying to spot the source, to no luck. She frowned lightly as she carefully stepped inside the elevator, selecting the right floor. She kept her optics on as she waited to get to her floor, hoping whomever was responsible for that noise was in a more prankful mood. As the elevator stopped, she stepped outside, furrowing her eyebrows as she could hear the noise again. Who the hell? She stopped as she took her time to look at the ceiling of the corridor, as well as around. She wasn't a fan on pranks so she hoped she can either spot the other Bot, or that the Bot will reveal themselves. (If I got spelling mistakes I will fix them once on laptop, on phone rn) |

Whatever the noise was, it did not belong to a category of occassional grumbles and hums of the Lost Light. It could be easily deciphered as an unknown sound within the walls, as if something got stuck in and was frantically trying to find its way out. Skids? Nah, the airshafts in these corridors were too small for him to fit him, even though he fell in a group of smaller sized bots. So what the hell was this scratching noise, or better said, the cause of it? Judging by how light it sounded, and how fast it moved, that something must have thousands of legs like a centipede, or just crawl really swiftly, not bothering to keep a low profile. The thing most likely knew who they had been following; if it was Rodimus, Drift, Ultra Magnus, or even poor paranoid Red Alert - that would have that thing discovered immediately. Tap-tap. Tap. Tap-tap-tap-tap. Tap. Whenever the Marauder moved even an inch, the distinctive tap followed, as if wanting to be revealed. The tapping was located directly above Steelhide's head, but she seemed to only stand there and do nothing. The thing, dissatisfied with its vain efforts, begun to slither away. Tap tap, goes the sound away. But what happened next, could be considered as a plan actually succeeding... In an unplanned twist of fate. One of the panels gave up underneath a quite small dark smudge that plummeted down from the airshaft, landing just few metres in front of the ex-Wrecker. The panel must have been previously damaged, as the thing was rather a Minicon. A gecko-like Minicon to be more exact, having a striking resemblance with one of the ship's inhabitants - Skyshade. The Minicon, Screech, shook off dust that he had collected on his little journey through the vents, sitting upright with his little arms curled like a tiny T-Rex. It stared for couple of minutes at Steelhide, optics literally glued at her form. Then, after a long silence, he spoke. "Steelhide?" |

She waited as the taps continued, staring up towards the vents. The sound and the taps were distinct as they echoed from the vent area, oh... if only her Minicon was still with her, and not back at Cybertron. While she got her hammers out, she wasn't planning on starting a hammer time on the walls. Who knows how many other Bots were recharging or having their alone time in their Hab Suites, and she was more well known for only using hammer time when it was appropriate. She lifted up her hammer, alarmed as a dark smudge fell from above, pointing her hammer at it... only to have her optics widen as they turned back into her hands. Screech? If Screech was here that means... She crouched down to the Minicon as she moved closer to him. "Screech? Goodness, where is Skyshade?" She asked, both surprised and slowly getting excited. She couldn't believe this. Her Amica Endura, on the exact same ship as her?? Without her having an idea that he was here?? She put her hands together as she continued. "Okay no, first, let me guess... Is he perching on the highest, most hidden parts of the ship?" |

Steelhide didn't have to wait too long for an answer, nor she had to seek for it; the answer came to her instead, just few moments after the encounter of gecko Minibot and the Marauder. All what Steelhide had to do was to turn around after something had poked her broad shoulder. Whether she turns with the speed of an eager rhinoceraos or with great caution like a ballet dancer (so not to end up with any accidental harm to anyone standing behind her) she would find her old friend, who had been, in fact, standing there for more than few minutes. He was holding a glass with richly decorated energon drink; he must have hit the bar either before or during his little "mission" to follow Steelhide. His optics were fixated on his drink, swirling a straw in slow motion. "It's been 84 years." Obviously, he was referencing a meme, which origin was the planet Earth. However, in this moment, this meme screamed for a perfect usage. Since his mouthplate was not covering part of his face, one could spot one of rarely shown emotions he could exhibit. A one pixel smile nestled on his face, not denying he had been truly eager seeing Steelhide again. |

She didn't get concerned when she felt the shoulder poke. It was so distinct, something she's been so used to from one individual, but didn't get to experience in megacycles. When she turned around, it wasn't as graceful as a ballerinas, but more eager and happy to see Sky as she trapped his small figure in her big arms, disregarding whenever he held anything in his hands or not. "Sky!! Thank the all spark you are still in one piece!! What have you been doing?? Hell, just, just tell me everything!! My Hab Suite is nearby, so we can sit there in peace." Steel grinned happily as her rear mirrors moved excitedly, finally letting Sky go from her strong hug as she looked back at Screech, smiling. "You too Screech!! Just tell me everything you two!! Now, come come!" She stood up and took Sky's hand as she walked closer to Screech to pick him up as well, leading both of them over to her Hab Suite. "What kind of luck do we even have this time? You and I, on the same ship, after the war ended?" |

Being friends with Steelhide had taught Skyshade to be always prepared beforehand; or do multiple tasks while being crushed in a reunion hug that was on the top place on his list of possible situations during his first meeting in ages with his old friend. In this case, he expertly slurped from his drink without spilling it in the bearhug he had found himself locked in. As much as he could nearly explode from excitement masterfully hidden by his self-control, he was glad when Steelhide had released him from the hug. But before he had any chance to speak, he found himself being dragged throughout the corridors by her, still somehow managing to drink his glass of whatever he had brought along with himself. Easily catching up on her speed, there was one thing that had to be done from his person. Slipping his wrist from her grasp, he effortlessly hopped on her bulky shoulders, sitting there like a parrot on some walking perch. "Well, there's a lot of things that have happened. A lot." So many answers and questions... It would be a long day for those two. One question might interest Steelhide - how had Skyshade found her she was on the ship? |

((whoops I forgot I was on Nightbeat's account so the reply is from his account and not from Steel's -----)) It wasn't too hard for Skyshade to slip his wrist out from between Stellhide's hand, being the sneaky mech he was, and the moment she noticed he was already perching on her shoulder. She couldn't help but grin as she handed Screech over to him, turning her attention back to the corridor as she replied. "I can believe! But how did you know I was here? Did you try to dig into the database? Or did you hear about a big lady bot going around? I admit, I've been spending quiet some time at Swerve's. It's pretty nice, meeting all the other Bots outside warzones." She raised an eyebrow over at him as she stopped, her rear windows moving slightly as she turned her head to him. Knowing Skyshade, he either accessed the database, or heard rumours of her being around the ship. She ended up smiling as she started walking again, taking a few steps further down the corridor before she reached her Hab Suite, opening it and walking inside as she closed the door behind herself. Her Hab Suite was rather simple - She had her own desk, a chair, and her recharge slab, and a few personal belongings scattered around the table. Edited by Nightbeat, 20 Jul 2016, 01:07 AM.

"You don't have to access the database when Swerve will just tell it all without even asking." Steelhide's Hab Suite, compared to his own, was enormous in size - reasonably. To accomodate such an ex-Wrecker, the room had to be moderately fitted. His curiosity deepening, he had an urge to explore the room to the tiniest crack - at first, he viewed the room like a normal person would do, then both him and Screech went almost frenzy. Screech scanning the ground, why Skyshade managed to crawl the ceiling. "You wouldn't be able to fit into my place." His place, was at least half the size, not mentioning his organized chaos forming some sort of fortress (and nightmare to Ultra Magnus) whenever someone tried to walk in. Being a creative person meant not having enough time to organize his scribbles and datapads according to date or type. Plus, he simply didn't want to clean up his mess. "First of all, how did you get onboard in the first place? What brings you here?" |

She couldn't help but laugh abit at that response. Right, Swerve would sell anyone's secrets just about to any mech that decided to listen to him - which wasn't that hard. She sat down over at her desk as she turned around, watching Sky as both he and Screech were pretty amazed by her Hab Suite it seemed. "Let me guess... You still draw alot and all the datapads. Right?" She asked as she watched Sky, though his question visibly making her abit sad as she glanced to the side. Thinking about Cybertron... That definitely made her sad. She sighed as she replied. "After Cybertron got resurrected... The planet just wasn't the same, you know? It got tarnished into the ground in the war, and in its current state, overrun by the wilderness. And I don't think I'd been able to you know..." There was a moment of silence before she continued, not finishing her previous trail of thought. "That's why my MiniCon is not with me. He decided to stay back at Cybertron, helping with the reconstruction efforts." |

"Yep, I do. And I will never intend to stop drawing." He stopped his exploration, hanging off the ceiling to listen to Steelhide's backstory that'd pushed her to join the Lost Light. True - Cybertron was never the same, and would probably never be reconstructed to its former, pre-war glory. If by any chance this happened, it would take another 4 or maybe more millions of years to fix their homeworld. Skyshade's and Steelhide's first home, the Cybertron before war, was forever embedded in their memories. And they hadn't been prepared for such a rapid change - wilderness, new policy, new people, everything. Being used to traveling to escape the war conflicts located in the vast space had taught Skyshade one thing - to ignore the gut-wrenching feel of homesickness. His home, instead of Cybertron, had become space and the stars - not that place which was Cybertron now. "You tell me about it," he hopped off the ceiling, "you heard about the political tensions? Autobots, Decepticons, Neutrals? Stuff's crazy down there and I cannot tell whether if it calmed down or not. I don't have resources." |

Steelhide nodded at Sky's question, although quirking her eyebrow at him as her Amica sounded rather clueless. Which was odd. Sky, the information collector, unaware of the current political situations? She frowned lightly as she continued, deciding it was better to bring him up to date before he ran into some "surprises." "I did. And didn't you hear? Starscream is Cybertron's current ruler, and Megatron is the co-captain. Which I still can't believe and he... he got the Autobot badge." Megatron, who also contributed to the war breaking out, now being part of this ship was something Steel had a hard time accepting. She was chill, she was nice, until it came to Decepticons, and even with the end of the war, she had a hard time to be at ease around Decepticons, let alone let her Guard down. She sighed as she rubbed her face with her hands, glancing down at the floor. "I am aware the war is over Sky. But I just can't help not to be wary around Decepticons you know? Especially not around him." It was hard to let go of the past, that was so ingrained into her and what defined the past 4 million years of her life, especially when she could hold grudges for so long that it was ridiculous, if not pathetic. |

"Megatron? Oh, please," he scoffed, dropping down from the ceiling, "he is rather hard not to miss, don't you think? I can recognize his footsteps from miles and I don't even have to see him." 'Why do I have optics if I could use echolocation to navigate...' A thought came 'cross his mind, which he would rather keep for himself - he didn't wish to make Steelhide concerned. Whatever. Crossing his arms, he continued to listen. Starscream. He cocked his head 45 degrees to the left side, audial receptors shooting upwards. He forgot his mouthplate was not activated - a simple smile spread across his face, a genuine, unmistakable smile. "I knew this would happen," and he snickered for a very short moment, "well, anyway, my contact that had stayed on Cybertron is running some errands thus cannot keep me fully updated. But they've promised me to send those information soon." Skyshade was quick to notice a gloomy, perhaps melancholic mood that hovered just above Steelhide, like cumulonimbus clouds. As her Amica, he had to do something. If not directly become Thor from Earth's Norse mythology, then he was going to make sure it won't rain. "Forgive, but never forget. Yep, the 'Cons turned maniacs during the war, well some of them, but the thought of someone forgiving you - but not forgetting - should be enough to make one pretty guilty about their past. Remember, Decepticons wanted peace and equality." |

"You know how I am - if I tell stories or share information I'd rather not miss out on the key points. And hmm... No. I won't forget. There is no way. But pardon?" She quirked her eyebrow over at Skyshade regarding his expression, frowning. He knew this would happen? She knew he only showed enough to make other mech think they know him well - but while he got that little nifty tactic of his, she was more... talkative. She could push her emotions aside, but they already got her in trouble a few times. "Mind explaining me how you'd know it was bound to happen? That Starscream ends up leading Cybertron?" It wasn't hard to miss her confused expression - while she was a decent mech, she wasn't booksmart or a genius like Brainstorm or Perceptor. Nor was she a strategist - She was a fighter who played major key in campaigns, not the one who led them. |

"You might be guessing I have some other additional contact back there on Cybertron, but no, that is not true-- oh, nice view you have from here, by the way." The interruption allowed him to walk towards the window, leaning against it, his back facing the room. His own face was reflected in the window screen. "Hell, don't think I rely on the truest information that I can salvage," he removed his visor, optics illuminating the reflection, "intuition. Gut feeling. As in 'Oh, I can feel it. This is going to happen, it will happen.' I do not always trust it, gut feelings can be deceitful and often manipulate with your logical thinking; but hey, thanks to it I have survived the impossible and now I had predicted Starscream becoming a ruler-" "-Okay, first of all, don't get me wrong, but... Put Starscream's universally sized ego and his narcisism AND his Decepticon involvement aside, he actually makes a very good leader. Not just good, but... Starscreamingly good - not in the negative Starscream sense, of course. Check his background - he's a scientist, or WAS one - and scientists need to be rational, they need to be creative, innovative, tactical, ingenious - same characteristic would need to be used by a proper leader as well." "All he needs to do is to stop being so full of himself and Cybertron will prosper. Not to mention he could use his wits and scheming nature for the benefit of Cybertron, as well, if needed." He spun around, hands slamming onto his hips, taking a deep breath... "Boy!" He exclaimed, "I did talk a lot, didn't I?" |

"This is the most I heard you talking in a long time. Well, if you can remove those traits of his? Then maybe, just maybe he'd be a decent "ruler"." Steelhide replied as she couldn't help but air quote the last bit, sighing as well as her wing mirrors moved slightly. She stood up as she walked over to her Hab Suite's window to stand next to her small Amica, looking outside. Space, the vast universe was fascinating - she could always see the stars, as well as other star systems that came along with the view. She fell abit silent as she wasn't up to continue the current discussion - it did no good, nor was she exactly accepting of those news. It will take Starscream alot to prove himself as the worthy ruler of Cybertron - She will be waiting over here for that. As she continued gazing outside, she got an idea. Looking over to her Amica, her wing mirrors moved up excitedly as she put her big hand to his shoulder. "You know what we could do that doesn't involve being near the others? Going outside with magna clamps and star gazing." |
