Nightbeat was eagerly observing a smaller mark on the wall as he'd been following these strange symbols, placed around on the ship on a rather erratic manner as his brain module was working and calculating. Some rumours started up recently, as well as these mystery symbols showing up out of nowhere, and who else, if not the ship's investigator and detective will be onto the case? It was easy to tell he'd been aching for some good mysteries, even if its not the most exciting mystery, it was still intriguing nonetheless! As he made his way around and about the ship, looking into every nook and cranny he could find to get to the next clue, whomever came across with him were either greeted with silence, a smaller nod, or if they were unfortunate enough to catch him in the middle of counting his options, it was a "Shh, I am thinking!" that they got at most. Whom left these marks? Where did they lead? And, most importantly, for what reason? He took a moment to ponder, observing the area with his optics when he spotted some oddly mishaped foot prints. Crouching down, he keenly observed it, memorizing the odd pattern with his optics as he started following it. Being focused onto the foot prints, he disregarded everyone around himself as the footprints took him to the empty Oil Reservoir, his footsteps echoing in the big chamber. The footprints, ending at the dock, made him to stop as he quirked an eyebrow. Did someone decide to take an oil bath? Not likely. Perhaps, did something happen here beforehand he was on the ship? Maybe it was related to it, but this mystery was too fresh to potentially reference former events. He started thinking, mentally going through his options, unaware of any curious potential Bot following him as he stood there alone, staring at the pitch black oil. "Can...I help you with anything?" He regretted saying anything as soon as he'd said it. Fort Max wasn't necessarily hard to miss- really, you'd have to be trying[ to miss him. In this case, it appeared that Nightbeat had simply been too focused to notice the massive mech that had stepped behind him. At some point, he had gotten decent at sneaking around like this. If you walked past him, you'd still notice him, but that was the point; when it came down to 'deal with people' or 'take all possible back routes to avoid interaction', he'd made the easy choice. Still, it'd been months since he last resorted to that. That begged one glaring question: what mystery was so enthralling that Nightbeat failed to notice Maximus wandering behind him for the past ~5 minutes? Or did he always get this involved? It wasn't because of that he regretted speaking up; he just had absolutely no idea what to say. He wasn't 'big' on mysteries. He wasn't stupid, nor did he lack reasoning skills; he just thought of things a bit too bluntly for that. Maximus rubbed the back of his neck with one flattened palm. He could try and help solve this, whatever it was. No guaranteeing that he would be good at it, but...he'd try his best. He took a step forwards from where he stood in the shadows, hearing his own footsteps echo loudly as he did so. Wow, Nightbeat really was oblivious. Fort Max cleared his throat. "Another pair of eyes could give you a fresh perspective." |

It wasn't until Max walked inside the Oil Reservoir that Nightbeat finally perked up to the echoing steps of the other Bot, turning around as he looked up at him. Max offering assistance? While he was aware the Enforcer wasn't big on mysteries, he was simply too excited to acknowledge that, his mind prioritizing the mystery as he spoke, welcoming the assistance. Max was much longer on the Lost Light than him - perhaps he knew more about certain events than he himself did. "Max! Why of course you can help me! Are you aware of any significant event going down in the Oil Reservoir? Or whenever something spectacular happened here - I am trying to figure out what's going on with these symbols and footprints! A new mystery, isn't it exciting?" He replied rather excitedly as he pointed to the footprints right next to his feet, careful he didn't step onto it himself. The footprint seemed as if it belonged to a Cybertronian, but was distorted and smudged enough to raise questions. Edited by Nightbeat, 20 Jul 2016, 04:28 AM.

Maximus was prepared to question Nightbeat, before he realized that Nightbeat really had missed a lot. Although...so had Max. Still, even with Max having been out of commission and then in the brig for a good part of the Lost Light's early journey, he had already begun racking his brain for events that fit Nightbeat's standards. Bots came to the Reservoir to talk in private, or just to have a peaceful moment alone. There was no telling just how much had happened behind figurative closed doors down here. There was, however, one event that stuck out in Max's memory banks. The footprints that Nightbeat brought to attention didn't seem like they were a match, but by this point, it was hard to tell. The only problem: how did he describe Red Alert's breakdown to someone who hadn't been here for the events leading up to it? "There was...an 'incident' here. Long time ago," He grimaced at the odd feeling rising in his tanks. "They found a body in the reservoir once...? That could be something. I 'unno if I was here for anything else." |

Maximus' response piqued his interest as he was thinking. There was a body. Was there a murder? Would Rodimus allow such thing to happen? Knowing him, it might've been a murder. Or did two Bots decide to duke it out in the Oil Reservoir? Knowing the list of Bots who were on the ship, it wouldn't be surprising. "Can you tell me more about this incident? What type of incident it was, and what led up to it?" He asked, as if he missed the memo of Maximus not feeling so comfortable talking about it, given the grimace on his face. Speaking of which... Did it involve someone he knows? How bad was it in that case? New questions started to rise inside his head as he waited for a response. |

(suicide discussion tw) - It was about that time that he realized just how deeply he was in over his head. Fort Max lowered his arms, trying to feign nonchalance. 'Oh, it was no big deal. I took a few people hostage. Someone got shot because of me, which led to an (almost) suicide.' That didn't even sound good in his head- it'd probably sound horrible out loud. Still, he couldn't just walk out on Nightbeat now. He'd made a commitment, even if it was one he was reluctant to honor. Maximus steadied himself, briefly. It was in the past, and after all, this wasn't an interrogation. They were just...two friends discussing a mystery. If he could call Nightbeat a friend, having just met him. "I went a bit 'off the deep end'. Well, a lot 'off the deep end'. I'm not proud of that, but- but it led to someone getting hurt. Not directly, just- uh...yeah. Red Alert tried to kill himself here. He's alright- was alright- but not for awhile. I don't think anyone has ever actually died here- that's the closest that I know of." Fort Max crossed and uncrossed his arms, thinking. "Aside from that, there are the Legislators? But I don't think that any of them would have left footprints." |

(suicide mention tw) Red Alert almost suiciding as the consequence of Max's actions, and Legislators, being here? Those two event mentions greatly narrowed down the list of potential happenings happening here, but one question still remained in Nightbeat's head, regarding the Legislators as he put aside the other one. Red Alert was in statis to his knowledge, so he was safe for the time being. Humming in acknowledgement, he looked up at Max, not judgingly, but more so interested in the Legislators now over trying to ask more questions regarding Red Alert. "Legislators like Ten in the bar? I heard there was a Killswitch that Tyrest designed, but Rodimus stopped him. Hmm... Were they teleported on board? Is there any other Legislators still functional than Ten? Do you know of anyone who was in the Oil Reservoir when it happened?" |

Oh, thank God, he was changing subjects. "I held down command of the Lost Light while Rodimus was off doing that. They swarmed the entire ship, not just here. As far as I know, Ten is the only living one left- I mean, I think they're living? He's living. There's just piles of dead ones on Luna 1. And then...I'm not really sure who was down here. I was still in the brig at the time." Maximus trusted Nightbeat to find answers, but he had to admit that he was lost. He wasn't even really sure what mystery they were hoping to solve, here. Hopefully Max wasn't just...hindering. "How is this helping?" |

A tiny lightbulb went off in Nightbeat's head. Ten was the only Legislator left that was still functioning - but this footprint looked nothing like his, nor did any other Bots or other mech present on the ship. Are they dealing with something else? The last thing he heard of was the Sparkeater, that was trapped and locked aside - but it's been dealt with. He smirked nonetheless as he responded to Fort Max's question. "Noted. It helps me in many ways - We just need to find out who was present in the Oil Reservoir at the time - and whenever it was them dropping these clues to the mystery or not. If it wasn't them - then we need to find to find the true culprit! I heard of Luna 1 and that mystery being solved, but whom did accompany Rodimus on that visit?" |
