Hmm, I really don't know. I just can't think of any other way for her to be tied to both of the guys. There was the rumor that someone from Luke's past comes to make trouble so maybe she is from Luke's past. Could Luke have sleep with a woman during his 9 mos drought? |

OMG, this is exciting news!! Anything to bring Nuke back into the forefront!! She's beautiful and IMO looks way too much like Noah. My guess is that she comes to Oakdale looking for her "brother" Noah and falls for his boyfriend Luke in the process!! This could cause alot of angst since Noah knew nothing about her, and she's doing her best to get her nooks into Luke. LOVE IT!! Is it mid Feb yet???? |

A lot of that depends on her birth certificate. If Winston is not listed as the father, no, she would not have automatic citizenship. Because she was born in a foreign country, she would need to prove her case and then get the birth certificate changed. Winston could also protest and deny that she's his daughter, even if he is on the birth certificate, which would again, require her to prove her case. It has something to do with the children of GIs or something. I'm pretty sure that's right but I'd have to ask my brother and I'm not sure where he is @ the moment. But I think I remember him telling me about it. And I can't even imagine Luke having sex with a woman; I don't care how long the drought was. The way he's played, I don't know that he'd *physically* be capable. B/c of the Middle East connection, I think it would be a logical ( ) assumption that she might be Col. Mustard's daughter. If she were fleeing an arranged marriage, getting Luke and Noah to help her would make sense. |

That's why Rach, if Luke did marry her to keep her in the states, it would be some funny scenes if he was told he had to consummate the marriage. That would gross Luke out for sure. |

Well, that part could easily be faked. I mean, it would be funny if there was some kind of thing where they both thought that maybe he really should be the one since technically he'd be her husband but...he can definitely get around it!! |

Maybe they can just get Brad the Fake Victorian Dollhouse Minister to perform the ceremony, and doctor a fancy phoney license for them, which wouldn't really be legal, and the authorities would just let 'em all be. |

Well, given that it's Oakdale and everyone of authority seems to be completely and totally incompetent to the point of brain dead, I wouldn't doubt this scenario. However, that wouldn't be very exciting IMO. I also think if you factor in some jealous members of this chick's family....WOW! Of course, you might also get a playing into the stereotype of the vicious Arab male...not sure I want that either. <_< |

Doing all the heavy lifting.....
|
This plotline has such potential. There are so many places we can go with this. Is she a good girl, a bad girl? Is she Noah's sister? Will Luke marry her to keep her in the country? Will she then fall in love with Luke and try to break up her brother's happy relationship? Hmmm..... I'm loving this! I can't wait! |

I like the idea of her fleeing an arranged marriage, that would give her even more reason to marry Luke! And if her husband is a crazy nutjob, he might try to bump poor Luke off. I like it more I think about it! |

I guess I see what you're saying. We don't want to be offensive. But maybe the show can find a way to write around that. I do think her being from Iraq is important. It's somehow going to play into the plot, not just her being Noah's sister, but I have a feeling she's going to be running from something that will bring an element of danger into the story. |

I think the key will be to show her family not as crazy but as traditional. I think it can be done w/out going into 24 territory and assuming that every Arab is a crazy nutjob. |

Yeah.... I probably should've chosen my words better. Sorry, don't meant to offend. But you get the gist of my story! |

I wasn't offended! You'd be hard pressed to offend me. I was just saying that I think bringing some of her Arab family could be done if it was done from the viewpoint of being traditional and taking it from the viewpoint of their culture, and not just wacko (like bubbles was alluding to). I think it would also be a great way to explain Arab traditions about family and marriage to a culture that just doesn't get it. Of course, that would require good writers. So...........*crickets chirping* |
