Doing all the heavy lifting.....
So here's some dish. The show is using this new storyline to boost appeal for Jake/Noah. They get a lot of letters about their dislike of the character and lots of people want a new boyfriend for Luke, despite the couple's popularity. So this Ameera plot is a way to pimp Jake/Noah. I hope it works.... I like Jake. He's a nice guy, he's grown as an actor and I've grown to like Noah.

I have the feeling this story is going to flesh Noah out, define him and give him a personality and answer some of the questions about his past that a lot of viewers have.

What do you guys think?

OLTL rocks!
I had a feeling that this storyline was going to be used to make Noah more likable. Just the way the story seems set up and stuff, made me think that. I'm glad the show is doing that, because there are many people on the fence about Noah and I hope this make them like him more.

It's a smart move, so far Noah hasn't been written for in-depth, and there's nothing much to latch onto to even form an opinion for some people I guess. It sounds like this has been carefully thought out, and I'm surmising it will work out fine. I think the key, though, is that they have to let viewers in on exactly where Noah is coming from, even if Luke's character doesn't get it for a bit. If one reason for this is to make Noah likeable, his good intentions need to be clear from the beginning, as far as the audience is concerned ... I hope TPTB realize that, as well. No more secrective or confused Noah, at all.

LOL! I hope it works as well. Like I said, I do like Jake, and frankly, I think it's important this couple succeed just in terms of what it would mean for the show and daytime in general. Another hill conquered, you know?

I think you're right about that, longtime. I'm not sure that things will actually turn out that way, but if they want us to like Noah, they shouldn't play it secretive and make it actually seem like he's betraying Luke, even if Luke thinks so for a while.

Exactly! That's the problem I'm having and I'm not sure if I can handle watching it. No way. Why would I root for Luke/Noah if Noah can't be honest with him?

I'm right there with you bubbles. If the viewers think Noah might be cheating or even considering coming close to touching a girl, that could only serve to hurt Noah's popularity. If there goal really is to boost Jake/Noah, we are going to have to e clear that Noah's intentions are good and that he is totally loyal to Luke, even if Luke doesn't trust him.

Interesting they are making Henry the foil. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Makes him look like a bitter old queen. :)

Regardless, this all sounds really exciting and it is great to hear the show wants to invest in Jake.

I think the writers do need to work on Noah. I like Jake and Noah, but they really haven't made much effort to make him anything but Luke's newly gay boyfriend. We know so little about him beyond having a mother who was a hooker and a father who was a douche.

There's alot of unanswered questions out there that demand answers. Well, at least I demand the answers. We'll see how far that will get us :D

I really blame most of this dislike of Jake/Noah on the writers, they should have from the beginning made Noah more than just Luke's boyfriend. Not to mention the crap airtime lately that does not help either in regards to trying to like Noah more, heck we only see him when he is with Luke, that needs to change also, they both need to be seen outside of each other. Noah needs some character hopefully this will help.

Henry's involvement really bothers me. I mean, he and Luke barely speak and suddenly he's all up in Luke's love life? Is he that okay with Luke and Noah being together, you know? I know if I were Noah, I would SO pissed that Luke was even listening to him. It's not like Henry isn't biased.

I agree, WG. They've had nearly a year to flesh out Noah's character and they didn't so it's their fault viewers aren't in love with him. I don't blame Jake (anymore) who has really done a good job with the little they give him. But yeah, let's hope this fleshes him out. I would imagine we'd see Noah without Luke sometimes, especially in scenes with Ameera. And let Luke interact with Casey and others in the meantime. They are a couple and they are in love, but they need to break out of the bubble they're in and check out life in Oakdale.

I'm glad though that the show is creating this big new story with the idea of fleshing Noah and making him more appealing. That says to me they really want to invest in Luke, Noah and the couple.

I do blame the writers but I blame Jake also. I really don't think Jake knows how to tone down the chemistry with women. Noah might be gay but you can see Jake creeping through when he's around women and it's distracting to me.

So for me I have to see how Jake acts with TA to see if I can give Noah any support.

I just realized that the initials TA seems a little naughty hahaha!

But.... Van had chemistry with women. He and Jade were amazing together. I loved them. Jake did have chemistry with Maddie, but he was supposed to because he was dating her. If their scenes fell flat or he seemed not interested, we would've never bought the story to begin with. And Alex is the only woman that Jake has played opposite and she was playing his girlfriend. This new girl will be his sister (at least I think she will be) so I would think he'd play it like that.
