Well, I'm going to have to respond to Bubbles here, just can't resist. I'll admit that Jake isn't always consistent in his acting, but I think he has delivered on many emotional scenes. I thought he delivered and showed emotion on the Christmas episode and the episode he asks Luke to move in together. I think more of the blame is the writers for not giving him enough to do or say most of the time he is on screen.

I do think he has done well on occasion but he hasn't delivered at times when I think he could have added more.

I have watched soaps my whole life and there are subtle actors that can still reel you in. There are stoic characters that can reel you in because I believe a actor can add little touches.

the problem I have is when I see Noah , I see Jake acting as Noah. But when I see Luke, I just see Luke not Van. If that makes sense to you. It's hard to explain.

That is true, bubbles, and I think (I could be wrong) it comes from Van being much more like Luke in real life than Jake is like Noah. Also, he's a better actor. Sorry, Pat! However, I do think Jake does a good job, and is severely hindered by the lack of real character development. Given more to do, and better lines (Stop calling Luke names!), I think Jake could impress me. But still, I completely see your point, and I don't ever get drawn into the character as I do with Luke, or for that matter, Carly or Holden.

when he was yeling at his farther like that line "Stop calling Luke Names" it seem like a bad dilivery in that on and some other. that day was not his A game day. the same with NYE ep. were it look more like he was arm candy for Luke that day.

I know i talking bad about Jake, i do define him sometimes..

I'm willing to still give him a chance though with the upcoming storyline and if he does well what will I owe you Pat?

I'll have to think on this for a while and get back to you later.

The "stop calling Luke names" line was delivered as well as it possibly could be, I think. It wasn't Jake's fault that the line was stupid. I will say, and it's mean of me, that the absolute worst line delivery ever from Jake happened on the day that he was wearing that red hooded sweatshirt and listening to music and Lily and Holden came up to him. "Luke--did something happen?" just makes me cringe every time. And to be balanced, Van has delivered some awful ones as well, such as the majority of the confrontation scene with Winston. Ironically, I think Jake came off the best in that scene.

I like it went he was talking to his dad and Dallas didn't move so DD had to listen to Noah that was the only good scene in that i liked.

I agree. I think "Stop Calling Luke Names" and "That's insane" were both badly written lines, but were delivered as about as well as they could be. I agree, Van has had some bad lines as well. I also think Jake was better than Luke in that scene as well.

I don't think anyone did good at the police station so I couldn't say who was worse. It was ALL bad but it made for a good laugh. I mean the "fight" scene

I did think "Luke, did something happen" was cringe worthy too.

But I think I cringed alot in that eppy of the almost kiss When they saw Holden in Old Towne. When Noah said "I know that's crazy" in reference to him and Maddie seeing Cheri. And the worst was when he said the line about having his personal business out there where everyone can see. You can tell all the actors wanted to bust up laughing at that line.

The only thing that I actually blame Jake for, at least mostly, is his chemistry with Maddie, which some Luke/Noah fans deny but to me is crystal clear.  He should have toned it down, and it can't be blamed on Alex Chando or the writers (some of the responsibility should be shared by the director).

what you said right there i agree with. When i seen this to the first day he play Noah.. I didn't know who Luke was or if Noah was for him. I thought Noah and Maddie was going to be a couple the first time i seen them together..

You're not the only one. And to some extent, I think that was deliberate, because they wanted to "surprise" us with the kiss and whatnot. I suspect, although I can't prove it, that people who think that there was something "off" about Jake's chemistry with Alex think that way because they knew Noah was for Luke, and therefore something seemed wrong about him being with Maddie. I would be willing to bet that if people thought Noah was being brought on the show for Maddie, there would be quite a few fans of the couple, who did in fact have great chemistry. I don't blame the writers in this particular case, because the writing was actually pretty good for the most part, but Jake and the director should have telegraphed Noah's discomfort in the relationship more than they did.

I thought Maddie and Noah had terrific chemistry and were adorable together. I kept saying to myself 'are they sure this guy is for Luke, cause he's great with Maddie... he'd be a sweet boyfriend for her.'. But..... they have to have chemistry, otherwise who'd buy the relationship? Those folks (and we know who they are) who refuse to believe Maddie and Noah had chemistry when it was so obvious are the same people who had a 'meltdown' when Maddie and Noah slept together or who are freaking out at the mere thought of Noah sharing a scene with Ameera.

^^^ Yeah, even though I don't think you mean me, I didn't think that they had a great deal of chemistry and I didn't freak out that Noah and Maddie had sex or is freaking out over Ameera. But I think I'm the only one who fits that mold. I'm a strange one I know.

You're not strange at all, Patrick and I probably shouldn't generalize. Everyone is different with different takes on everything. And that is yours. But at any rate, you are certainly not who I was referring to. Not at all. Got to disagree with you about the lack of chemistry between Noah and Maddie. Those two just sparkled and they looked cute together, IMO. But.... as we all know, Noah was meant for Luke.
