V-day Episodes

Doing all the heavy lifting.....
So it looks like the show is doing two V-Day episodes. One will be canon and the other will be a fantasy show. Here's what we've heard about both shows.....

In the canon show, and this is just a rumor at this point Noah, for reasons we don't know, gets the help of Luke's sisters and Emma to make Luke a homemade valentines's card and some cookies. The cookies get burned and all poor Noah has is this homemade card to present to his boyfriend.

In the fantasy show, it's set in the 40's. Noah is cast as a sailor in the Navy and Luke is (I assume) his lover awaiting his return (from the war?).

What do we think if these upcoming episodes?

I must say that the idea of an 18 year old boy making a homemade card and some cookies as a gift to give to his boyfriend for their first Valentine's Day together... a little child-like. That's why, while I'm not dismissing this rumor, have the feeling like always, that there is much more to this. I just don't see Noah doing this. I think that Noah has other plans, but Faith and Natalie, want to help. Noah placates them and the whole thing goes awry and ruins Noah's own plans, forcing Noah to give Luke the homemade card as a gift. And Luke, being Luke, loves it. Either that, OR, Faith and Natalie want to give Luke the homemade card and cookies as a gift from THEM. Again, Noah has made his own plans, but helps the girls. His attempts to do so ruins his own plans, leaving him no choice but to give Luke the card as his own present. Of course, Luke loves it. And I think the whole thing ends with a kiss. That's just my take.

In terms of the V-Day special, I am so on board for that. I love films of that era, the 40's, and apparently all the vignettes are a throwback to that time. It sounds great to me. I can't wait to see it.

In fact, I don't know which episode I'm going to love more.

OLTL rocks!
For the fantasy "What if" shoe, I don't expect Luke and Noah to kiss, since it seems to be set in 1940s and Noah is the Navy, however it sounds like a good episode to me.

For the Canon one, I don't know. On the surface it doesn't sound all that wonderful to me, but I suspect it will play out just fine and I have a feeling they'll kiss on that one.

Longtime

I've been reading for quite a while all over many internet message boards that some people think they haven't had the chance yet to warm up to the character of Noah, because he hasn't been given his own things to do out from underneath Luke - so if this Noah rumor comes true on screen, I think it will make people who aren't sure yet like him more. It would be a good idea to do it that way.

And another thing I just thought about, if the Noah thing happens like this, probably it would include some Noah family-type scenes at the farm without Luke in them, which I think would be good for development of his character.

I agree with both of your posts LT. In fact, the more I think about it, the more the Noah/Faith/Nat scenes sound kind of cute. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I'm in the minority but I think the boys baking cookies and making cards sounds cute. I know it's sugar sweet and whatnot but I love a little sugar every now and then. I'm sure it will play out as comical and I like light hearted scenes too.

I never said it's not cute.... it *is* cute. I just have a hard time accepting Noah setting out to do this. He's a little old for such things. That's why I think it's going to be by happenstance this goes down. Otherwise, I'd have trouble dealing with it.... though I suspect the show will sell it and make it work not matter what.

Well, I thought Noah should be able to say more to Luke than "Same here" too. So I like that Noah is a little immature when it comes to feelings/gifts so this seems in character, He just doesn't really know how to express his feelings in a adult way.

I dunno if I'm making any sense. I'm tired!! LOL

No, you're making sense, even though you're a little tired.... :Nyah:

I get what you're saying... I really do. But, I guess I'm not quite *there*, you know?

I'm looking forward to the fantasy show. I do hope that the boys have a smidgen more screen time than they did on the Christmas fantasy episode. And it would be nice to get a happy ending, as well.

Is it because it seems too corny? Well, I think Noah *is* way corny. I'm sorry but that Halloween fair  and that slammin' fake i.d. party at Yo's

I know everyone thinks the moving in together made sense. While I loved the eppy. I don't see many people complaining they are too young to be living together. People complain about Will/Gwen were too young to be married and have babies but Will just wanted to give Gwen a family too. So I think there's a double standard when it comes to the boys. They are supposed to act a certain way. And I just don't understand that at all.

What it is, to me, is that people are fixated on sex and that Luke and Noah should be having non step sex and make out sessions. And they would.... if they were a pair of real life 18 year old boys. But they are not. They are a teenage soap couple. And they live by a different set of rules. Sex is usually long awaited and very tame and sweet, not hot and heavy. Luke and Noah are in a tough position because while they are boys who should be hooking up 24/7, but they have to live by soap rules and standards of teen coupledom. I think it's hard for a lot of people to get that.

EDIT: And soap romance does tend to be corny at times. It's funny, but if I guy made a card or whatever for his girlfriend, I think people would think it was adorable. But because it's two guys, not so much. So yeah, there is a double standard of sorts.

I do think they'll get more screen time simply because they won't be fighting with the entire cast for airtime and the show is building to the big storyline that starts the week after.

As for a happy ending, I dunno. I love the premise of Noah returning home from the war (I assume it's the war) to Luke. I just love it. Some of the other vignettes don't have happy endings (Meg gets killed in one.... though that is happy to some). Maybe the boys will get one this time since they didn't in the X-Mas special.

ITA bubbles. Noah is corny and emotionally stunted and in odd ways immature for his age (although in some ways he is very mature for his age). I think they could definitely make this work. Also, as Anthony said, you KNOW Luke would just eat it up. He is such a sap.

What I DON'T want is for Noah to get away with not saying ILY again. It just wouldn't be dramatically very interesting. It worked at Christmas, but the next time, he needs to say it for real.
