Doing all the heavy lifting.....
I wasn't expecting Luke and Noah today, but I was watching anyway because my faves Lily and Holden were on. So imagine my total shock and suprise when Luke and Noah not only showed up, but had considerable airtime *and* furthered their story after a few weeks of focusing on Holden and Lily's woes and problems.

To be frank I was shocked by the level of sexuality in today's scenes. For a show that seemed to be flinching away from sex and this couple, they certainly did not today. Luke and Noah, in some very well acted scenes, made it clear that they want each other and want to have sex and are ready to take that next step. But they haven't, primarily because of Luke's need to be there for his family. That makes perfect sense given who Luke is. Even better, Noah understood that.

As we know, Luke and Noah were invited to a party with a bunch of other gay college students. Anxious to consumate the relationship, they decided to go..... until they learn the party included drinking and drugs. I also think the fact that the other guys were drooling all over Noah and talking about seeing him naked made Luke easy. In the end, the boys decided not to go to the party and wait until the time was right for them.

First of all, I'm glad Luke and Noah made the choice they did. It was right for them, for the characters and for who they are. The show made it clear that they want each other.... badly, but they are willing to wait until the time was right. Given that the show spent such great pains sending this message, my guess is that time will be very, very soon.

I think this show was written by someone who was gay or gay friendly. The gay content was just too real for me to think otherwise.

And you know, the rest of the show was pretty darned good too!

This gives me hope for the future of this couple.

One problem with today's show:

Luke and Noah discussed the fact that Noah is sleeping on Emma's couch. Except.... doesn't Noah have his own room? I thought he was going to take one and Faith and Natalie would have to share? Furthermore, why would he agree to stay there if he didn't have his own room? An explaination? Both Meg and Lily moved in after Noah did. But since Noah is not family, he had to give up his room to one of them. That's the only thing that makes sense for this obvious continuity error.

If it was Lily, Noah probably volunteered his room to her, I can see him doing that.

Going beyond the writing here - could we have just seen perhaps the first day of taping after the holiday break? The actors on today's show did their jobs - all of them - with an enthusiasm I haven't seen in quite awhile, it was almost as if they all found out on that day that "something was up" with the whole show, in a good way, and AWT is on the rise.

I have never, ever seen a show as a whole turn on a dime as fast as this one is now, from a writing and plotline standpoint. ATWT in, say a week or two, has quickly ascended itself to another plane, and today's show especially had an air of "Look out here we come" to it. Also - given how mind-blowing all the spoilers were, I had no idea they could ever squeeze in such a significant day in the Luke and Noah story knowing what all is to happen this week. It's almost like they're purposefully saying "we dare you to miss one single day now or you'll be sorry" or something.

THIS version of ATWT absolutely has to continue, period. If the end of the writers strike changes even one thing, it will be a real shame.

About Luke and Noah's storyline today, the clear message they sent to me is that Noah is most definitely sure of who he is, and the life he wants, and he is competely unafraid to act like it. Plus, they were surely trying to make it clear that Luke and Noah are truly two of the good guys the viewers can pull for.

One final thing to say here, if I didn't know better, I'd say that ATWT was "doing" the sweeps period for a change.

I can't watch the whole show yet but I did watch the first clip of Andy's video. And I loved it. The acting was great. I love Luke's little jealousy. It was fine. They were cute, flirty and down-right sexy.

I did laugh when Luke was talking all sexy and close to Noah about him really wanting it and then he backs up and starts talking about his dad hahahaha! Poor Noah. Noah was soooo frustrated with Luke even though he was nice about it. Luke is such a tease.

We need to call Noah ...blue balls Noah.

I can't get Andy's vids to work. Anthony have you posted them yet? I didn't tape today.

Sometimes due to heavy youtube traffic, initially new videos work and don't work and work and......etc. etc. for some reason. If they don't work, you can catch the whole show (which is all good today, by the way) at any of the following, probably before too long:

cbs.com

veoh.com/cbs (slightly bigger picture than the other ones, I believe)

fancast.com (usually a couple of days behind)

I dont know the time frame for the same-day show showing up, but cbs.com is usually any time now and maybe veoh not too much behind that. Veoh is the biggest picture and probably the least likely to freeze because it is the least known about I believe.

Hope this helps, the entire show is worth seeing and is very good today.

They were so cute and sexy.... and I loved the scene where Luke said "I want it so bad...." and then changed the subject. Hil. ar. ious. Yes, and Noah wants it, it's pretty clear. Like he said 'stealing kisses and holding hands is nice but you can't blame a guy for wanting more'. That's the Horny!Noah I remember chasing Luke around the table at Snyder Farm.

No.... I made a mistake and screwed up the show.... thought I had it, but no such luck. Sorry. I'm waiting to download the global feed so I can make my video of the show. But that won't be until tomorrow.....

LT is right though.... the entire show was really, really good and worth watching.

Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled about 2/4 --

A random comment, the look on Dylan Bruce's face when Chris threw Emily's clothes out the door was cat-that-ate-the canary priceless. If you missed that and have the tape, check it out.

There must be an ATWT taping curse or some such thing today, my DVR only had 20 minutes of hard drive space on it so that's all I got on it today. Thank goodness for the ol' backup system, the cable spiltter with the co-ax cable going into the computer tv tuner hooked into Windows Media Center. Got the whole show that way, it's in my computer.

Here's something interesting. The Luke/Noah scenes, a big part of the episode, weren't even included in the recap on the CBS website. I wonder why not?

OLTL rocks!
Ok I just watched the scenes on youtube and have read anyone's coments yet. But DAYMN, they kicked up this storyline a few notches. About time, I say. I have to watch it again, and then actual constructed thoughts will follow.
