I'm not sure if I agree simply because Luke asked if Noah loved him. Noah didn't offer it. If Noah had of tossed that in, it would've been different, but Luke asked Noah how he felt and Noah told him the truth. I don't think it was manipulative at all. Besides, that's not Noah's style, is it? I've never found him emotionally manipulative.
I don't know how long the marriage with last, but it seems like it's not going to be quick solution. I have a feeling we're in for the long haul just by the way it's playing so far. I think these kids are going to find themselves trapped in an impossible situation and not know how to get out of it.
While I don't think Noah used the ILY to manipulate he was being manipulative today. When he went up to Luke , when Luke's back was to him, he was saying stuff about saving a life and telling Luke it's worth it. He was laying it on thick. So to act like Noah hasn't played with people's emotions before is dead wrong. He did it all summer and he can easily manipulate if he has to.
You know you're right about Noah being emotionally manipulative. I guess I kinda forgot what he did last summer. You could have a point.
He can be - but the difference to me is, last year it was all about saving his own skin, and this year he's doing it for more noble reasons. But the tragedy is, they both hurt Luke. And Luke's pain is, for me, a great reason to want to see this story (because they will all do a great job) instead of a reason to tune out.
I agree with this. It's Luke's pain that makes this story. Noah did kinda twist Luke's arm today. He was going to keep at it until Luke agreed with his plan. He didn't expect Luke to ask him to tell him he loved him, But I have no doubt that Noah wouldn't have let up.

It really would have helped if we could've seen them get to know Ameera more slowly, and build some dynamics among the three of them, instead of having them married 2 and a half weeks after she first shows up. I think that one thing would have smoothed out a lot of these little rough spots, this one especially, if they would have known eachother and had real reason to care enough to be doing this.

Amen!! I couldn't have said it better. That's my biggest complaint and that's why people see Noah as an asshole because it looks like he's doing all this for a stranger.

Yup - and for the sake of the story that I'm really enjoying anyway (especially after yesterday and today), and for the sake of the awesome acting in my opinion I've been seeing all the way around, I'm gonna overlook that. I really think that they're all enjoying doing this story, Van and Jake especially, based on watching them play it out, it seems like they both care very much about doing a good job.

I can see how people can come to conclusion of Noah being an asshole, but surprisingly I haven't read much comments on the boards from people who think that. Not much Noah hate on SOC or PGP. Most just blaime Ameera/Winston and/or think that Noah is being stupid. I don't read SON, but they hate Noah already, so I just imagine what there reaction is.

I have seen a lot of Ameera hate too. I actually like Ameera a lot. She is smitten with Noah. but it isn't uncommon for a woman to fall for a gay guy. Just like a gay guy falling for a straight guy or something. It happens.

yeah, SOC doesn't like Ameera much at all. I don't hate her and actually like her when every one of her lines aren't "In Iraq...". I like her. Actually, even know her and Casey only shared a 2 minute scene or so, that's when I found her the most interesting. I don't know why, it was just something about their scenes that I really liked.

Her and Casey were freakin adorable. I think it's because of how shy they were. I loved what I saw. I love contrast too like hair color, eyes etc. Luke/Noah work for me because I love how they look together too. So contrasting couples are my favorite. And Casey/Ameera would look stunning together

To be honest, a lot of people don't like Ameera because she's Middle Eastern. They don't say it, but that's why. Sad though. The show is trying to have some diversity with a little known ethnic group. I've even seen that racist stuff on VH.net and that's just not right.
I do like Ameera though. I like her with Casey. And I think she works well with the guys. She and Jake do have a little sparkage there and I can see she and Van having a 'I hate you' kind of chemistry.
