I think that Noah was able to finally say the words because he knew how much Luke needed to hear them. There was no way that a "of course I do" or "you mean so much to me" was going to cut it. Saying the words weren't easy for Noah, but he did it.

And I don't think he said it to manipulate Luke. I think he said it because he meant it.

It was very difficult for Noah to say that. He basically had to whisper it and choke the words out. But I believe he meant every word. And I agree that he didn't do it to manipulate Luke. In the past, it was easy for Noah to use words to manipulate and get what he wanted, but I think because he feels for Luke so deeply and so strongly that it's hard for him to put things into words. I've never questioned Noah's love for Luke, but hearing him say that on Friday made me see just how much he loves him.

Last summer - Noah was able to be manipulative because he was doing it to hide, and survive going against his father, because he thought that was his only way. And still, Noah's nature is to hide his feelings - but last week, for the first time, he had reason enough not to. It's another breakthrough for Noah, I think at least.

Luke/Noah stalker
he know that he love Luke with all his heart. he know Luke need to hear it. later on he will doubt his decention about marring Ameera becuase his own heart is breaking for Luke. Noah didn't think it through all that was in his mind is to save Ameera now.
