Doing all the heavy lifting.....
That we find out that Noah is not a cold jerk, but that is real problem is that since Daddy Win didn't love or couldn't love him, he feels like he's not worthy of love and that's why he can't trust in his relationship with Luke and freely give himself to him. If that's Noah problem and he can express that and make an effort to stop being a butthead, I'll cut him a break.

I've thought of late that they might be actually doing this, especialy basing it on the summer preview that Luke would be teaching Noah that he deserves to be loved. This just might be it. I do think they will heal Noah by first somehow making him see that Winston is the source of all his problems.

I would cut him some slack too if that's how they present it because otherwise....

I really think they're using this month to show Noah reaching his emotional rock bottom so they can let Luke heal him. They had him at rock bottom after the paralysis and didn't do a blasted thing about it, so I think they're just now getting their act in gear and telling this story. And it might work out even better now actually, because Noah was nowhere near as down and out as he is right now. And the farther they take Noah down, the more rewarding it'll be to see Luke lift him up. If they really aren't telling this story after all this, then they're freakin idiots for gettin' us into all this in the first place.

People....please click his link and go here ....... http://youtube.com/watch?v=bRoUPaLETig

and re-watch starting 3 minutes in. This is Noah, reading that letter from Cheri that was among her things, that Win kept him from seeing. I REALLY wish that on Monday, t p t b would have Luke take this letter to Noah, at the recruiting office, and let him re-read it. It's scary and uncanny how this letter, written by the show last fall, explains EXACTLY where Noah is right now. I'd love to see Noah's mother speak to him from the grave, through this letter, and help him see the army is not for him. Please re-watch this, and pay attention to how well Cheri knew her son. It would be very moving to watch Luke have Noah read this letter again. Of course it won't happen but still, it's really something else.

Yep, Noah has some major "daddy issues" that need to be dealt with. I think most, if not all, of his problems are because of Daddy Dearest.

Another problem with Noah is character assassination. Instead of the writers making Noah more sympathetic during the Ameera s/l, they've done the opposite. I've had my issues with Noah, but I get tired of defending him sometimes. :ermm:

Yeah!! I think they did assassinate Noah during the Ameera storyline. But I think they could redeem themselves.

Something tells me, this just might begin with Monday's show.

Am I one of the few people who *doesn't* think Noah was written out of character during the Ameera storyline? I thought given Noah's major daddy issues and his ongoing issues about being gay, I felt he behaved in character.

^ ^^ ^^^ ^^^^^ That's a very interesting thought.....the only time we've really seen him in a different light, was the paralysis story, when he put Luke up in front of the mirror and made him shape up. "In a bad light" might be a better way to describe how Noah was written during the Ameera storyline. And really, looking back, everything Noah has done since last summer, has been because of the hold Winston has on him. This is just all coming to me as I write this, so I'm thinking and typing at the same time - so bear with me. Here goes nothing.

Before Oakdale, Noah had no idea Win was a bad guy, he just thought of him as a strict father who had such a tight rein on him that Noah never had to think for himself...so Noah never learned HOW to think for himself. Then he comes to Oakdale, meets Luke, and starts to learn that Win is a bad guy....and has to be with Maddie to hide his true colors.....because of Winston. Then, Win paralyzes Luke, and Noah feels like he has to fix his dad's mistake. And then, Ameera comes to town hunting Noah, because Winston stopped helping her when he went to jail. So Noah tries to help Ameera, again to try to fix his dad's mistake. And then, Win temporarily dies, :-) and Noah is sent into a tailspin because his life has no direction now. So....tomorrow may be the first time we have EVER seen Noah truly start to break free from his father, by his own choice....tomorrow, he may finally understand, that all he ever needs to be in this world, is what HE wants HIMSELF to be....he wants to be Luke's. But nobody ever taught him how, so he has to trust Luke to help him learn how to be loved. Very hard step for Noah to take, but I'll bet he tries to take it tomorrow.

Tomorrow may be the true turning point for Noah Mayer. I think tomorrow might be the pivotal episode for his character....at least it should be....and then TPTB really should start letting us see Noah get past his past, and on with his OWN future...with Luke of course.

The point here is.....if tomorrow really is the first time ever that Noah gets out from under Win's influence, then maybe, we weren't SUPPOSED to see any true change in Noah until now. Maybe all of Noah's trying to do right by Luke, and simply not knowing how, was IN character for Noah.....until now that is.....when that character finally starts to change for real, tomorrow when Noah hopefully has a grand epiphany that a life without Luke isn't worth life alone trying to find himself.

Hope this made some sense here .....
