Doing all the heavy lifting.....

No, it makes perfect sense because you're right. It's not just sex for sex sakes. For them it would be a lot more. I think for them, finally being together would be the beginning, not the end. |

I guess I'm just a really sexual person then because I know if my guy was leaving, I would want to "make love" before they went off to training. It wouldn't be the end it would be solidifying my relationship. If we are emotionally together, I would want to be physically together too. I guess I view sex differently. |

Maybe the difference is, they haven't taken this step yet, and when you do, it changes all the rules. |

Besides, the way I saw it, once Noah told Luke was leaving, Luke so upset that Noah was not only going, but why he was going, he really wouldn't be in a romantic mood. Like Luke said, this was about them finally being together. It wasn't about Noah leaving him forever, which Noah is about to do. I really don't think Luke cared about getting laid at that point.... he was more interested in making sure Noah didn't make a terrible mistake. And in a sense, having sex with Noah would be endorsing that because he'd be saying it's okay if Noah just joined the military and walked out of his life. |

I get the impression that the show considers this what I'll call a "big trump card" to play, and it seems like they don't want it to be used as simply a plot device for angst or in a Shakespearian tragedy "let's have our first time before I say goodbye" sort of way, but seems like they'd rather play this card in a payoff sort of way....which means that Luke and Noah at that particular time will have no worries or obstacles. |

How does Noah enlisting means that he was saying goodbye to Luke forever? |

They never really talked about it because the Luke was against Noah leaving so I guess we don't know what Noah's leaving means for the future. Maybe we'll get into that next week. |

The way I took it, whether it was leaving forever or not knowing how long the separation would be, the devastation would feel pretty much the same either way. |

Here's a random thought to pass along, it's starting to really amaze me....first looking back at how much people hate the ways Noah has treated Luke wrongly, and say "they're done watching" and then post the next day, and the next, and the next.......and now, there's some talk like this about what Luke's probably about to do to Noah. And then, how much people praise each, or both, of them on days like July 3rd. My point being, it's amazing how passionately, and how strongly, that people criticize, argue about, and even praise....Luke, Noah, or Luke AND Noah.....every time they do something bad OR good. Sometimes to the point of not even wanting them together, or wanting one or the other to go away....and I've never seen people this passionate about other characters when they screw up, or do right by oneanother...not even Carly/Jack. Nor do I see the comments, arguments, praise, whatever.....go on as long with as many pages and pages of comments as Luke and Noah usually warrant. One day people want Noah to just leave the show, and the next day, one single spoiler line "What made you decide to join the Army"? (which did not even air, by the way) causes so much rumor, or panic that Jake ACTUALLY IS leaving, that all the major press venues have to contact the show for an official statement that a recurring actor is not leaving...or Van has to declare half a dozen times that neither one is going anywhere. Or Jake has to make some sort of statement not to worry, he loves his job and is not going anywhere. And then the simultaneous criticism and praise machine starts anew the next time Luke or Noah gets a hangnail or kills a fly or gives a hobo a quarter. Point is....good or bad, Luke and Noah's every move is noticed, documented, and talked about for days. And you can bet your bottom dollar, that the folks who bring us are very aware of it.

It's more convenient that typing out As The World Turns all the time. But since I had to type out As The World Turns to make my point, having the emoticon globe to replace typing out As The World Turns didn't save me any time this time. From now on though it will because I won't have to type out As The World Turns to refer to "As The World Turns." I'll just use our very awesome As The World Turns globe to stand for As The World Turns.

Yeah, I have to say, as much some people may hate, or dislike Noah or criticize his actions, he has to be one of the most talked about characters on the various boards. Every time Luke and Noah are on or a spoiler is released, somehow it usually ends up as some sort of discussion about Noah. |

Though this weekend, most of the discussion is about Luke outing Noah. The opinions people have about it are interesting. |
