Posted Image In the year 2007, in the Western Hemisphere of the world, there is a range of mountains known as the Rockies. Popular with tourists for its mountain sports, magnificent views and its National Parks, the mountain range is agreed to be amazing by all those who visit. There is more to this location than meets the eye. Somewhere in the centre of the Rocky Mountains is a magic school - One which has been around for over 600 years. Soaring Eagles has been accepting children with magical abilities for the entire time they have been open. Over the years, the school has progressed and gotten far more advanced than it was when first opened. The four school houses - Atra, Aqua, Lumen and Solum - were set up by four founders. These founders were all friends to one another, of course. At least ... they were for a little while. Yet that is all in the past. Here at Soaring Eagles we think about the future of our students. The future, after all, is all that matters. What is in the past is done and the wizarding world has yet to come up with a theory for time-travel. And so until that day comes, the future is all that is important (except, of course, in History of Magic lessons). Children from ages 11 to 18 attend Soaring Eagles from the beginning of September to the middle of July. On their 11th birthday, a letter is delivered personally by a member of staff who makes sure that the letter is given to the correct person. All students then take a train from wherever they live to the same station in the Rocky Mountains. Once they arrive at the station, they then must head outside and walk into the train station's wall. They will then end up inside a secret room where hundreds of mine carts, each large enough room for four students and their luggage, which run on tracks beneath the ground. After a ten minute journey in the dark, sunlight then appears once more and the carts come to a stop outside the village of Firthfaal. Once there, they leave their luggage, which is taken to the castle by the mine carts that continue up to the castle and they walk for five minutes up to Soaring Eagles. The four school houses, Lumen, Solum, Atra and Aqua, gather new members every year. Lumen, the intelligent; Solum, the reliable; Atra, the cunning; and Aqua, the loveable. Students are sorted on the first day of each year and soon they learn to adapt to their surroundings. Muggle-born, half-blood and pure-blood students from across America are placed into these four houses and taught to control the magical blood running through their veins.
