The kingdom of Starflyd had always been a nice, quiet place during the rule of King Florian. It was hard for it not to be, as he always had a very firm grip on everything that went on in kingdom. He didn't pick favorites, but played a fair game in what he did. He believed in honor. Most of the other nobles, however, did not.
King Florian had seven sons: Septimus, Octavius, Florian IV, Tristan, Veridius, Willows, and Char. Three of his sons were amongst those within the rebellion, though to this very day the mystery is to which of the three out of the seven. They lead the rebellion through the peaceful Stoneward, killing their father, and their oldest sister, Pendra, leaving their mother, brothers and younger sister devastated. No one but the members of the rebellion know who out of the brothers were there, and none were speaking on the matter.
The second eldest of the sons, Octavius, loved a girl. A maiden in the kitchens. How unlikely, unusual, and, sadly to say, impossible was this relationship. The councillor, now in temporary rule, discovered such rumors to be true, and ordered the girl killed in front of him. Octavius went mad afterwards, and hung himself from the highest tower in the palace, after having yelled to the surrounding village that he was one of the three of whom had led the rebellion.
The fifth eldest of the sons, Veridius, had a similar situation occur to him. There were three sisters, in his case. He enjoyed the company of two of them, the lovelier of the two, Millicent and Candescant, while the only one who truly loved him, Jessabelle, was forced to watch from the sidelines. One night, Jessabelle had decided that she had had enough of all of it, and murdered her sisters in their sleep. Veridius, enraged, killed Jessabelle the day afterward. He had thought he had done the kingdom a favor by ridding it of the girl, only after he was soaked in here blood did he realize what he had done. He shouted for everyone to hear that he was the second son who led the rebellion, before killing himself with the very knife he used to kill Jessabelle.
Now, the only thing people within the kingdom are worried over is who out of the brother's left could have been the third young man to have led the rebellion. The terror the question has struck itself has left the kingdom weak and dishevelled. Lately, the last brother, whomever he may be, has been striking down anyone of whom was related directly to his brother, mainly cousins. The Queen, though not so much in rule, has been doing as much as she possibly could to protect her family, and talks to none of her sons anymore for fear of which one she might let something slip to. She has been busy marrying off as many of her nieces and nephews as she possibly can to save their lives, and to her great surprise, it has been working.
It seems as though whichever son has become so gruesome, simply wants to rule, and has been trying to get all those in line before him out of the way. Those of whom married out of the royal family and into that of mere nobles are no longer eligible, and therefore, safe. Everyone else, however, is being struck down, one by one. Which brother could be doing this?
Meanwhile, the strange laws of the councillor take their effect on the citizens of Starfyld. Within each city or township of this once fair land, it has been decided that only the oldest son of each family may marry, and worse, only one girl, elected by village council, will be their option. She must chose between the oldest boys of each family...
Certain citizens ignore these laws completely, and attempt to marry anyways, some with success, others without. Some attempts turned ugly, and resulted in the death of the lovers, and each of their families. Some of this, mainly women of whom wished to marry who now cannot, has resulted in the rapidly rising number of prostitutes down at the Witches Slave.
Turmoil amongst the peasants, the merchants, and the nobility. God knew only that this day would come. God, and the stars in the heavens. So maybe if your lucky, you'll catch a falling star. Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away...
