News
LDL is baack, finally. We've fixed her up a bit and cleaned up old topics and made other changes. However, the plot still needs a little help. I thought maybe the best way to go would be to wait until you the members were able to see everything before we tweaked the plot so please feel free to post any ideas or suggestions you may have.

old news
There's a bunch of fun stuff that's about to happen plotwise. Also, go and take a look at the subplots, some of them need more characters before they can happen. [=

The year is 1978,
Voldemort has been gathering followers for eight years. The war against him has been raging for six years. During those first two years Voldemort was able to establish himself more than Dumbledore himself could have ever realized. Before the order caught on, the Dark Lord had gained control over several of the major dark wizarding families. His disillusioned words on grander pumped him up to be some kind of god. His many speeches about blood purity, and keeping mudbloods where they belonged, with the muggles, drew many powerful pureblood families in. After all they had been thinking the same thing for many years now, it was just now that they had a leader to focus their hate under. Voldemort was always a strong speaker, and the old saying wears true in this case. One can get anyone to do anything if they are convincing enough. When Dumbledore did catch on to what was happening, what did he do? Well he rounded up his best and brightest, those he knew could handle the war. This included several of his former students.

The month was Febuary 1978,
and Voldemort's plans were working perfectly. During the previous months, he and his followers had been slowly but surely corrupting the ministry. They started at the bottom, and started working their way up. Of course he had to have people in the ministry first, so I suppose you could say this plot was hatched many years prior to this. But as the plan was just recently set into motion we'll go with this. The Dark Lord's followers started at the bottom rung. Petty janitors, and day laborers, but once those people were infected it was easy to infect others. Next came secretaries, and low grade office jobs. It didn't take as long as expected for them to reach the minister himself. Once that happened the whole government did an about face. Sure, before the Minister was trying to deny any such evil presence, and that there was a war. But after her was cursed, he denied the existence of Voldemort all together. He told people it was a ruse Dumbledore had hatched to discredit him, and take his position. Suddenly the Daily Prophet was producing scandals about Dumbledore, and his ingenious ploy to usurp the minister. Rita Skeeter was the head of the whole ruckus. And people believe all of the lies, because the prophet was once credible.

The month was May 1978,
when Voldemort opened his little camp. No one suspected what his followers were buying the land up for in the previous months. However, it was made perfectly clear when concrete buildings surrounded by a large concrete wall was built on that land. Concrete walls may have surrounded the camp, but magic is what kept it's occupants in. Or their lack of access to it anyways. Once a witch or wizard was taking prisoner to be taken to the camp, they were striped of their wand, and marked with a number tattoo by their own wand. When a warden of this institution waves it's wand over the tattoo, all the information of that witch or wizard will be said out loud by that particular witch or wizard. Once this information is pronounced the warden must decide what to do with that particular person. There are a number of ways to dispose of mudbloods, halfbreeds, and blood traitors. And each warden has their favorite technique. Some prefer burning, other prefer the rack, and others prefer more magical ways of torture. It matters little, for it is well known once someone goes to the camp, they never make it out alive. Blood traitors are also taken there to be tortured into disclosing information, once they have been they are tossed amongst the others.

The month was June 1978,
the sun was bright that month, and it seemed like the world was finally going just how James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, and all their friends wanted it. They were graduating from Hogwarts, and moving on to the real world. Some of them had been already recruited by Voldemort himself, through their families, and others had been recruited by Dumbledore. Of those who were recruited by Dumbledore, the Marauders were four. And everyone of those graduating was so sure of the cause they were going to fight that they didn't second guess what their leader told them. Little did the Marauders, and other future Order members know, that they were heading into an up hill battle with a powerful force that still to this day effects London. Dumbledore, like Voldemort, pumped their heads full of illusions of grandeur, how they all would be heroes when this was through. Little did they know that the war outside the safe house of hogwarts was much worse than anyone expected.

The month was July 1978,
and no one would have suspected what had happened. Voldemort waged a major attack on France. There are whispers that he did it just to show that he could. That it was a show of his power to him. It matters little why he did it exactly. What matters is that, he and his followers staged major explosions at the three key points in France. One explosion was at the French wizarding hospital, another at the Beauxbaton school of witchcraft and wizardy, and the third was at the French building of Government. Thousands were killed in these attacked, thousands more lost someone. And thousands more still fled the country. Many of those who fled went to the French country, but several others came to London to join the fray.

The month is August 1978,
and you can't tell who's on your side and who's not anymore. The Death Eaters have double agents working for them, and spying on the ministry, and vice versa. Couples are getting married quickly, then trying to have families. No one feels safe in their homes. Many turn to drugs to help relieve some of the situation. The Death Eaters are rounding up mudblood, and halfbreeds left and right. The society has turned to complete chaos, and you can't even count on your best friend, or love anymore.
