News
LDL is baack, finally. We've fixed her up a bit and cleaned up old topics and made other changes. However, the plot still needs a little help. I thought maybe the best way to go would be to wait until you the members were able to see everything before we tweaked the plot so please feel free to post any ideas or suggestions you may have.

old news
There's a bunch of fun stuff that's about to happen plotwise. Also, go and take a look at the subplots, some of them need more characters before they can happen. [=

  • [size=0]They were keeping something from me, again. I had no idea what, but I knew it was something. The way Edward looked at me while I was falling asleep. It was more protective than usual. When I went to the Cullen’s home after waking up, everyone was speaking lowly and quickly, like there was something they didn’t want me to hear. It was worrying me, but I was afraid to say anything. But once I heard them talking at normal volume and speed in the kitchen, I walked in and everyone’s face turned to stone. Their voices lowered and slowed. That was it. I was sick of pretending to be oblivious and acting like I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. I went into the living room and sat next to Edward, giving him a stern look. He returned it, tilting his head a bit. “What’s going on?” I asked him, giving him a face that demanded an answer. “Nothing” he replied, pulling me into his lap and wrapping his stone cold arms around me. I was shaking my head. I knew he was lying.

“Tell me now, Edward. I’m not stupid,” my voice cracked at the end. He really didn’t want me to know; this was scaring me. It must have been something big. His face softened and he kissed my hair before taking a useless deep breath. “We’re going to have some visitors…” he told me, staring across the room, his eyes far away. Alice appeared not but two seconds later, staring at Edward with her hands on her tiny hips. Her pixie like features all looked slightly annoyed as she stared hard at Edward. His far away eyes returned to reality and met hers. Another sigh escaped his flawless lips.

“You were to not tell until we figured things out, Edward!” her melodic voice scolded. He rolled his eyes and set me back on the couch, walking over to Alice with his arms crossed over his chest. “We weren’t fooling her, Alice,” he told her, glancing at me. I watched with wide eyes. Visitors. What kind of visitors? What was their goal? Were they going to be nice visitors? Alice rolled her eyes at Edward. “Of course we weren’t fooling her, Edward. But we still didn’t want to scare her. You might as well just tell her everything, now!” Her high voice was still in a scolding tone, but I sensed she was softening up. Edward raised his hand and touched the back of his head, rubbing it slightly before approaching me again. He sat beside me and pulled me close, stroking my hair as he did so.

“Alice doesn’t know everything, yet… But what we do know is that there’s a small coven coming. They’re not gold-eyed. They’re not…nice,” he seemed to have trouble with the last word. So they weren’t nice. Why were they coming? I stared down and cuddled myself closer to him. I could feel myself burning up in fear. His arms tightened around me. “W-why are they coming…?” I asked, my voice trembling. Even after the newborn fight with Victoria, it still scared me. The thought of losing any of them. They were my family. “Don’t worry, Bella…” he said, continuing to stroke my head. “We can take them…” Take them? Who said anyone had to take them? Now I was really worried. This was going to be another battle. Shivers ran up and down my spine. My heart raced. The color ran from my cheeks. “Bella, Bella…” his soothing voice calmed me a bit. “They’re small. There are only five of them. No one will be hurt, everyone will be perfectly unharmed.”

Okay. So there was only five. I could live with that. I nodded and looked up at him, my lips pursed. I didn’t know what to say, but I hoped my nodding let him know that I wasn’t so scared anymore.

    -----

Now I was scared. The confident faces everyone had been keeping all this time were starting to leak of fear. At least that’s what I thought. Alice seemed so confident in the past couple days, but now she seemed skeptical. I knew there was more news that no one was telling me. I approached Alice with my hands in my pockets. “What’s new?” I asked. “Tell me. I have to know, Alice. I have a right to know.” Her eyes flickered to Edward, who was only a few yards away from me. Alice looked back to me and sighed. “They’re making an army,” she started bluntly. That was all I needed to hear. So not only were five experienced vampires coming to battle, but they were going to make newborns. Around me, the world closed in and my sight went black.

I don’t know how much later it was, but I was starting to hear voices. Edward’s, mostly. “When is she going to wake up?” he asked. His voice didn’t sound so surprised that I had fainted. I guess he was used to it by now. Alice answered in a flat voice. “Three… Two…”

My eyes flew open and Edward embraced me right away. His arms wrapped around me and he kissed my hair over and over. “We can take them, Bella. No need to worry. We faced over twenty newborns before and we won. We can do this. We can do this.” It sounded almost like Edward was reassuring himself. Was he worried, too? My heart rate accelerated once again. He kept stroking and comforting me. It was all going to be okay. It had to be.

    -----

The coven was here. Edward had me sleeping at their house, with help from Alice saying that all the boys were leaving and she, Rosalie, and Esme needed company at home. Edward wouldn’t risk it.

A phone call came from Billy Black the next day. He said Jacob had come home, but he was a depressed wreck. I felt horrible now, on top of worrying and being terrified. Then, Billy sounded angry. He was yelling at Edward, saying things about breaking the treaty. Edward said he didn’t break any treaty, and he was getting angry, too. He handed the phone to Carlisle. “No, we didn’t bite anyone,” was the first thing he said. I sat on the couch, listening closely. “Oh… Ah… Well, I assure you, it was not us…” Someone was missing. Billy thought it was a Cullen. “How many? Ooh…” More than one person. Alice ran into the room, but she seemed like she was only going to tell us whatever Billy was already telling Carlisle. Her visions must have been slow today, what with all that was on her mind. But I knew what this meant. The coven had recruited their newborns. The war was on.
