![]() Greetings everyone! I just wanted to once again thank you for your support in joining the MyVMK Integrity Movement (aka MIM Squad)! It is an honor to have you all on board. Let's begin with a few of the topics I wanted to discuss in our first meeting. Please do not forget to also post about yourself in our "New Members" section! I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas. All my love, SweetTea Positions To keep things running smoothly, I would like to maintain a bit of structure within our squad. To do this, I have decided to personally elect people to fill the roles of the following positions: Vice President, Chairmen, Co-chairmen, Secretary and Treasurer. I am thinking that as our community grows, we may need to add a few other positions such as administrators, web designer, etc. If you have any ideas for other positions, please include them in your post! In the mean time, I have added a post under the "General" section which includes instructions on how to apply for these positions. As I get to know each of you personally, I am also trying to size up who I feel will be able to best serve for each position. As President, I am proud to lead and represent each of you. I have the absolute best intentions for our community. I am looking for people that will make a good team to lead our movement. Publicity We need to think of ways to get our movement out there in order to gain more members. If any of you happen to be good with web design, I would love to get these forums looking a little more professional. Also, in my experience, people are usually struck by the elite. In other words, when we host MIM Squad recruitment events and other community benefiting events, I think it would be beneficial to decide on a uniform that everyone can wear. If someone does not have the decided uniform, I and the other members will help you buy one or trade for it. I suggest that our uniform is not something severely expensive but something that will attract others to want to join. You do not have to keep this uniform on all the time, but I suggest we wear them during our hosted events. Forum Layout As I insinuated above, I am by no means a web designer. I would like to get someone on board who is experienced with web design and could help me to make this forum more attractive similarly to the way the official MyVMK forums look. Even if you are not experienced in web design, feel free to post ideas! I also think that the wording may be a little awkward between the topics and sections. Keep in mind that I set up this forum in as little as two hours, so I am doing my best! Community Concerns What concerns do you have personally for the community? What do you think needs improvement and what do you feel is wrong about our community? Solutions How do you think these concerns can be addressed? Communication I would like these forums to become our primary source of communication between one another. I would also like to have everyone friend each other in-game so that we can communicate that way as well. However, I plan on posting all of our meetings and decisions here, that way we do not have to worry about not being able to have everyone meet at the same time. Events I would like to host several different types of events not only for MIM Squad members but for the entire community. This may also become a great way to recruit new members! I thought that perhaps weekly giveaways and game nights might be a good idea. If you have any other suggestions, please let us know! Other Ideas I would like to hear all of your ideas and opinions on the topics listed above! Also, please let us know about any topics you would like to hear covered in our next meeting. Keep in mind what our purpose is and what we stand for. Do not put others down. If you do not like one another's ideas, please say so respectfully and provide additional suggestions. |

@JenJaws Making new Skype accounts was what I was thinking. I made one thinking it would be handy with the username KPufFTheMagicDragon for MyVMK purposes. But yesyesyes, I like that idea! And then that way, if we wanna just chat, we can. If we wanna call and talk, we can. And it can be downloaded to almost any device. |

I feel like if we had our own vmk skypes anonymity wouldn't be too big of an issue at all, because it would be just us. And it's compatible with computers and phones. I like it.

I don't mind any anonymity issues, that is up to you all. However, we do need to comply with MyVMK rules. I will download anything to my phone such as skype, or whatever we all come to an agreement on. However, my laptop is broken and the one I have access to does not have a webcam or mic, so preferably anything I can get on my phone is the best on this end. |

Hello Everyone! Sorry for being so late on the bandwagon I have had jury duty this entire week which has taken up a ridiculous amount of my time. A lot of the ideas that have been talked about sound like a very good start. To get the word out I think the best way is for the meet and greet because it gives others a chance to come in and talk and ask questions in an environment that is open where they can get a feel for who we are and what our main mission is all about. (For uniforms I am particularly fond of the sorcerer mickey hat, but that is just my two cents ^^) I'm not particularly a really active member in the community and I think that may have just stemmed from not meeting the nicest of people. Oftentimes I just go on to get credits, maybe play a few games, and then go offline. As that one person was expressing in the forums in some circles there are those who are known to have a lot of stuff and sometimes flaunt it. They look down on other players. On the other side of this I have seen incredibly kind individuals who, when someone new has a question, quickly responded and helped out. The only way I believe to spread our message is through action, by being that caring person who goes up to a random person and strikes up a conversation, who helps those who are new or who may just have a question. To essentially create a togetherness that I feel has been lacking as of late. Game night sounds incredibly fun, or even just hang-out/party rooms. I'm not the best of builders but I do have a lot of stuff and would not mind at all donating or just creating rooms! Sorry if I have rambled a bit, I'm quite exhausted XD |

So am I .
Puff and I did this exact thing earlier this evening, after stepping away from the memorial service to make room for more players! We've already made at least two new friends if not three .

We played "IT Help Desk" getting this girl's friend online. It was actually really fun. |

Awesome job guys for getting involved! Plus, I was sooooo glad to see so many of you at the memorial service, being super kind, considerate, and supportive of everyone around you! Shoutout to Puff, Cody, Ace, Mushroom, and Hannah! You are all awesome! (Sorry if I missed anyone or messed up a name.) Puff and Cody, Way to go with being helpful! OlduvaiFossil, Thanks for joining us! I like the Sorcerer Mickey hat idea. Plus, I don't see too many of those around either. I'm glad you're joining us! I understand if you're busy. Most of us probably are with work, school, etc. so it's understandable. (And so sorry about that jury duty... I've never had to go before, since I'm a full-time student.)

By the time you all read this, I'm sure you'll have seen Abs most recent update on the MyVMK forums. I'm shocked. Like so many others, I too shed very real tears for a girl I'd never even met. The truth is though, the emotion was real, and a lot of people shared that emotion, misguided though it may have been. We shed tears for a girl we didn't know, but what was really suffering was the community. I think the community needs us now more than ever! When I see "MyVMK Integrity Movement," I see "Integrity" as being synonymous with "Honesty." The community needs us. They need us to be there, to be honest, and to be real. Puff and I had a great time last night greeting players and helping a new player find her way into MyVMK! That's just one of many things that we're all about! As the community distances themselves from recent events, we have to "Keep moving forward" and redirect our emotion to supporting it. We may have just met, but I've never been [deliberately] dishonest a day in my life and have no intention of starting now. I'm here to stay, and I'm honored to be working with you all .

Okay, so I know I have been away for a little while and wow! I am so glad to see the forums being put to such great use. I have checked in to several of the softwares mentioned above and I have to say I agree with JewJaws. From my experience, although Skype tends to crash, I have noticed that it doesn't crash as much as a few of the other softwares. That's not to say that it's better per se, but I am saying that it might be a more beneficial option as far as avoiding crashes for in-game events. Would you guys be open to have two separate Skype accounts? That would mean you have a personal Skype and a MIM Squad Skype with just your in-game name as the username. I will create a poll and we can see how many votes we get for each software. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to continue to continue commenting! |
