![]() Greetings Mimions! I am back from the sunny Outer Banks and I am looking forward to continuing the progress that the staff and representatives have made since I have been away! I see we have gained several new representatives. This is so exciting, welcome everyone! Well, to all old and new representatives, here are a few topics for discussion. Please feel free to suggest anything that I have not covered and comment on the things that I have. All my love, SweetTea Gallery We encourage everyone to please submit their photos from our MIM Squad events! There is now a photo submission box located at the bottom of our gallery on the website. Please include the photo(s) URL and name of the MIM Squad event in your submission! ![]() Event/Game Rooms Everyone will now have access to the Rooms forum under the Event Planning Committee section in our forums. Here you may upload photos of any rooms you would like us to use for future events. Kindness Award The Kindness Award has been created to promote good behavior and excellent citizenship of the myVMK community. To get this award up and running, we need YOUR help! The staff and I can only afford so much. Since we are growing in numbers we ask for your participation in donating at least 1k a month to the MIM Squad funds. This is by no means a requirement, this is something we simply ask of you to do to help promote the squad and make the Kindness Award possible. Seeing as this award is something we will only offer once a month, the award can be something a little more expensive than usual. I would like to see this award being of equal value to 10k. If we have donations that exceed 10k a month (and I certainly hope that we do), these funds will either be used to provide game prizes or roll over to be used the next month. Please submit your monthly donations to our Treasurer, SundanceCody. There is now a Kindness Award section on the site! There will be two forms that will determine who will win the award. The first form includes nominations which can only be submitted once a month. The second form can be submitted multiple times at any time. The second form will be for any good deeds you witness around the Kingdom. Please keep in mind that you may NOT nominate yourself nor submit any witnessed good deeds on your own behalf. Any nominations/good deeds that violate these instructions will not be accepted. We will encourage players MIM Squad representatives and non-representatives to place their nominations DURING our held events so that I may collect each nomination and verify that they are true nominations and just just for themselves or clones. This does not 100% eliminate fraudulent nominations but it certainly does help prevent them. Lastly, I have added a Hall of Fame on the Kindness Award page of the site. Here there will be a photo of each and every winner of the Kindness Award along with a photo of what they won that month. Hopefully players will opt for good behavior in the hopes of being nominated! Newbie Help Desk I am in the process of building a room in which all MIM Squad representatives and staff can use at their own leisure to aid new players in learning the ins and outs of myVMK. Upcoming Event(s) Please respond to the doodles posted under the Scheduling page on the site. I would like to get everyone's availability as soon as possible. It would be ideal to run at least one MIM Squad event a week if at all feasible. We also need to decide on the room theme or game for our event and whether we will be giving out a prize. I'd like to stay within each month's theme. This month's theme is Disneyland Park. Quests It would be amazing to host at least one quest event a month. I really loved the idea of beginning in our room and having players go from room to room in teams throughout the Kingdom and speak with a MIM Squad representative to answer a question and move on to the next room until they win. Why don't we plan for a quest at the end of every month that way we have plenty of time to prepare for each one? This month we need Disneyland Park trivia questions! Uniforms We have taken quite a bit of time to decide on uniforms. This is a pressing issue as we are hosting more and more events. I'd like to get this decided no later than a week from today. Please respond to the uniform poll that is still available on the forums in the Polls section. There will be more uniform polls posted shortly. Please encourage your friends to respond as well. I will be sending out a PM and shoutout to everyone as a reminder of the deadline. Gallery I took four pics at the Pre-4th of July event! I’ve already submitted them! Newbie Help Desk This sounds like a great idea! Quests I think it would be an awesome idea to plan a quest! We would probably all need to be on Skype and logging sections to make sure people complete every section. Events A couple suggestions here, I think drama has died down enough and it would be safe to advertise some of our events on the forum. I think we may want to consider making a rule that every event post is checked by a fellow member, but to make sure there aren't any spelling/grammar errors or that others can't easily misinterpret something we say. Also, would we want to consider a random door prize for certain events, maybe a random person in the room at a certain time that we post on the forum? |

Gallery: A question about the gallery: When we submit photos to the gallery, will those photos be uploaded to the Weebly site, or will we need to ensure that they're hosted off site somewhere permanently? I've got a few photos as well, but they're on my Dropbox right now, which I purge from time to time. Event/Game Rooms: Awesome! Hopefully this will encourage everyone to get involved with room design even if they aren't a part of the Event Planning Committee .Newbie Help Desk: I'm so excited about this! Upcoming Event(s): We've got quite a group now, so I'm really excited about getting more MIM Representatives attending events! Please respond to the doodles; it only takes a couple of minutes, and it'll help SweetTea, Jen, and the Event Planning Committee in choosing a date and time for each event that will work well for as many MIM Representatives as possible. The more attendance we have at our events, the more people we can encourage to join! Quests: I'm really excited about this one too because I haven't seen anything quite like it in the kingdom before! I think it'll be a huge success once the logistics are worked out and a solid quest has been built. Uniforms: Yep, I think we've reached that point. It's time to get those last polls in and reach a verdict .

Cody, the photos that staff and representatives submit on the site are sent directly to my personal email address. From there, I post the photos onto the site and save a copy on my own desktop. If I find the time in all this craziness, I may keep backups on our own dropbox which I can give staff the password to in case any of our records or photos go missing. On a side note, this happened before about a month ago and it was potentially disastrous! Jen, I know I already spoke with you in person (in-game) about this but I really like your idea concerning getting at least one other member's approval prior to submitting an announcement on the myVMK forums. This is a good step in preventing any unwanted backlash. I propose that as our next event, we host an "Ugly Truth" event. Hopefully this will encourage representatives to get to know one another and the staff better resulting in a higher participation rate for future events and more responses to the Doodles! The Ugly Truth event could simply be a bunch of us gathering to tell stories of things that have happened to us, talking about our plans for our future, who we are, etc. I'd like for us to play 2 truths and a lie. That would be a fun ice breaker for the squad. Of course, this will also be open to non-MIM Squad members as well and hopefully it will encourage them to want to join! A campfire-style room would be really fun for this. Does anyone have anything campfire-style related? Edited by SweetTea, Jul 4 2015, 03:00 PM.

One thing I thought of today, is to have a "What is the MIM Squad?" room. A couple of us could randomly gather in there, just to explain to players about the MIM Squad. It may generate some interest. |

Something that I forgot to mention in my post: If you wish to make a donation to MIM, please send me a PM to work out a time that we can meet up in MyVMK. As a general rule, I can get on weekdays between 8:00pm and 12:00am EDT. Saturdays are more flexible, and Sundays are generally a toss-up. There are exceptions of course, but if that's case, I'll let you know . If we can't work out a convenient meeting time, I'll try to find another staff member who can meet with you in-game and relay your donation for you.

Gallery I need to see if I have any leftover pictures from events passed. I'll let you know! Event/Game Rooms I am not very good at building rooms, but my Trivia Trees room is still up and running! And I owe Jen 1 pirate throne and... I think HannahOlivia 2 thrones. Newbie Help Desk I like this idea. I was thinking of doing one myself called "Tech Support", but then I realized the people having difficulties probably couldn't log on... so. Upcoming Event(s) I'm really sorry that my schedule has been so crazy, guys. Quests I am in love with this idea! We would need quite a few people to participate to accomplish this. Uniforms This really needs to get wrapped up, guys! I'm liking the lanyard shirt/sorcerer mickey combo. |

Alrighty, so the uniforms poll has been posted. Once uniforms have been decided, this will be the last polls we administer on the forums and polls will then be taken over to the website. I am just trying to keep things a little more manageable. Puff, you made me laugh about the tech support room! That was a good idea, maybe you could maintain a tech support thread on the main forums under the Programming/Tech section! Jen, a "What is the MIM Squad?" room is a great idea! Does anyone have any good rooms they'd be willing to volunteer for us to use? At the moment, I am currently working on the campfire event room and a New Player Helpdesk room. Cody, once I get everything I am working on at the moment out of the way, I will be posting in various places on the site and the forums for people to contact you when they wish to donate. |

Another thought: For planning things far in advance, the Doodle isn't the easiest to use anymore, and with so many of our changing schedules, we don't really have the ability to edit a Doodle easily once we post it. I made this as a template to see your opinion if we should switch to a spreadsheet-format. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fXHGueIj30CvItDWMG9w6BEc2NwQj_XjdlgkfUs19aM/edit?usp=sharing What do you all think of using this instead of the Doodle? This sample only has one week in it, but I was thinking we could have two weeks posted at a time, this week and the next week. When this week ends, I would clear it, move it to the end, and change the dates to the new 'next week'. Let me know what you think. |
