I've noticed a lot of teams have been listing guys they signed out of the tiers for 590k as "min/1" on their rosters. THIS IS INCORRECT. Min and 590k are different. 590k is the MAJOR LEAGUE minimum, however minor leaguers on pre-arb contracts and players signed out of the leftovers pool make significantly less when in the minors. Anyone signed out of the tiers makes the FULL 590k REGARDLESS OF LEVEL. This is occasionally known as "the MBI rule" since MBI used to just bid on 25 dudes at the min. So for example, if you signed 4 guys at "min/1" during the tiers, YOU ARE PAYING THEM OVER 2 MILLION DOLLARS COMBINED, NOT the minimum. And for trading purposes, other clubs need to be aware of this. If you deal a player to another club who you have listed as "min/1" but it is actually a full 590k/1 deal, YOU WILL BE FINED, thus costing you more money than you actually pay the player. It would be wise to go back and edit anyone signed during regular free agency to 590k/1 versus min/1, because they are NOT the same thing. Thank you.
