Right now, concerning the actual general concept of RP, we only have 3 rules (give or take), and they are as follows:
Now, given that 11 & 12 are pretty much self-explanatory, I think 4 could be broadened a bit. I only found out like 12 hours ago that it pretty much applied only to battles, though it doesn't say that. Granted we don't have any battle threads yet, this is where the point of this thread comes in to play. As we all know, tomorrow marks the "start" of the war in terms of the actual roleplay with an event produced by the Administrative division of out Staff. However, I feel with some of our members away for extended periods of time (or simply just not posting while they have the chance, an quite clearly, the time), we're going to end up locking up in an RP thread that will have no conclusion. What I recommend is something I picked up from the first RP site I was ever on. It's relatively simple, and fair to all the players involved. It is as follows, and applies to all RPs: - RPs with at least 3 people dont need a posting order, though in some cases recommended, as it's easier to keep track of the happenings with few people. Larger RPs, however, with 4+ players will more than likely need posting orders to keep them organized and easy to follow. - Our 72 hour rule works perfectly for this, since it gives the players 3 days to continue the RP. Day 1 goes as normal, Day 2 a warning via PM or some other form of communication to make the poster aware, and day 3 for a final warning. What I suggest is that after Day 3, the poster who has yet to post is either dropped from the RP all together or CPC (Companion Player Controlled) by another player in the thread via an NPC-like post. CPC moves would have to match the RPing characteristics the character has shown throughout the RP. NOTE: For battle threads, after Day 3, I feel it would be in line to drop the players in question from the RP via injury. - Anyway, after the player is dropped/CPC'd, the cycle would continue as normal. ---------------- In conclusion, yeah, you get it xD I apologize to those who may feel targeted by this in any way, because that is not my intention. I know I may seem impatient, but I want things to pick up and seeing topics that aren't posted in regularly is a pretty big turn-off for potential members who visit the board. Of course, as any suggestion I've ever made, this is open for debate and modification. ~Kenji |

I second this big time...though to be honest I hate posting orders and if someone doesnt post within 72 hours I usually just skip them, and kick'em out the topic all together. But yeah this is the nice version, I can live with it. |

I figured it was a reasonable thought, we don't want good ol' TS to die so soon. No, no, no. We do not. |

Well The 72 hour thing, I agree, should be expanded a bit but posting order should be optional. However thats the part I am against since, if there is a 48/72 hour rule, but the posting order is indeed long. Someone is probably not gonna make it and that makes it not fair. |

Well, of course a PO is optional, but they help a lot for massive threads so long as the members involved are regularly active. What I propose is completely fair, it'd be unfair to hinder the RP experience for other members (thus, limiting the boards activity/appeal) because one other member can take 5 minutes to make a quick paragraph post. On my ps3 I make 2 paragraph posts in that time, without a keyboard, I don't find it out of line to expect this from a fellow RPer. |
