A small gust of wind blew past, as Adam looked out and over the outdoor observation deck. It had been a little while since he'd seen the Earth's sun rise for himself. Nearly a year in fact... an oversight he wished never to happen again as he touched his two scars that ran down his eye. In truth it was just a little painful to think of, more so after all he had gone through just to be shot down. If he were killed that day... he shuttered at the mere thought as his grip tightened around the steel bar barrier that kept him from falling into the ocean. Adam quickly calmed himself however. Closing his eyes, before taking a deep breath in, and exhaling, a little thing he picked up from a nurse at the academy that was put in charge of his rehabilitation when he was wounded from his first tour of duty. A good memory it was for him to hold, as it was also the time he managed to finish his 4th year, allowing him to wear the IV on his collar, and saw to him becoming an expert marksman, something he was rather proud of, even if he didn't actually enjoy using that skill outside of the shooting range. "Quite the morning..." Adam hummed lightly as he stood, leaning his weight on the barrier as he watched the sun rise. Soon a small smile grew across his face as his watch began to go off, letting him know it was time to go on duty. Though in truth he was more looking forward to what the day had in store for him, as he pushed himself back, putting his weight once more onto his feet, before he made his way inside. Pausing for a moment to take in and enjoy the feeling of the morning breeze and it's welcome coolness. His smile never left his face as he walked back inside, closing the door behind him. ---- (2 hours later) ---- After nearly 2 hours of running around, carrying out his morning duties, he was now in the locker room, getting into his green flight suit. Like any other Green Coat, his flight suit was nothing special, just another standard issue uniform he received along with the other crap he had to carry with him when he returned to active duty a month ago. Although the helmet was different, it was unique in both look and condition. It was the helmet he wore when he was shot down, although repaired, it still showed the scaring. No amount of filler could heal those wounds. In truth he was offered a new one to replace the one he now held in his gloved hands, but he had refused. He felt like the helmet was what saved his life that day he received his scars. Even the doctors back at the PLANT's had admitted if it hadn't been for his helmet, he'd more than likely not have survived. So after some repairs and modifications, the helmet he held in his hands was approved for use, and given to him. Plus it was the only thing that made him stand out from the other Green coat pilots. After a few minutes, he was finally dressed and ready to pilot his GINN. A fact that was obviously something he was excited for. He had his own MS again, sure he'd piloted the one's back during his 4th year, but nothing came close to the feeling of having your own Mobile Suit, with your name on it. The GINN was a good machine, though it was starting to lose it's touch against the EA's new Mobile Suits and mobile weapons. Though it wouldn't stop Adam from taking a couple down showing all those who thought such they were just a bit off. With the right Pilot anything could be a deadly weapon, maybe even against a Gundam... though that was impossible with the GINN's current weapons. Either way all thought left him the moment he quickly climbed into his cockpit. It didn't take him long to complete his overall pre-launch checks, and from what he could gather and see everything was GREEN. A small smile crept across his face as he flipped the switch on his helmet, which in turn put the canopy glass of the helmet to come down. He was now secured and ready to go. And it didn't take long for him to get clearance to launch either, as the Comms operator came up over the communications. "You're cleared for launch Dielschneider. Please proceed to the catapult for launch. How Copy?" The operator requested, her voice gentle but methodical in a way. "Copy on all Bridge. Will proceed to launch." Adam replied. He then stepped on the peddles, slowly, his hands on the joysticks, as he gave them a small twist and push forward which in turn saw to his GINN walking towards the catapult. As he did he pressed down on the sticks, which closed and locked into place his rifle. Once he was firmly locked in place, his Mobile Suit shook as everything locked up and he inched his mobile suit down into a crouched position before suddenly the three red lights blinked red for a moment before suddenly each turned Green. No sooner had the lights turned Green he readied himself to launch. "Adam Dielschneider, GINN, Heading out!" No sooner had he made the report he was forced back on his chair as the G's pressed against him as his MS was launched forward at a high speed. Once he was out, he quickly tapped the peddles, and pushed the sticks forward turning the thrust on, as he flew up into the air. The rush of adrenaline shooting through his veins as he completed a successful and flawless launch. A smile could be seen on Adam's face as he looked around at the GINN's view screens. Getting a look at his surroundings. It was peaceful, and quite nice. A good day to train, and conduct the routine patrol too. Now all he had to do was wait for the test dummies come launching out, and the real fun could start. |

It had been some 5 minutes from the time he had launched, and he was more or less by himself at the moment. Something he felt a little uncomfortable about, but none the less he sucked it up as his mobile suit had been positioned on a nearby small island near the Transcendence. Although it was close by, he made sure it was still hidden from the human eye, he knew he couldn't hide from the ship's radar, but he could at least mask his appearance, as it was training, and the dummies weren't bright when it came to hunting they only ever went after either the heat source or the actual target, though the newer models used radar to pinpoint the exact location of the target, but Adam was fairly decent at hiding from that too. All you had to do was turn the GINN in a state that made it seem as though it was off, which in turn made it a non hostile target, rather an empty suit. Even though it wasn't and it was a little cheap it was an effective tactic to use; even in real battlefields when you wanted to lay an ambush. Either way he hadn't actually done or taken steps to actually carry out the tactic, rather he was just looking for a bit of fun since today wasn't even a watched training session, well it was watched, but watched by the communications, and radar stations, but not the higher ranked stations. So he felt no need to use anything save for his own skills in pilot the machine he so loved to pilot. Even if it was considered weaker than the newer suits already being developed by the PLANT's weapon manufactures. As he sat in his cockpit, watching the view screen, he was suddenly given the warning that the dummies were being launched, or as the Comms people liked to state it. "Combat Operations Start! Training simulation started, please be advised any and all hits will be marked and updated on your on-board computer. Good luck Oddball. Communications Out." The female voice reported, which quickly sent Adam into hunter mood. He tightened the grip around the sticks, which in turn could be seen by his GINN which held his rifle at Fire ready, with the muzzle pointed down, hidden behind the small rock formation. It wasn't until the final dummy was launched that, Adam pressed down on one of the pedals, which lifted the GINN up from it's knees just enough for the head camera to spot the incoming dummies, as they quickly began to fly towards him, shooting small beams, which were supposed to simulate the EA's beams. Adam quickly tapped the pedals, before he quickly shifted the thrust forward then back, sending the GINN into a backward thrust as the earth would've been ripped apart by the beams in actual combat, so he had to quickly dodge the rounds. No sooner had the GINN thrust backwards, Adam felt himself being jerked forward as the G's pressed against his body. His harness did well to keep him against the seat. Despite the small bit of uncomfort he was feeling his eyes didn't leave his targets. Even though he was the prey at the moment, he was already plotting a course to allow himself to quickly turn the tides. Though it wasn't looking as if there were very many options. More than likely due to the fact he had boosted the dummies to the hardest difficulty he could think of, save the Gundam's since the GINN would be more than outmatched in such a scenario. He quickly dismissed the thought away however as he began to shift the controls, tapping the pedals in time to avoid on coming fire, as they quickly began to shoot to his right and forward position. He quickly pulled back, before moving them to the left, sending the GINN into a juke as he thrust over to his left, before doing the same as the dummies began to fire on him. Before long there was a three second pause, more than enough time for him to quickly shift up the rifle, bringing his GINN's weapon up just in time to fire a small burst towards the closest target. The dummy was quick to dodge however, though it wasn't quick enough to pick up it had been lured into a small area with little to no room maneuver, which saw to it crashing into the rock formation, which in turn provided Adam the opening he'd been waiting for as he popped off another two round burst, which deactivated the machine, sending it into the earth below. Adam had no time to admire in his 'kill', rather he pushed the thrust hard forward, stopping the GINN hard, shaking Adam around slightly, which Adam did his best to ignore, before he pressed hard on the pedals, launching the Mobile Suit forward hard, ripping and burning the ground around his boosters apart, before he was launched forward in time to avoid getting hit. Adam then shifted the controls, shifting the Mobile suit around so it's back was hovering above the ground, the rifle aimed towards the two targets chasing after him. He quickly took to bursts, taking one down, while the other dodged hard. His alarms went off, as the other two dummies quickly shifted forward with the controls, biting hard on his lower lip, as the G's pressed against his body. "Come on you fuckers, let's dance." Adam cursed slightly as his GINN came straight up before boosting to the left in time to avoid another barrage of enemy fire. Adam quickly returned fire, while also dodging, his fingers, hands, arms, and lefts moving as fast as possible, to catch up with each of the dummies attacks, so far it was proving to be challenge, but he was enjoying it. Though the only thought he had was on the current targets trying to 'kill' him. Despite the fact it was training he kept his mind thinking it was real, as if he would literally die if he was hit. Kept him on his toes. Then suddenly BAM he made another kill. Two left. Adam was doing well, as he tapped the pedals, and shifted side to side in time to quickly dodge the second dummy that tried to ambush him. Adam quickly took a moment to look at the first. It was closing in from behind while the second from the front. A pincer movement. Adam was surprised. Only for a second however, as he looked down and noticed they were over water. He hoped it was deep enough. No time to worry about it now. He quickly looked up as the alarms blared letting him know they both had a lock. Not good, but neither was what was coming for them. Both quickly opened up on him, he had mere seconds to dodge, and make a move. Which he did just there, as he quickly pushed the thrusts, pushing the GINN into the ocean in time to have the beams punch the water rendering them inaffective. Before he quickly, shifted his rifle behind his back, while he drew his blade, The dummies drew closer to the water, continuing to fire not aware that their rounds were ineffective. No sooner had the reached some 15 feet from the water, Adam punched the thrust up, before sending the GINN into a spiral, before it launched up, and burst through the water. The sound of the GINN's mono eye locking on to it's to targets being the only sound that could be heard in that split moment before... Both were cut in half, minor hits on Adam's armour as he flew up. Stopping the GINN in mid air as the two dummies blew up behind him While the bloom of the two explosions over came the back giving off a rather interesting background, which Adam himself was not aware of. Suddenly the screen came up with "TRAINING COMPLETE" Adam just looked at the screen for a moment, breathing hard as he was tired. His body had just undergone some pretty intense G's. Something he had enjoyed a bit, since it was better being in the GINN and feeling like you were in combat rather than being in a simulator... it didn't feel the same. Either way Adam moved his GINN on top of the only area cleared for GINN's to land on the Transcendence. He piloted the GINN to take a knee. After he landed he took a moment to lean back removing his helmet taking a breathe in. "Shit... I got WAY to into that." Adam thought as he felt himself returning from the adrenaline combat rush. |
