Several key additions to Dynapac's equipment line-up will extend the firm's machine range for the road construction market. Paving, economic asphalt road roller planer and compaction lines will benefit from new machines, with president Claes Ahrengart emphasising the investment in research and development Dynapac continues to make. Six new tracked paving machines are being added to the line-up and he added, "...we have also launched a new planer range and a new asphalt roller. We will have an entire new asphalt line."

The six new tracked pavers are designed for tackling paving widths from 2-14m and include sophisticated models and more basic versions, all of which share the same basic chassis as they are built on modular lines. The sophisticated models are the SD2500C, SD2500CS, SD2550C and SD2550CS and these are equipped with PLC-based controls while the conventional models are the more basic F2500C and F2500CS pavers. These six new machines replace the earlier F121C, F141C, SD115C, SD135C, F181C and F182CS models, pavement crack seal with general improvements to ergonomics and visibility as well as the latest low emission versions of the Cummins QSB6.7 diesel. The new pavers weigh from 18.5-19.6tonnes when fitted with screeds and the power ratings for the Cummins QSB6.7 diesel range from 110kW or 129kW in the basic F2500C and F2500CS models to 176kW or 194kW in the larger more sophisticated SD2550C or SD2550CS models. Thomas Hörnfeldt, Dynapac's vice president in charge of capital equipment said, "We're talking about six tracked pavers for widths of up to 14m and outputs to 1,100 tonnes/hour."

The company has used a great deal of customer feedback to ensure these pavers meet client needs. Hörnfeldt said, "We have been talking to a huge range of contractors to find out what we need to do." Key features include the improved material transfer with hydraulic push rollers that minimise bumping from a truck and allow all types of tipper vehicles to unload into the paver hoppers. The risk of cold spots forming in the hoppers is minimised while a large chain, road types of paving equipment wide throat and specially designed augers also help minimise the risk of material segregation. Moba paving controls are offered with the pavers, ensuring high quality performance.

Visibility is improved to the hopper and screed and the operator station can be slid from one side of the deck to the other using a pushbutton control. Customers can choose gas or electric heating, with the latter offering class-leading performance for fast heat-up times according to Dynapac. The screed design is said to maximise paving quality and now offers the ability to handle crown profiles from -2.5% to +4.5%. Hörnfeldt said, "We're proud of our screeds at Dynapac. We have the stiffest screeds and we're not changing that." A wheeled version, telescoping light tower price the SD2500WS, will also be launched shortly and this will share the same engine and screed as well as other features although its maximum paving width will be slightly smaller.
