You played very well Garry, but the beast was on a roll.

Thanks for your kind comments, gentlemen!
The beast was rather on fire in the final chase! On another day, with a different chaser, we might have brought the money home on that performance. As the chaser said, "pushbacks"
were the key, but he only got 1 question wrong!
I had an interesting day, got a night in a hotel, and my expenses were covered.
We filmed it in late February this year, so it's taken a while to get to screening. I ought to add that my audition for this took place in May 2013!
Right, now what other quiz shows are looking for contestants? . . .

Perhaps we should look into getting a team up for "Eggheads"?

Well done Gary, I still don't understand the programme and how you can win £8000 and go home with nothing. Were you nervous as you looked quite at home with all those pretty ladies.

Second one (you've got to have 2) is "The 'Known Space' Novels of Larry Niven"

OK, Del! A quick explanation. Contestants take part in firstly the Cashbuilder round, where they answer "quickfire" questions for 1 minute, with each correct answer adding £1000 to
the player's cash pot. Then, in the "Head-to-Head" round, one negotiates a higher offer and a lower offer with the chaser. The higher offer reduces the contesant's head start over the Chaser
by one question, while the lower offer (which may be negative and reduce the cash pot!) increases the head start by one question. After accepting an offer, contestant and Chaser answer
the same multiple-choice questions, bringing the amount chosen down the "money board". Correct answers advance either player down the board; a wrong answer means that player
remains in the same position. If the Chaser answers more correctly than the contestant, he will catch up. Taking the middle offer means the contestant has to answer 5 questions correctly
to get "home" and actually add their money to the cash pot. If the chaser catches up, the player is caught, and is out of the game, along with their cash.
Players who make it "home" see their money added to the team's cash pot.
When all players have done the "Head-to-Head", those still in the game take part in the Final Chase. 2 minutes of quickfire questions as a team "buzzing in" to answer. Then the Chaser has to
answer a different set of quickfire questions- if s/he answers more than the team, the team has been caught, and have lost their money, if less correct answers, the team win!
You have to win your money three times- and we only won it twice!

I think I understand but it all seems to depend on which chaser you pick doesn't it. To win your money twice seems to be a bit off to me and then be expected to win it a third time before it actually becomes yours.

You're absolutely right, Del! On another day with a different chaser, that performance would have brought home the cash.

Winning your cash three times is just how the game works

I'll have a go at other TV quizzes, but I can only really do the "solo" ones- I honestly don't know anyone with as wide a
general knowledge as me- that's not bragging, it's really the case! In Primary school, my nickname was "Professor"- because
my mates reckoned I knew everything!
