Revell 1:72 Boeing B-17G-35-VE Flying Fortress (04283) 42-97880, DF-F, “Little Miss Mischief”, 8th Airforce, 1st Air Division, 1st Combat Wing, 91st Bomb Group, 324rd Bomb Squadron, Bassingbourn, England, 1945 ![]() All in all I thought this was a very good kit with excellent detail that fits together exceptionally. The panel lines around the nose may be a bit exaggerated for some but I can live with it. Kit brush painted using Revell Aquacolors, Humbrol Decalfix, and Flory Dark Wash purely OOB build. My only disappointment was with the instructions in that they were very cluttered and ambiguous in places. For example the kit comes with two types of waist gunners windows, two types of tail gun positions, three upper rear skylights, two cockpit widow sets, two astrodomes and two bomb aimers front Perspex’s yet they do not give any indication which ones to use. Hopefully when (or if) Revell re-release the kit sometime in the future their new style instructions will remove the confusion. However I can not blame the instructions for the major gaff I made during construction, I glued the front fuselage window inserts in the wrong sides and did not notice until well into the decaling process by which time to remedy them would most likely wrecked the kit. Consequently I tried to do a bit weathering (not something I normally do) with some techniques working better than others. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

A great looking model. You've achieved a nice looking finish, and I really like the mix of colours on the aircraft.
