Is anyone going to scale model world at Telford this year?

Planning on going on the Sunday.

After going for the past five years, I'm giving it a miss this year. I've usually spent £3-4 hundred every time, and this year I have decided to spend my money differently.
SWMBO and I will be having a bit of Winter Sun in the Algarve in January instead. I've always modelled on a limited budget, I don't have the luxury of spare cash whenever
I want it. Janice has always taken an interest in my hobby and is generally very supportive, so I thought I'd give her something back
I've bought 5 kits this week by way of compensation(!)- Eduard's 1/48 Bell X-1, the Lindberg 1/48 Douglas X-3 Stiletto, Revell's 1/144 "Bronze Tiger" Typhoon, and "Black Bunny"
Tomcat, and Italeri's 1/72 Sherman M4A1. I may also vist "Motorcycle Live" at the NEC later in the month . . .

I did five years on the trot but didn't go last year. This year I'll be at the Classic Car Show at the NEC on that weekend.
Looking forward to seeing photos of the show from those who attend.

I wish I didn't have that sort of luxury.......

Last time I went I spent £200 that was part of what I got back from the cancelled wedding. I could easily have spent double that, which is why I've not been since.

Sarah is going to Cake International the weekend before, so is fully supportive (read "pushing me to go") of me going to Telford.
Strictly limiting myself to £100 this year, as tbh, I can't think of any kits I want right now. That could change though.....

Sarah and I are getting married next year (do we see a common theme here?), so I don't want to be spending too much, especially just before Xmas.

A sizeable and growing model stash is an ideal wedding present to yourselves.

I'd need a bigger house first.....

We have a 3 bedroom house, with only one actual bedroom. I have taken over one as my man-cave. Sarah is in the process of taking over the second for her sewing, so we have taken the bed out.
Sarah also has what was the dining room, as her cake decorating area.
So, that's why she never grumbles if I want to go to shows or if I buy more models.... :cool

My next project it a garage/workshop to put the Manta in and strip and rebuild it.

I seem to remember that we've already seen a picture of it somewhere. It's a "B". But, wasn't the Manta called Cavalier in GB? Or is it indeed a German-built Manta?

I do indeed have a Manta B coupe.
The Cavalier and Manta coupes and hatchbacks were sold alongside each other until the mk1 Cav was replaced. From then on the Manta was sold as 1.8 and 2.0 GT/E.
Mine is an earlier SR Berlinetta 2.0.
