Homeserve - Rant

ok so we have emergency household insurance through homeserve, so for £96 a year then cover us for emergency work for floods, blocked drains ect

anyway yesterday at 6pm our upstairs toilet became blocked, i tried but failed to clear it so i called homeserve!! the lady on the phone was really good and said a 'plumber' would call us withing 2 hrs to arrange to visit, at 8pm nothing so i called back and managed to speak to the co-ordinator, who said a visit had been already logged for between 10pm to 2am!!!!!

with little other choice i stayed up, at 0115hrs an ELECTRICIAN!! arrived with the tiniest plunger ive ever seen, so our sparky has a look and say's you need a plumber!!! :bang: :bang: :bang: no Sh*t (well actually lots of it) he takes photos and gets on to head office

they state we would be phoned at 8am with an urgent appointment, so im knackered so i agreed and go to bed, sure enough at 8am the phone rings and we are given the only appointment available today......... 12noon - 1800hrs


were still waiting!

Ain't that the truth :cool My mate was having dramas with Carillion Amey (they look after the MoD housing), after several no shows they sent someone who had no idea about boilers to his house, I told him to put it on their FB page and within minutes they had replied and called him back, that evening his boiler was replaced :grin:

It's still frustrating that this is what you have to do to get the proper service. :bang:
Unfortunately it's becoming all to common nowadays. :angry:

I'm with Homeserve too and have used them a couple of times (no emergencies thankfully), but always had good service.

Well after all that its fixed, the down pipe was blocked, the PLUMBER did a cracking job, shame we had to wait for so long and have a visit by the electritian
