Airfix Lynx Mk.7 to be converted to a Royal Marines Lynx AH.1 using the Alley Cat conversion. Will be built into the airframe, the pilot of which hovered obligingly in front of my while I photographed it one saturday afternoon in March 1986 during the Norwegian Amphib. Exercise 'Anchor Express'. An airframe which was very kindly identified for me by Mr. Nikon on these pages a little while ago.

You've never seen scenery until you've been in a Fjord. Plus the clear air meant you could see an attack by Jaguars coming from next year with the black exhaust smudge on the horizon.

It's always nice to see a Lynx. I found the conversion set pretty good.

Less talk more graft, I'm ageing by the second here so get on with it man. I don't think I've seen the conversion built before, sounds good though.

And we're off. This is just about the most extensively equipped Airfix interior I've ever seen. There's an awful lot there for something which is ostensibly an empty space for troops. Consoles still need to have decal panels added, there's some detail painting and a lot more parts to add. But not being familiar with this kit, I'm just learning how it all goes together. I've heard that the fit of parts can be a bit unforgiving.

Nice to see the pedal adjusters fitted - they're one of the most fiddly items I've ever had ping off a pair of tweezers into the carpet!
