I started this back in April for a club display for the Dams Raid Anniversary. Needless to say I did not meet any of the deadlines!

I am building ED912: AJ-N 'Nut'. This aircraft was involved on the Eder Dam raid and was the third aircraft to attack the dam. Its Upkeep mine caused the dam to breach.

Our club display concentrated on aircraft crewed by Australians. AJ-N had two Australian crew, the pilot; PLTOFF Leslie Knight and Wireless Operator: FSGT Robert Kellow.

The Eduard mask set I received last week was the build saver. I tried masking with other tape but found it quite tedious and not very tidy.

Some shots with some paint. I am not sure if the tail and nose turret framing should be as I have painted them or just all black. I have rubbed it back to get rid of some overspray and rough finish from the Future I sprayed on it. Touch ups and re-coating with Future to follow and then decalling to complete it.

Since I broke on of the gear leg cross support struts I decided to do her wheels up. I am using than Italeri stand that looks quit good IMO

The Dam Diorama, which shows another 1/72 Lancaster (for scale). This also needs another couple of 1/144 to be added in the background. The dam diorama is loosely based on the Möhne Dam.

It's kind of odd. When a single type GB was suggested nobody was that keen and yet at the moment nearly everyone is making Lancasters. I feel kind of left out.

It is looking really good though. I like it a lot. :cool

Well I have had a struggle with the decals on this one. I finally have the thing decalled and ready for a flat coat and light weathering.

The ID letters gave me grief with 3 attempts to get it right.

Carry on at this rate and a dam will be needed for them all to fly over.

Thanks Mark,

After I took these shot I realised I had also forgot to put the dorsal gun and fairing in. I have since added them and manged to break the barrel off. Time to fix it and apply a final flat coat.

Hey Ray, did you mean ventral gun? Didn`t think the Lanc`s had the dorsel fitted?
