Great start to a great kit of one of the most iconic F1 cars ever built.

Just out of curiosity is there a reason for painting the main bodywork silver prior to applying the blue?

Cheers,

Warren
Yes most certainly its in my top 5 favourites,

Weirdly no.. I like to spray all my models metal silver as a primer as it gives it a realistic look whilst building :redface
just one of those personal habits ha ha :bang:

Nice work so far. I built one when I was in my teens and it is the only F1 car I have ever built.

We modellers have some strange habits!

Though most F1 cars after the early 70's wouldn't have had metal bodywork.

It's probably a bit late on this build now but you can buy clear yellow pipe for the fuel lines which would raise an already excellent engine to another level.

This is the 1/12 Ferrari T4 engine I built about a year ago.

keep up the excellent work Sam.

A small update:

I am still waiting for my clear gloss and new spray gun to arrive so building is at a standstill,
I have only done a small amount till they arrive.

Another Update today

Spray Gun arrived yesterday, got the body all finished, rear wing sponsored up and the front end and cockpit has started to come together.
I also quickly made up some stands whilst waiting for paint to dry.

Looking really good, very nice paint finish on the blue.

Just a suggestion if you haven't thought about it yet, use a sanding stick on the tyres to get rid of the mould line, it also makes the tyres look used.

Cheers,

Warren

cheers warren, its not too bad few spots as always.
and yes i will be borrowing one of the missus's nail files for the tyres its one of many on the left to do list :wicked

only the front suspension is glued in, everything else is 'dry fit'

Coming along very nicely, if you have a Pound shop pop in there and buy your own nail files, 6 for a quid.
