Heading back to the 74 upgrade, I now find myself up against the clock for an event in early March.

So I`m craking on with these two...., the `first and last` Tigers......,

.... Well..., thats not quite true. The first type was the Avro 504 in the days when 74 was actually a training unit in the UK, but the SE5a was the first fighter type used.

Pre painted a few internal bits on the Hawk and here`s where I am in the SE5a which after letting all the internal cockpit stuff dry, pretty much took me about 5 minutes to get this far ....,

That`s gone right over my head Paul.... :dead

With my concentration focused on muti-tasking here where I am on both....,

Seats are all still WIP as they are fiddly little buggers and will need a repaint.
Cockpit is looking good, thank god for wash......

As you can see I`ve used the big hairy stick on this and it needs a tidy up around the wing edges. The undersides are more a tinge of linen `yellow white`, but you can`t really see that in the picture. The green is pretty spot on though.

What's the SE5 like. I have a need for a few of these and this one's a fair bit cheaper than the Roden one.

I like it.

Obviously it`s a very simple kit and you will need to remove the marking indentations/protrusions on the wings, fuselage and tail, but I think it`s a case of making with it what you will. I`m pretty sure a few aftermarket bits and bobs or scratchbuilt items would bring it up to a decent standard.

I did a sprue review of this so you can have a gander....

What I meant was, that hopefully the Hawk isn't going to be the last 74 Sqn aircraft.....Altho, quite fitting that they started off with a training aircraft and end with one.....

Ohhhhh! :redface

I doubt 74 will ever return if I`m honest Paul. When they hung up their Hawks in 2000 there were the usual rumors about them forming on Typhoons and I`ve even heard quite recently the F-35 `Dave` is/was a candidate.

But in all honesty, we would need the Falklands to be invaded again me thinks before 74 get another look in.

Now then..., where`s Cristina Fernández de Kirchner phone number.....? :wicked

Cool 74 isnt that far down in the seniority stakes we shall see after the tonka units are converted to typhoons and daves

as for the hawk you can build it without the nose leg and add it later

so what scheme?

I seem to have missed something here, why are you all calling the F-35 a 'Dave'?
