These are looking wonderful mate.

Watching this thread, the eye catching colour schemes of your builds and the ease at which you are suggesting that
the kit goes together, I can see me buying several of these kits.

Where do you get the rod from as this is a great idea and wouldn't mind trying it out myself? Also, have you welded
sections together? If so, how as it looks very neat.?

Alan,

Thanks for the comments. The kit does indeed go together very easily and at my standard, very accurately. I'm not sure what you mean by welding sections together, but I think it refers to the acrylic rod. If so, the bent section remains in one piece.

If it's not there already, I'll put up a few photos in the "How To" section soon.

I will put photos of the finished builds in the appropriate section when I've taken them. To sum up, the builds of these two models has been a great experience to ease me back into modelling after a long break. The quality of the Airfix production is well up to my expectations and the kits go together easily. The markings seem to be very good and are easy to work with. I haven't used the undercarriage, but in 1/72 scale, it's always likely to need a little beefing up owing to the spindly nature of the main gear.

The best endorsement I could give the kit is that I would readily build another.

Regards,

Nigel
