I finally dragged myself back to the workbench today. I haven't built anything in quite a few months.
Couldn't really face continuing with the Merkava or St. Albans that I started back around September, so I dug this out of the stash:

It isn't a patch on the new tool Airfix kits, but I just needed a quick build to get things moving again.
To be honest its on par with the old Airfix MiG15 but very few parts and plans for an all black paint scheme it fits the bill.

Tub painted Xtracolor soviet cockpit green and a few dials dotted in.

Fuselage halves joined with the tub and tailpipe sandwiched in between:

Hope to get the main assembly completed tomorrow.

As someone else who has just had a good break from building (6 months+), I'm also starting new builds so I can see a project through!

I quite like Kopro kits as although they are basic at times they leave a lot of scope for improvement. I built there SU-22 and added a neomega tub and that was about it. It didnt go together that easily but that made it more enjoyable.

Great subject as well in the mig

Thanks guys.
Not much to report. Added the wings, some weight in the nose as well as the nose intake and glued the main u/c in place.
Sanded the seams and applied a little filler to the wing joints and on the nose.

After everything dries thoroughly, I'll finish sanding and replace some panel lines as best I can.
Really enjoying this little build.

Finished the rest of the assembly, u/c doors, guns etc, and give it a coat of primer.
Unfortunately, the primer started going blotchy, for want of a better description, on the plastic.
I think it is something to do with the cold, as my workbench is in the loft and even though its insulated and has a radiator, I remember something similar happening last year around this time.
Having said that, it may be nothing to do with the weather and its just my airbrushing...

Do you use a Halfords rattle can? (other makes available :whistle ) I find if the can itself is cold it can affect the results. Keeping the can in a warm place (no, not on the radiator, lol :redface ) can make a difference.

Whoops :whistle
Should have mentioned - I use Vallejo model-air primer and paint.
Thanks for the tip, though. I'm going to gently heat the bottles and see if it helps.

A saucepan of warm water is ideal for warming rattle cans.
