Decided to go and test the new local model shop today. It was nice to go into a proper model shop again, it's been a long time. Anyhoo, I parted with some Golden Splonders and came away with these.

Now, it might be true that I've already built 5 Tamiya Mustangs and I've got another one on the shelf, but it was all on it's own and looked at me with sad puppy eyes and I felt sorry for it. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it), plus it is my favourite kit, ever.

Nice haul and you do realise that this will keep him open for at least a week. You'll have to ask him if he does internet.

He hasn't even had time to put a name on the front of the shop yet.

Not the best photo, but I just received some resin from MDC (Model Design Construction). Both 1/48, a 12 gun nose for a Boston/Havoc nightfighter conversion, and a rag wing Hurricane conversion.

First impressions of MDCs work is excellent!! The moulding is superlative, with minimal excess to remove. All parts needed for the conversions are included. The Hurricane comes with new windscreen and filletless tailwheel area. The Havoc has a pair of vacformed canopys, as the British nightfighters had a modified windscreen..not something I realised

Paint and dirty up would make them look really good but don't put your skills down Andy.

A small stash increase today after a trip to Halifax Modellers World.

Came home with a pair of the new Airfix 1/72 McDonnell Douglas Phantom FG.1's.
