There were Mk I, V and IX airframes that were fitted with floats, they're well documented and I have a number of pictures in books and publications, plus Geoffrey Quill describes test flying them in his book. The idea was first conceptualised (I won't say floated  ) in 1940 during the Norway campaign when it was realised lack of airfields would be a problem. The campaign was too short for it to come to much, although a Spitfire was fitted with floats designed for the Blackburn Roc, but it was revived again after Japan entered the war. All the players in the Pacific war looked at floatplane fighters, but it was only Japan that used them in any sort of numbers.

Hi all,
Yesterday from the Bovington show:

Meng 1/35 Sd.Kfz 171 Panther Ausf A Zimmerit decals type 4
Tamiya 1/35 Brumbar Zimmerit decals

Tamiya Extra Thin x 1
Tamiya Extra Thin quick setting x 1

Not to much, but 3 kits I have been after for a while. I have a plan for the C-47, she is going to be an Israeli 3 tone desert camouflage machine, the Defiant is going to be as per the box art and the Gnat will be in the second scheme offered, from the film Hot Shots.
