Re the 3 bargain Airfix kits, does anybody use the paint? tube glue is always handy for stronger joints but that paint isn't up my street.
The paint goes straight into the bin, Del.
My thoughts exactly Paddy. If aimed at kids why don't they put proper colours into them for the added incentive.

The Macabre Mobile was the raffle prize and there was an added bonus in the form of a 1/24 white metal Elvira figure inside the box, a win, win.

Being tighter than a bull's botty in August, I've taken to having a go at using the gift set paints if they happen to be in a colour that's appropriate for what I'm working on. In fact they're quite usable, especially if thinned with a little old fashioned Klear (I've not tried the newer stuff). Not for main colours or anything like that, but for detailing, dry brushing, even a bit of figure painting. If they dry out I scrape out any residue and save the pots, they're handy for mixing small quants of just about anything.

Del, having done a gig with youngsters at ATC, I can assure you they don't give a stuff about correct colours, quality of the paint etc. Whack it together, slap it on, job done.

I'll in-box it some time, the Flak 40/2 looks excellent. You can buy it as a stand alone, also they do it as a single Flak 40. They'd be great for doing a dio of one of the big city flak towers - there weren't that many manufactured and I think they're the only places they were used. Mounting it on a chassis (even as big as the proposed E100) would not have been practicable, the twin weighed 26 tonnes.

Oh my that 1958 T/bird just has to be done stock if the parts are in the box, forget the cobwebs etc.

I have the 1959 Limited Edition version by Danbury Mint in cream and it's beautiful, it was also the inspiration for the 1960s Ford Corsair here in the UK.

Had a trip out over the weekend to Halifax Modellers World.
Picked up the reissued Revell 1/72 Hawker Hunter FGA.9.

Yes YES YES!!!! I have just won a Classic Airframes 1/48 Meteor NF11/13 on E-bay. Ok, it's cost me £50, but I'm ok with that, considering its rarity!

That is a nice catch Paul.

So less talk, more action means get on with it as we're waiting and ageing by the minute.
