When I worked at Drews Lane (used to be the Wolesley factory) therewas a story whereby entire axle and transmission units were smuggled out by floating the parts on rafts on the little river that was culveted and collecting them outside the plant. The parts were then built up and sold to garage

How true this is I don't know but the principle applies. (Forget the river Mark it isn't the important bit) but hopefully you get the drift.
