After the train wreck that was the Hudson, I thought I'd better build something that could be built...hopefully. Looking at the Scorpion, I don't know if it is a Revell original or a re-pop, but it looks pretty good. My only reservation is that it is moulded in an awful brittle silver plastic. Anyway, on to the build. Being me, I couldn't let this go totally OOB and decided to whif it....More of which later. Building starts, as is pretty normal, with the cockpit. Nothing troublesome here. No raised deatails, just decals, which don't look too bad. You get the option of different rear IP for the different variants. I went for the J. ![]() ![]() Next up is the fuselage The cockpit fits to the front turbine blades and it all slots into place, along with 20g of weight..... ![]() ![]() After that its a simple matter of intakes/exhausts, wings, tail etc. ![]() The plans show the wings as having no anhedral/dihedral at all, i.e. perfectly flat. I sai this because the way I had my instruction booklet gave them a slight downturn....so thats how I glued them....then had to cut them off and do it again. Still not perfectly flat, but better...... ![]() ![]() One strange thing is the 2 intakes on the rear fuselage. For some reason they are moulded in 2 halfs. Not because they have a nice hole in the front or for any reasons that I can see of difficult shapes to mould.....They are very small and very fiddly, even when assembled.... ![]() ![]() Fit so far has been pretty good, with only minor filler used where I messed up the wings.... |

In my case, build first, take photos as I go, but don't post till I've got something to show. This is a few nights work. |

The paint is on. Two things I forgot to do tho. One was remask one of the windscreen windows when the masking solution came off....oops, had to scrape it and two, there is a gap at the rear of the canopy between it and the frame. It might have been my fault, but its worth keeping an eye out for if you build one. I just slid a piece of plastic card in and filed it to shape and I'll paint it later.![]() ![]()
