Had a great day at Newark Aeroboot and then on to the WAVE with aviationandy

Picked up a load of bargains (in my opinion)

Firstly, the vacform, mentioned elsewhwere, that Andy and I both bought one of, for a trial and build off...

1/48 A-10

1/72 YF-12, to escort my XB-70

Would be rude to have not got this duo for £5

Another one that me and Andy got, to get a discount on...limited run Pembroke

One I had as a kid, the Bristol 138 high altitude research planr

And some decals...

And from the WAVE I bought another TSR2 and a Tonka EF3 in 1/48

The box artwork looks like the OXCART scheme the A-12 had when operating from Groom Lake.

If I was doing it, I'd do the NASA livery .....which was black.

If you're doing it as an escort (oooer) for the Valkyrie, remember a SAC sash :)

It was good to see you too mate. I understand you rushing off. SWMBO was obviously bored and not too happy about being there. I know how that feels mate.

I'm more than happy with my purchases. Didn't pay more that a fiver for anything except the Pembroke.
Went to see the "collection on sale in the crewroom and certainly was not going to pay £50 for a TSR2. Glad I didn't as I got on for £30 at the WAVE

I had a good time at the aeroboot as well, & thanks again to DF for the lift there & back.
I did not come away with such a big haul, but a few "gaps in the stash" fillers. Airfix Gnat, the other Pembroke, SR71, sadly missing the instructions :( & the other vac form Hunter. 4 kits for £18.50, I dont think thats too bad... :)

Really looking forward to the june one now. :cool

Will we be displaying a pair of fully built vac form Hunters then?

I've been looking for [arts and Aires do a cockpit and wheel bays, and Aeroclub do (or did) metal undercarriage.

Looking at schemes for mine, I think I'll go with the red, white and grey trainer, like I mentioned in the car. Partly because it looks nice and partly because I don't have to try and get the gun ports to look right...

Well if you mean, will it be whiffed.....of course.....RAFG circa 1980 ish.....

F-12 will be operational escort for the B-70

The two I didn't show, the Tonka F3 and TSR2 are going towards my eventual Eagle family whif. 5 aircraft, all in 1/48, showing all major variants as used by the RAF...
