Ok I wasn't going to build another aircraft so soon after finishing the B-17, but seeing a few WIP threads over on BM of the mighty cat. I was seduced into building one.

As you may know I fell in love with the cat after seeing movies such as "Top Gun" and "The Final Countdown". And I've been in love with the mighty cat ever since.

This cat will be from the West Coast Tomcat Fleet Readiness Squadron VF-124 "Gunfighters".

So the box art:

The particular cat I'll be representing:

And my references so I can't go wrong:

This was done yesterday.

The only item I added to the cockpit was a small piece of sprue to represent the throttle lever.

All hand brushed, and decal.

I hope you like it:

Once I get back from the job centre there should be some progress to show.

I know I promised pics of my progress so far, but they will be up tomorrow, as there isn't much to show at the moment.

The seats are together, and awaiting painting and crew figures are being prepped. And the canopy is about to be sanded as there is a bloomin' great seam down the middle of it, but nothing that a few swipes of micromesh won't sort.

Ok some progress on the "A" model.

The Yellow spot represents a placard on the power brake module and anti-skid control box.

Right some more progress on the cat.

And I've the nice etched pieces that Hasegawa supply for the canopy interior.

So here you can see the pilot's ear view mirrors, as well as the RIO's mirror, and also the canopy latches:

Thanx Shaun.

I guess having references handy is a plus.

More progress later (hopefully).

Looking good Daz! What did you use to glue the etch to the canopy?

Hi Antony.

I used a little dab of Super Glue on a cocktail stick, and waited just before the glue went off to apply the etched pieces to the canopy.
