Started these. I got the SLS for Xmas off my kids and had the SL for years.
Problem is the SL had it's Chassis cut up as I was going to customise it with a Merc V6 racing engine and 19" racing wheels....

So first job was to repair it!!

Nice to see some non aircraft kits being built.

Great start, particularly putting the 300 back together.

I know the scales are slightly different but the difference in te size of wheels and tyres is incredible!

1/24 and 1/25, so not a lot in it!

The 300SL will be 15" iirc and I think the SLS is 18" f and 19"r. But then there is over 55 years between these designs.

But I do love cars with gullwing doors!

Not much to report. Just primered the body panels and rubbed them over with 1200 wet and dry (wet)

I tried, using a technique I saw someone on BM use, to spray the SLS underbonnet panels in carbon fibre look....failed!!
It's just a mix of black, grey and gunmetal now!!!

While I had the black in the airbrush I gave the SL chassis a coat

It's been slow going with these two. Mainly because of the weather. I couldn't get out to spray the bodyshells.
Well, with the spell of half decent weather I managed it, and her's the results...
Sorry, the light in my room isn't condusive to taking good pictures of glossy items...
